  1. Not IT here but end user, Generally username won't get changed (there are circumstances it will), Display name and email address (with the old staying as alias) will be updated and those will sync via various systems.
  2. I would say its the Job Reference Number as to why it's there. (Eg: Job1001 - Laptop ### won't turn on, Would have the job number marked on it)
  3. If you end up in PDFs, I use Kofax (nee Nuance) Power PDF for redacting PDFs for our finance system (we can't show client names), has same handy tools like Search and Redact.
  4. Security updates would be a big one.
  5. Instead of forwarding the email, Depending on how your support@ email address is setup. If its a shared mailbox, add it to Outlook then you can just drag the email into the inbox.
  6. We mainly had the screens not randomly not reconnecting with ours, We do have one make & model of screens that just randomly hate being connected to surfaces. Docks are just essentially just mini computers that your device connects to and interfaces with, and things get improved or fixed over time (the same as applying Driver and BIOS updates etc on your desktops/laptops etc)
  7. What I will say for surface docks, to make your experience better: Keep their firmware somewhat up to date and consistent across the site For users that are dual screens (eg: office staff), I found matching screens (Make & Model) make the experience a lot better when they commonly dock/undock
  8. I'm guessing you have already checked, But when you are in a meeting go into the settings and check which device it's using as the mic. I have seen it sometimes picking up anything but the default mic as the device
  9. In teams, from memory, if you plug a device in after joining, You need to hit the cog and change the device to be used it won't automatically change over to the headset.
  10. We use Nunance PDF (appears to have been renamed KoFax PDF) for our PDF editing, Although I don't know about password protecting as I've never had to do that yet.
  11. Our work used GoVote for our EBA process, Another website used electionrunner for their committee voting situation (although I can't vouch for the backend systems for either)
  12. It's only fairly new from memory.
  13. Microsoft allegedly still runs a old AD setup from NT they keep upgrading
  14. Has the antenna shifted position? any of it broken from birds etc sitting on it? as that can effect that Did it ever get good reception?

    Staff Laptops

There are many ways, but it depends on how your network is setup to support these devices. One solution would be a always on vpn setup.
  16. You need to look at the call planning stuff https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoft-365/microsoft-teams/voice-calling#:~:text=Calling%20in%20Teams%20starts%20with,can%20make%20and%20receive%20calls. I can't speak to what Teams is like as a PABX as we use Skype for Business.
  17. Is the screen that is displayed on the smart board, Duplicated or extended?
  18. From memory, not at work to double check as I don't use it much, Don't only team owners have that access? they should be team members.
  19. Is it all staff? only some? only a single staff member?
  20. We use Skype for Business as our PABX, I believe MS is transitioning that over to Teams in the long run. Having a look at this MS doc it appears UK is a supported country for doing it Not a school, but for example almost all of our staff are softphones, Windows app & headset for most (and iOS/Android as well), and we only have physical handsets in selected locations such as our shared meeting rooms. There are many other VOIP based providers as well. Just a reminder to check when we are looking at hosted solutions vs self hosted is that many hosted solutions I noticed many will require each extension to require a DID attached which is where the costs rise.
  21. From what I've read elsewhere, it installs in %userdata% so it doesn't need admin to install. Although if needed you could push a MSI out via GP etc Edit: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/cloud-services/214402-teachers-can-install-teams-client.html
  22. Are you just searching current email folders, or their vaults/archives as well (or whatever the solution is called for your email system)?
  23. I don't know the full bit about it or how customizable it is, But one of the teams I support use PCOMS to do some assessment/questionnaire to see how their client believes the engagement and progress is going. Also depending on what areas of vulnerability you are working with, There is also OutcomeStar as well.
  24. Also have a look at Access-based enumeration
  25. This would have been Win Seven from memory, on a state wide system where local admins didn't get a choice.
