Over the last few months I have been working on a MacOS Server getting it ready to be; the Major User Management system. This week I had a discussion with one of the School's Managers who exclaimed "we are a small school and we don't need this kind of management". My situation is, am I right to move towards Managed ( users log in and out using LDAP / Open Directory) or continue using Local user authentication? Alternatively dose this conflict with GDPR and we should have Server Management on our Macs? Every school, high school and college I have worked at has managed computers (i.e. users log in and out of a server managed environment). Dose anyone know of any legislation I can use to convince people otherwise of our current situation?

Hi I just did a quick bit of research based on my original idea I was going to post. What you could do is create a Launch Agents, Launch agents run on behalf of a user and therefore need the user to be logged in to run. Hi You could always try DiskMakerX DiskMaker X to create bootable usb sticks. I've had mixed success with the software, I created a bootable OSX 10.10 USB stick and I did have a bootable OSX 10.11 USB stick until it stopped working, apple updates I think. I haven't tried to create OSX 10.12 or OSX 10.13 bootable USB stick as yet.

Hi ya'll I manager to change the certificate by rebuilding the service ( Profile Manager) and this changed the certificate to the required one.

My current trust profile in profile manager is incorrect. Long story short, deleted added new OD, fixed DNS issues; now profile manager trust profile is using the wrong SCEP CA certificate. The SCEP description should be pointing to the server, however at the moment the description certificates points to a non server Mac. Dose any one know of a way to replace to trust profile that is downloaded from the my devices webpage? I have already tried changing the profile from the server side with no joy. replayed certificate, yet when downloaded from profile manager the same old certificate was downloaded.

Nope. But I have managed to resolve the problem by simply restarting Profile Manager and the web server on the server, which seems to have done the trick. However it would be nice to know why it did it in the first place.

I have noticed that my MacOS Server is not updating profile or push update to computers or tablets as it should be doing. In Profile Manager, under the activity tasks Menu, all of the tasks are pending and they never complete. I believe it has something to do with apple Push Notifications. It was all working earlier in the week and now it has stopped. Has anyone experienced this or do you have any advice on getting it up and running again?
