We are running Lenovo L13 laptops with various SMARTboards, mostly 6000 and 6000S series. When users connect to these and use Microsoft OneNote for drawing on the board, we are seeing frequent laptop freezes and crashes. So far we have tried updating video drivers, removing SMART Product driver, and using both versions of OneNote. So far nothing has worked. Anyone else seeing this issue or have any suggestions?

We use active USB cables with the extender part built into the cable in several rooms. Have been happy with them so far.

We got one MX and the small price difference didn't seem like enough so we went back to the 6000 series. Like the front firing speakers, d not like temperamental touch issues or the weak magnets that often did not hold the pens.

We have only one MX series board. After having it for a few weeks we felt that the SMART 6000 series was far better and worth the small difference in cost from our supplier. The feedback on the 6000 series has been mostly positive. We have had 2 boards die and get replaced under warranty out of about 50 so far. We have not installed any other brands to compare these to, so I can't speak to that. We do have several LG and Vizio consumer TVs in places where touch would not be needed or used, these have worked well also and cost far less than an interactive panel.

FYI an update 3.2.2006 for the AM40 or 50 IQ units just came out with a few improvements on the screen sharing. This update got some of my boards that insisted on using 2.4 to now use 5ghz.

You may want to make sure these have been applied (supposed to happen automatically) before doing any testing. These work OK for us, but not yet to the point where I encourage non tech-friendly faculty to use it. We mostly use the screen sharing / miracast from within Windows rather than casting from Chrome, but I have done both. With every firmware update for the TVs and the wireless adapters on our computers they get a little bit better, but still not to where I would like it to be, especially for video. If you can, make sure everything is using 5ghz wireless direct. That works much better than 2.4ghz here.

We have these with faculty and staff and they have been working well for the most part, no complaints about speed. Ours have a motherboard issue where a USB dongle in the left side port will cause an external monitor to flash in and out, but I think this has been corrected on newly produced units. Some apps default to the keyboard camera rather than the screen camera. We have been using the official Lenovo network adapter in the few places it is needed. USB C charging is pretty quick. Had them for about 7 months, very few warranty claims so far.

I have an old digital EQ unit in an audio rack that I am considering replacing with a new simpler unit. The old one will not save settings and is not intuitive to use at all. This unit is in a gym and I always get complaints about the audio in there and being able to use the EQ makes a significant difference. As it is now, I have to be there every time the unit is used as it wont save settings and is too complicated for others to be willing to learn. Will replacing this be as easy as it looks? Just unscrew the old one from the rack pull it out and switch the plugs? I have confirmed that the old has XLR connection for in and out. I do not have access to the back of the rack as it is a small one mounted to a wall.

Within Smart ink settings there is a Microsoft Office settings section that has some check boxes for a Power Point plugin that sound like the issues you are seeing.

No, it has not worked reliably for us yet, but it does seem to be slowly getting better. Update your wifi card drivers, update to Windows 1809 if you can. One particularly difficult issue I am trying to resolve is forcing the wifi direct connection to use 5ghz. Anytime it uses 2.4 here the connection is much worse. When it does connect over a 5ghz signal it is usually a very usable connection, but until I can force all of them to use that all of the time I only recommend this feature for non-video use and only to teachers that seem confident with trying new technology. We have HDMI and USB to a desk or podium in every room and I don't anticipate that ending anytime soon. We are mostly using the screen share / miracast function within Windows, but I have found essentially the same results with the chromecast and airplay connections. Which connection option are you using the most?

Thanks for the thoughts everyone. It is not an active cable that is in there now. I observed class for an hour the other day an of course it didn't happen while I was there. I'm thinking I will try a signal booster. I have not removed the HDMI over CAT that was in place, just added. Would the signal booster have any effect if used in conjunction with the HDMI over CAT?

It is a 30 foot HDMI cable running directly from projector to PC. The previous setup was running HDMI over CAT, which I thought would be the problem, but after replacing that with this 30 foot cable the issue is still being reported.

I'm having an issue in a classroom where the teacher reports that the projector drops the signal for a second or two several times a day. I have replaced the projector, HDMI cable and had her use a different computer for a while. I'm beginning to think it may have something to do with the electric in the classroom, but I have no idea where to start tracking something like that in our large and very old building. Any thoughts on the possibility of electric causing this issue or what could be done about it? Are there any small power line conditioner devices that could help?

I think the serial cable to the projector was bringing the power to the pen try, so now you probably need a small 5 Volt 2 Amp power adapter to plug it in on its own. This looks like the official version, but I'm sure the same thing can be found much cheaper if you don't have something on hand that will work.

I think on that one the pen tray plugs into a little box attached to the bottom center of the board and the USB to the computer plugs into that board as well. You will likely lose the ability to turn on the projector from the pen tray, but if the computer video goes to the projector and the computer USB goes to the smartboard, then things should work. How was replacing a smart projector with the NEC? Any complications with the nuts and bolts side of it?

We have been trying to use the integrated screen casting/sharing option in our TVs and Interactive TVs, but get lots of complaints about signal dropping. Had to put Miracast adapters back in HDMI ports in a few rooms for now
