Just a quick update: did a load test with 120 students hitting the chat room on moodle and got the following load result: load average: 0.14, 0.04, 0.01 Man thanks to geoff, problem sorted ;-)

As a linux n00b yes Ihave learned alot from this so many thanks. Us windoze people are very much shielded from this kinda stuff and it is certainly refreshing to "get stuck in" to something new.

Sorry geoff apachetop still doers not work. Might I also say that this is a complete vanilla install of LAMP and moodle with the only config changes being LDAP auth for moodle and a template change, other than that, out of the box install

Hi All, I have an Ubuntu 6.06 Lamp Server running Moodle 1.8.2 and have been testing it this morning with a class to see how it handles and to put it mildly VERY BAD. Sort of, I am wanting to have a seperate audit trail of what changes are done when and by who. I currently have a windows service runninf a small app that does the export into an SQL 2005 database and this works well exporting all event logs for the server and then clearing them down after the export. I am now writing a web frontend to query the data, this should allow for quick audit reports and verification of the change management process also.

@timbo: Are purchasing these licences outright or are you leasing them?? We lease ours under a schools agreement and last year paid £8k for coverage of 450 desktops / laptops (XP, Office 2003), 8 Windows Servers (2003 R2), SQL Server, Exchange Server, and CALS to access these along with TS CALS (150). We have over 600 desktops in total but the others are covered under OEM licences.

When you do the check you will need to have another if else end if statement to do the redirect to index.asp if the login is correct and set the session variable or if it was incorrect to redirect back to the login page and if required display a message to the user.
