Have you tried simply re-adding the printer? We had this problem, ish, and we removed the printer, re-installed the driver and re-added the printer and it was fine (and still is).

Just a Specialized Hardrock will do for that kind of thing, get it from Halfords you get one free service after wards, even if they are a load of numpties in there. If not try something like a Saracen, they're pretty cheap but tend to do the job. Both of these options also come under £300 usually, and the Hardrock can come in GIRLY COLOURS! Or, if not, buy a Kona, but these are more expensive. With Kona you tend to pay a high percentage for the name, but they are of good quality. Make friends with a local small Kona dealer, become friends with them and they might give you £500 off it (like me) Or look around GT and Giant, they don't tend to be bad. Your post was very helpful. All the problem is, a process called hpdot4d is not being allowed to run due to application control, at least I think it's the process, i can't find anything else with the same name. This is then stopping the ability to use the scan function on an All In One HP scanner / printer. I was thinking by stopping this process the Scanner / Printer will then be able to work without the hpdot4d process being blocked and stopping it. There are also processes like the HP Scheduler and HP Feedback which run every time a user logs again, and again showing error messages saying it cannot run. The only place I can find these are in the process list in Activity Monitor, which I do not have the knowledge of allowing the processes in Workgroup Manager on the XServe.
