Were a mix of 1803 and 1809 with no printer problems at all, (with the except of PDF printing via Edge that holds up our copiers that use copier codes). All deployed via GPO to the location/machine rather than the user. All works perfectly!

No mouse and keyboard when trying to install Windows 7
Accura2k7 replied to mattwilkinson7's topic in Windows 7
I had this on a new build system, and I had to go into the BIOS and set the USB settings to Basic function instead of Advanced, restarted and all was fine. -
Have you got UEFI booting working on any other device? I had problems on a new server until I imported an older windows 10 iso that had the efi files that 1803 appeared to be missing

I ran Windows 10 on a 2008 R2 domain for well over a year until we could upgrade to 2016. Never really had any problems running them!

Generally i would say check .net is installed, and check the connect.ini file is correct.

If you install it manually, can you simply copy the folder to another machine and run the .exe file? If you can, create you own MSI and deploy that?

Google hit with 4.3bn euro Android fine from EU

If they are pushing this old band wagon again, why not jump back on Microsoft! Edge being push as a default no matter what we do? GPO's being ignored, Adobe Reader installed, nah, ill default back to Edge to read that PDF for you... VLC Player installed, not happy with that, ill default DVD's to an app that then asks us to buy an addon to play DVD's. If this isn't forcing a monopoly based on an already won case, i don't know what is. Maybe they feel they have milked Microsoft enough? Maybe Microsoft gets away with it because they gave Windows 10 away for free.... oh wait, that doesn't add up with Android being free! Google have simply given us what we wanted! Microsoft force things on us that we do not want! -
it does do upload speed as well, if you click the Show More Info button after it finishes.

Dodgy switch? Dodgy HDD in the server that holds staff accounts? I was having issues with our internal daily backup taking more than a day to complete, investigate and found a click HDD in the NAS but was working enough for no errors to show up. Replaced drive, few hours for the backup again!

Request from non employee and non-LA access to FMS - Urgent
Accura2k7 replied to Accura2k7's topic in MIS Systems
Hi All, So after a meeting with the Head and the Chair of Governors, they have conceded to give me a detailed list of all data required by this person, what it is for and how it is being kept. The Chair claims that they GB have acted Strategically in the interests of the school for budgeting purposes to make sure everything is correct and above board. The person in question is a Director of Finance for a MAT, and the MAT is acting as a contractor selling their DoF to us for this role only. We have (although I am waiting on this paperwork) a contractual agreement with the MAT that the data the DoF will have will only be for his eyes only, to complete the task the GB have requested and will be destroyed at the end of the task, and will not be shared at all with any other member of the MAT. I have been assured that although he is from a MAT, he is hear because of his professional qualifications in school budgeting only, and not as a role from the MAT. I have been formally requested by the Head to comply, within the Data Protection Act, and within the GDPR from the 25th, and no data will be shared with the DoF until I have in writing any information/data he requires. On a side note, our entire finance team have categorically said that they will not work with this person, due to the way he has been presented to the team and they feel undermined in their job roles which I cant disagree with at all. Thanks all for your comments and guidance, it all really helped a great deal. ** We are not in RI or Special Measures, "We are a good School" ** -

That's a scary thought on its own!!! We are an SEN school, so an academy approach would be terrible! -

Thanks Local, we are an LEA school. I'm not convinced the head actually knows what is going on. I have worded the email outlining my concerns as I have still not had any official response regarding the data he is asking for. I have only had a request he has access to his own email and internet. See what happens I guess, as you say if the Head signs off, then I am stuck. -

Right, see the Chair of Governors and Head. Chair has asked this guy to come in, he is a Director of Finance for some big Academy trust (nothing to do with us!) to come and have a look. He was initially put to our head as someone to assist with our SBM to set the budget, something she has already done. In reality, he wants to go through everything (in essence an audit under an different name). I have been told he has to have internet access so he can access email. Got this in writing from the Head. I have told the Head that as far as I am concerned, he cannot have access to any information or access to our FMS unless he puts forward a FOI, this appears to have been ignored. (although I still have not given him access) I am going to word an email to the Head, Deputy, Chair and Vice Chair about my concerns over this, and state that should any data leave the site, then I consider it a Data Breach and will report it as that. I am fuming, the SBM is fuming, our HR Manager is going stir crazy but the Head is oblivious and clearly blind sited by the Chair! -
