  1. Head has allowed him to use his own machine, our guest wifi is vlan'd away from the main network so there can be no breach from the networks point of view. Memory sticks, agreed, but our GPO doesnt allow any member of staff access to removable storage.
  2. He is currently using his own laptop on our guest wifi which provides internet access only.
  3. I am very sceptical at the moment, from what I gather it has come from the Chair of Governors but had no official confirmation either verbally nor written as to whats going on, just implying what and who so I am sticking to my guns! He has since asked why we ban memory sticks on site, and why cant he get to any website he like!!! You couldn't make this up!
  4. Agreed with you there, unfortunately my SBM is trying to say no chance but its not working, hence why she asked me to step in a say no from the Network Managers point of view.
  5. No idea who he is except Richard from this school. No idea on his role. He certainly has not be hired to do any work that I am aware of. Chair of Governors has nothing to do with the running of the school. He has given me no information to what he was to view/see/edit, and only mentioned, we will see what your Chair says when she gets in at Lunch.
  6. Help please, Just had a bod turn up from a different LA and a different school asking for his own login into FMS. He has not at any point supplied a list of what he whats access to, just full access to FMS. I have said categorically no chance, you are not employed by the school, and not from our LA, but he may guide one of our staff members to go through what information he requires. I have told our interim-head and new head who both agreed, but the bod replied, we will see what your Chair of Governors says when she gets in at lunch. Can anyone give me ICO guidance or regulations that will aid in stopping the request as as far as the Head, Business Manager and myself can see, he is here to nose around. Thanks All.
  7. We're with Gamma, have been since September with no issues at all.
  8. The Misses and I have Fitbits, partly for the community/friend sharing part. She has an Alta for the size, I got the Charge 2 HR, because its more "Manly" in size lol and at the time the only one that would do Heart Rate. To be honest though, the straps are rubbish, and FitBit are really backwards in coming forward to replacing them under warranty when the things fall to bits. Ended up super gluing my strap back together, been good a gold since!
  9. Try a different supplier of Inventry, if you ring them they will send you to Virtue Tech which we're expensive compared (and I heard they have a company link somewhere) to IDNS who are also resellers, saved quite a bit by shopping around!
  10. Happily, the on screen keyboard now shows the correct size on our PC's running the Clevertouch TV's with 1803. That'll please the staff when I eventually get round to rebuilding them!
  11. Get around is Google the app you want, grab its app ID form the address bar and add it to the end of this link: https://volume.itunes.apple.com/gb/app/ Bit of a long winded thing, but it works
  12. The short answer is no you don’t with certain exceptions. The longer answer is that there are legal obligation placed on schools to keep registers of those who attend site for various reasons including The Education Act and The Health & Safety Act. This legislation requires schools to keep records and the choice of how you do this is down to you. Thats what Inventry says about their software, so wouldnt it be the same for SIMS?
  13. All blocked here onsite, that said my own children play at home, yes the correct parent setting are on, especially in Roblox, but all my children know how to handle people who try things on so to speak. I have always been open and honest that certain people in the world are not very nice and will ask certain things, and they know to be open and honest with me and their Mum. I feel most of the time its education, and parents dont want that conversation with children and play ignorant with the internet.
  14. My advise, call Paxton. I have phoned them a couple of times and although they didnt do the install, i was told they will always support their products regardless.
  15. Manually update the microscopes drivers in device manager, once done, grab it from the driver store and deploy it via gpo or build it into the windows iso....
  16. None of our paxtons controlled doors have the green break away openers. We are a new build, fully fire tested and approved. I dont think it is a requirement as the doors automatically open in the event of a fire that is not reliant on software control. This system is tried and tested here, termly evacs to test things, no problems. I would speak to your local fire safety people and check, but as I say, for us in a new build, we did not need the break glass to release door panels. On a side note, 95% of our fire breaks are key operated, with keys being out of reach of our lovelies to stop them just setting off fire alarms at their will, and all staff being issued with a fire key as an additional precaution. We are a special school though, so may be a little different in requirements?
  17. We have 50 EDU currently deployed, like your, every room with no issues at all, they do overlap slightly but no actual problems in their use/connections. Happy to talk in more depth if you want more info!
  18. I do all my small downtime first thing in the morning around 6am before staff arrive.. Gives me nearly an hour to swap switches, restart equipment before it causes issues.
  19. Just with SIMS8 / Sim Primary. The new FMS package which would also be online like SIMS8 is called SIMS Finance.
  20. Got the microscopes working here in Win 10 Pro x64 with the native app from the CD. Driver below. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1tXCBmx6QKXgCzLNW2xQkPkj_9YrvS4Go
  21. I have a x64 driver that works fine on Windows 10 x64 with the native Digi Microscope app.... I was quite surprised! https://drive.google.com/open?id=1tXCBmx6QKXgCzLNW2xQkPkj_9YrvS4Go
  22. SIMS Primary is completely hosting online with website/app based logins... Not like the current hosted option of RDP to a server and loading SIMS. Downside if FMS is not going online to schools for another year after, it is only for Academies/Trust schools, so you will still need a "SIMS" server to run FMS.
  23. Try to manually install the MSI's, /passive will do it for you. If it fails with a manual install, then call Widgit. InPrint3 will fail to install if the licenses have run out on Widgits server side, may need them to reset the count. I had that problem after rebuild a load of machines.
  24. Looks like a day rate site visit to me! Id be questioning the time onsite verses the cost.
