About mattwilkinson7

  1. When in Edit Local Users and Groups, I cannot select and apply the setting "User cannot change password". The account is a local administrator. I get the error message attached in the photo when I click Apply. Does anyone have any ideas how I can enable this setting or what could be preventing it from applying? Thanks!
  2. When installing Windows 10 the default mail icon is always on the taskbar. I ran a PowerShell script to remove the icon from the taskbar, which I thought would remove it for all users. But it only removed it for the administrator logon that I used to run the PowerShell script. Does anyone know how to hide this icon for all users? Thanks!
  3. When trying to open Outlook in Windows 10 Enterprise v1903, I am receiving the error messages shown in the screenshots attached.. Does anyone know what could be causing these messages to come up when launching Outlook, and why Outlook closes shortly after launch as well. It seems as though Outlook does not seem to be able to make the connection to our mail server. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!
  4. We do have roaming profiles but the account that isn't working is not a roaming profile. It just creates an instance of the logon on every pc.
  5. I'm experiencing an issue when logging into Windows 10 as certain domain users, I was able to logon fine with my staff account, however when going in as a student, I get the error message shown in the screenshot attached, and they are logged in as a temporary account. I have deleted the profile from Regedit, but all this does is cause logon to take ages the next time I try to login. And since this is a domain account, it just repeats the same situation when you login again. Does anyone have any ideas about what could be causing this? Thanks.
  6. There were no existing policies that I could see, and it is only happening on one machine.

  8. There are some errors related to folder redirection. And then there is one that says; The Winlogon notification subscriber was unavailable to handle a notification event.
  9. When I log on to Windows 10 as an administrator, immediately I get a message saying "This app has been blocked by your system administrator". But the app in question appears to be File Explorer. I don't understand why something as fundamental as File Explorer would be blocked by administrator. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
  10. There is one, however it is not related to Cortana, that one is for a third party application that was installed
  11. Hi, I'm having difficulty using the search function in Windows 10, the search is somehow disabled, as shown in the image above. I have checked that Cortana is not disabled and it isn't so I'm unsure what could be causing this. Does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks,
  12. Hi I'm just wondering how to hide the Web tab from within the Windows 10 start menu search? I have it done on one machine, but I don't know how I did it/what did it. It could be a registry key? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!
  13. I am an Admin user, and I needed to disable access to Regedit for non admin users. Therefore I created the following key in Regedit; HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Policies/System/DisableRegistryTools. I set DisableRegistryTools to a value of 1. Unfortunately now I am locked out of Regedit as an admin as well, and because I made the change in Regedit, I cannot get back in. I have tried changing the registry key using command prompt but this didn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks. Also while I'm here, I need to remove the PowerShell folder from the Windows 10 application list for non admin users, how could I do that?
  14. We have several installations of CrossTec SchoolVue, however we are having issues with a particular one. When we try and boot up the PC's through the CrossTec tutor console/PC, four PC's do not respond, they do not power on like the rest do. I have tried flashing the BIOS on the machines with different versions, I am also investigating the Wake on LAN and Magic Packet settings. Does anyone have any experience of this issue in CrossTec? Thanks!
  15. In Word 2016, when navigating to open from the File menu, the options for Add a Place and OneDrive do not appear. Does anyone have any ideas about what might be causing this? Thanks,
