One to watch for is time adrift by seconds can cause issues, I had a mobile of a user that wasn't set to use system time, although it looked right it was enough to cause issues, one to keep an eye for with MFA.

It would appear the mouse is faulty, will be getting it replaced from Dell.

Difficult one, firstly car tax rules are changing soon I believe for cars newer than 2017 I think but don't quote me so that might factor into things. Fixing it is going to be cheaper than a new car, I've had my car since 2019 it was 3 years old, had 30k on the clock and its got 103k on it now, realistically its got another year till paid off, it was a car I never wanted but my previous ECU died and after having issues for 6 months I bit the bullet as I needed it for work but I ended up with something to meet the company car criteria for work at the time, having know I was leaving I wouldn't have got that so don't get caught in that rush if it does go. The year mine went it had been pad off 6 months and was immactulate and the plan was to keep that for work and buy a toy as such. If cars start costing me more than £1.5k a year including tax, mot, service, tyres, service repairs then its time to start looking as a rule. I'm looking at my next one a bit of toy, keep what I've got till it does and use it as a workhorse, its an estate and I like the boot space but I don't need that everyday. They can be money pits but sometimes its worth spending a few quid on them especially as the market is these days.

Turn it off for a week and see if anything breaks, if it doesnt, power it back on for 24 hours let it replicate back up to date then dcpromo it down and remove it then like a normal server.

Do you not have Lenovo support where an engineer will attend site and swap parts?

If you range is on the firewall and set as trusted if the policy hasn't been changed on HTTP HTTPs that will be listed. I manage just shy of 200 Watchguard devices but its not a feature we use so not 100% sure on that side of them.

Do you have a policy listed in policy manager something along the lines of WG-Auth-WebBlocker, is the the address range listed in the from on that or not? Not a part of watchguard I use so not 100% on that but worth a look there first.

Might be the only one but Sharp all the way for me, used other brands not keen on any of then, Sharp has so much more out the box than others, more user friendly than any other and can be customised to your needs more easily. You all say about call outs alot of it is down to end user, the environment and the paper used but the skill of the engineers is another big factor, don't forget when dealing with some of the companies they are just Sharp resellers and not direct, as a Sharp reseller engineers get sent on courses but its weather they dealers are sending their staff on them to maintain them properly. You will also find some dealers use compatiable toners which goes against everything Sharp say so they can make a few quid more. Xerox only ever used to be used along with Toshiba in print rooms for the quality as it was supposed to be better. Toshiba is another brand I could get behind but has a few quirky ways of doing things I didn't like to Sharp but both solid machines.

Just a heads up for those that use this Lexmark printer of this product recall. There is a potential fire hazard and there is a product motification.

DHCP option 43 and my server IP is set.

I have a DHCP option set to point to my Unifi server so it knows where to look for adoption. Any VLAN changes are done manually on the switch. Biggest thing is getting them adopted, I tend to plug in a switch and adopt 20 at a time. By default it look for unifi so you could create a DNS record to point to your Unifi server that way.

Thanks for that, I plan to just use it as a boot medium and then dump or read the file from the NAS. I can create a DHCP option to specify the server just need to get it to point somewhere although I don't want to bring up a machine to host this on if I can help it hence using USB boot.

Thanks for the reply, this is exactly what I want to achieve. So do you have a server running Clonezilla then? I was hoping I could achieve the same using a USB stick and dumping a similar file on that so when I boot from USB I get the option.

I do disk to disk, dump the file on my NAS in a share. I don't do it very often but would of been nice to fire it up and then all I had to do is put the file name in and the rest of it is taken care of rather than having to selection the options each time.

That looks like proxy settings on your PC are kicking in, try turning off your proxy settings in your browser and seeing if it works, if you cannot try using Firefox as you can easily change the setting in there. Also does the address need a port adding to the end to access it. Might be worth checking the make and model online.

Is it giving you an error because of the likes of certificates and your browser won't let you bypass it, have you tried Firfox for example, you can tweak the config if it wont connect due to TLS version. Might be worth looking at that or post a screenshot of the error you are getting.

The batteries themselves are not that expensive in im option to replace. If I am honest with you unless the rest of the site has power what is the point of having a UPS as nothing will be able to connect to the servers that are powered on! You can get generator solutions to power whole buildings for a reasonable price if your going to do it!

Batteries no more than 5 years old. The UPS I would only replace if its faulty. One thing we have neglected to do is get the UPS serviced by a professional, never discharge batteries there just left there ticking along, so probably don't get the best out of them. I do recommend swapping batteries out they don't last forever and don't let them to get to a point where they smell like rotten eggs and you cannot get them out of the physical UPS. You can swap them with no downtime too.

I want to buy new as I do get the use out of my machine, I've had this one since around 2018 and its pretty much on 24/7 doing something. Quite happy with my dual 27" monitor setup so not looking to change them, that will be next time.

Thanks for the replies, been looking at eBuyer as I get most bits there but higher end I wasnt sure. I've used Overclockers in the past but they are pricey, will have a look at the others. Not in any rush just need to upgrade in next few months ideally.

I use Clonezilla from a USB stick to take images and sometimes restore them. I haven't worked it out and struggling through the documentation I believe you can from a config file in somewhere that specifys all what you set so the path where your imaging to, file size etc etc all I want it to then do is prompt me to name the file and away we go. Can anyone help? Also has anyone got it working in a PXE environement, do away with the USB drive and go from there? Any hints and tips?

Where is anyone getting computers from for home now? Minimum spec is i5/Ryzen 5, 16Gb ram. Looking at 32+Gb ram ideally, semi decent graphics as work with lots of images nothing too fancy, could buy off the shelf, support 2 monitors, any recommendations?
