  1. Don't forget to get your equipment calibrated if you are doing it in house.
  2. Thanks for the replies, updates are not a massive concern as I have another util dealing with that, but will have a look at the others.
  3. Just an overview of all the machines, wasn't sure what was out there, very rarely need to make changes but would be nice to centralise it if I can, only playing around so thought I'd ask.
  4. Paxton intercoms, they come with the handsets or have a look at Blink door bells (no subscription needed) integrates with Home Assistant create some sort of notification. I use mine at home with an Alexa to announce there is someone at the door.

    Linux Management

I have a bit of a home lab now running on a Promox host, a number of the servers are now Debian, I've only ever had a a few Linux servers so managed them individually, any hints and tips for managing multiple servers if at all any? I am looking at webmin which makes things easier just wondered if anything worth looking at?
  6. Has anyone had any dealings with these as a hardware supplier? Feel free to PM.
  7. Can you put a speed dial button on all phones (if yours do it) for IT pointing to your ring group? Or you could setup an extension number (and manually) provision the phone as line 1 for that (all phones the same) when you dial out thats what is presented and then put a second line on with a different extension for select staff to ring or just between yourselves?
  8. For those not aware you can use post office branches to pay in and withdraw money, they often have longer opening hours and are more convenient to get to.
  9. Scrap that found it now, PacketFence a NAC solution.
  10. Some years back I used a linux based solution that managed VLAN authentication and had guest portal but for the life of me I cannot remember the name of it. It was a leading product but I am struggling to find it, can anyone bouce any names of it so I can find it again? Thanks
  11. I was initially looking at 1p mobile but their T&C's require so much adding to account within a period and I would never use it all based on the useage so would end up with a pile of credit.
  12. I need a cost effective SIM that is purely used for SMS in an alarm, any recommendations as EE have put the price up that makes the plan I had quite expensive for what it is. I could get a Smarty one but includes 5GB of data thats never going to be used and 1p have a committment to spent so much in a 120 day period which I will never do due to the number of text's it will send. Any recommendations out there?
  13. If I was in a previous job think ours was dated early 2000's, replaced a NT domain which was in use till probably 2009 before I turned it off. I know the domain was turned off either late 2024 or early 2025 as it was a bit of a sad day to see it go but not many people around from that time so didnt mean much to many.
  14. I know with Andrews & Arnold on your SIP settings you can get it to ring another number i.e. a mobile if there is an issue/after a certain time period as I have just added it to a trunk my friend uses incase it goes down they get the calls. Could be worth investigating obviously it would cost the call but that could be help. Not sure what you mean about switching IP do you mean for a backup connection, any good provider surely could have both IP's listed then its seemless?
  15. I have found out also that /var/etc/filterdns.conf doesn't like to be more than 750 lines so if you use alias' and one of two of them gets bit it splits its dummy out and won't resolve them.
  16. I think I've actually just fixed it, DNS of all things in general setup and DNS servers no gateway was specified so the alias' would not work. I'm done with it for the night now relook at things in the morning but I know why its done what its done I think now. Spent the entire evening rebuilding NATs and rules!!
  17. Any advanced users here, I've developed what I think is a routing issue with NAT's on my setup at home, I've rebuilt all my NAT's and still have an issue so wanting to talk to someone like minded if anyone can help. Thanks
  18. Just needs to be Windows - desktop version, server version, Mac/Apple, Linux, Android for example doesn't need specific version, can tag the title when posting if its regarding something.
  19. If you are using site to site VPN some hardware does have limits on speed also got to factor in other traffic that maybe using the connection when testing.
  20. Totally agree with the above (Davit2005).

    HA HA RAM

I got 8 sticks of 8GB for some 3 or 4 year old PC's for less than £30 each online a few weeks back to double up an office of PC's.
  22. Just add absence2 mailbox to the distribution list and away you go. In old exchange days you would just remove the DL and then add that SMTP address to that mailbox.
  23. Now resolved, changed to using a distributions list which instantly fixed the issue and everyone getting them. Clearly a bug that it doesn't sent to all emails if you do it that way.
  24. I am just carrying out some reorginisation of my home network, I currently have a VLAN for my network i.e. PC, laptop, phone. I had a seperate guest network which I had the likes of my Alexa's on but creating a new seperate IoT VLAN what network would you put the following devices on; Sonos speakers, Sky boxes, Alexas and Hive heating? I already have my doorbell, car charger and tapo plugs will be moved over, no reason any of the devies need to be on the LAN just restricted internet. The Sonos needs to talk to the NAS for Music which I can allow, just wondered what your thoughts are?
  25. Are you using hostname over IP? Are you allowing VPN protocols to those IP's? What do your firewall logs say?
