EE WiFi Calling - IP Ranges
MatthewL replied to Zoom7000's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Are you using hostname over IP? Are you allowing VPN protocols to those IP's? What do your firewall logs say? -

Yeah that is what I am getting at the moment. Going to look at it again in the morning and go from there. -

MatthewL replied to supps's topic in Network and Classroom Management
Not sure what costs have gone to but find PRTG one of the best to use and easy to use, not too difficult especially is already setup with it. -

This is on premises box rather than cloud. -
We have daily notifications setup and users are receiving these, its also setup to send instant notification if anyone attempts to do on something they shouldn't. A number of staff are getting them but a few are not, I have done a message trace in Exchange and its not been sent, is there anything I need to do in smoothwall for a user to get a instant notification?

Floor/Port number works well, cab/port number also works, both have pros and cons. Having worked in a site with multicabs it does help if its a big site (talking hospital scale), would except in a school you would know which cabs serve what areas.

I have seen UGREEN appear out of no where recently, good to see a actual review on it.

I've had no issues, can you move the computer to an OU with no GPO been applied or even unjoin it from the domain and try it incase a policy is causing it at your end?

There is space for a 2.5" but I don't have spare money to buy a drive at the minute that is my issue. It's ok for it to spin down but if I'm working on say a database it spins down within minutes whilist I am working on it, so you get that delay.

The new PC is a mini so the OS is on a M2. I have a separate 3.5" SATA drive with over 2TB of my data on, the first choice would be put it in the case but its too small!

Drive is only from 2021, its a WD Black. I've had it in the PC since 2021 plugged direct in the board but unable to do on this new one.

I've just replaced my PC with a HP Mini due to my old one not supporting Windows 11 and as its a mini I could not fit the hard drive inside so its now on a USB powered caddy and working fine except it powers down even though power settings are set to not let it do so. Any places to look as its not one I've come across before, have been through power management and device manager but nothing working.

Worst Account Manager interaction i've ever had.
MatthewL replied to DalekSec's topic in General Chat
Ask for their managers details then get a complaint it. EE are normally good, looks like you got a bad one there. -
You can get numbers from Andrews & Arnold for £1.44 a month!! Just pay call costs.

I'm after a favour from any Vodafone SIM users, can you let me know what public IP range you are getting when on mobile data please? Not got a device on Vodafone I can test but want to allow something through a firewall without opening it up to everything in the world or all of Vodafone if I can help it. Thanks in advance.

What is the noise like on the TX1320's?

Why do you pre-create them? Surely just let it create them as you join and then move them.

I am after a refurb server for home to replace a number of SFF PC's currently in use. After installing Promox and hosting a mix of Linux and Windows server, will need 128GB RAM, 1 or 2 TB storage for the VM's in a raid, will be looking at running maybe 12 boxes mainly Linux so nothing too tasking. One thing I am looking for if possible is USB ports that I can pass through to the VM's from the host. Anyone got anything out there for a good price?

4/5G sims in devices will be best option less to go wrong. You could pole mount something, have a router and/or AP in place, plus your battery, if you are going to put the hardware on a timer so its not sat running all day and overnight killing the battery. In the winter you might find solar isn't enough. There are plenty of industrial routers out there that are designed for such thing Peplink, Teltonikta, might not be cheapest but ideal for it. How far do you want the WiFi to go because that could be the next issue.

Which ISP/ Speed / Redundancy do you have?
MatthewL replied to denzal2k4's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
I've run orginisations of serveral thousand using a 1GB connection and its never peaked, we had a leased line and then a normal FTTP connection and it worked a treat.
