Is this not the wrong way round? Shouldn't it be What content, apps and programs do teachers and SLT want access to? What device will best deliver those ? A lot of people always seem to get this mixed up.

I am really enjoying my HTC one X - Great camera , great Phone and really nice design. only issue is battery life and the fact you cannot change the battery yourself.

I would just like peoples opinions really on where they think the future of web filtering in schools will go if the ISPs start offering this services by default as the government wants then to on domestic broadband. Talk Talk are starting the push I know they are talking about domestic connections but if they can do it for them they can do it for education connections especially as this is to "protect the children". If they do provide this service what will it mean for the likes of Smoothwall and Cyber patrol and so on in which i am sure a few schools spend a few pounds om each year.

Just another example of how out of touch our ruling bodies are, They should manage public life such as taxes and public services and stop getting to involved in how we live our lives. I wish i had millions to blow on lobbying the Government to stop this nonsense. How much was dinner with Cameron again? The internet should stay free no matter what these clowns think , its up to people how they use it and how they teach their children to use it as well.

We have it here as a hosted solution for the purpose of letting teachers do reports at home and also share information with parents. Nearly 2000 parents accounts have been issued of which we have used it for a single Year group, getting reports this way. Captia claim we cannot get any reports on usage. I do a few password resets now and then. Not many teachers use it at home now as they claim it to be to slow and not very user friendly. And due to seeing no reports i am not sure how many parents are using it. I myself do not like the system , its expensive (+ cost of letters to 2000 parents) , clunky to use (especially the report hosting feature) and not very engaging for parents who do not really use it anyway. Is there a yearly fee for this as well? I was not part of the procurement of this system but now support its use.

What the best way to do this on XP? as no Live MM is available for XP

Hello, I am looking at the best solution to get a class set of e-readers which will be both robust and nice to use aswell as being straight forward to manage at school. We have had some Sony PRS-350 e-readers which i found were not suited to out needs as everyone had to be registerd to a computer and a adobe account and you could register 6 per computer blah blah, blah blah.....anyway the stylus`s seem to raiser to break as well so i do not want any more of those. The solution i would like would be a central server of the e-books we buy which we could then put on the e-readers as and when they are required and then give then out to the students. any ideas or help on this matter would be gratefully received.
