Just wondering if anyone is using Groupcall Emerge and are running in to problems with the staff logging in with "Error authenticating user" messages. Logging them out and back in fixes it but not forever. This issue also doesn't seem to effect everyone rather bizarrely. The Xporter log has error messages system exception error relating to the failed user authentications. I'm currently dealing with Support but it's slow going and they didn't even bother reply to my last email when they claimed everything was fixed with the Android client even though I have told them we use iPads exclusively. Everything use to work until they "updated" it.... sigh...

And Capita Support got back to and blamed it on a "usability issue". Yeah because you really should be able to accidentally mark every child in your class with a unknown absence mark. Not please at all.

Config 2 straight up garbage, anyone who tested it and provided Apple with feedback during the beta should be ashamed of themselves. I can get it to work with my work flow as I use Casper MDM so my usage of Config 2 its kept at a minimum. I still don't know how to delete a blueprint, awful UI design.

Brilliant, Capita doing a sterling job as usual then.

I got migration working.... but it created two "blueprints" one is my standard wipe, manage and policy dump for wi-fi and trust cert. The other was based on the last iPad I managed with the old configurator and have no idea what the hell it's doing. The layout of Config2 is mind bogglingly bad, why don't I have a list of managed devices, or am I supposed to and it just didn't bother to migrate it? Why can't I seemingly delete blueprints, more to the point what in the living hell are blueprints and why can't I change settings in them? I thought this new version was supposed to be easier to use, it looks anything but.

Long shot but has anyone with run in to a issue with the Sims teacher app not saving the register marks correctly? It used to work before the summer holidays but for the past few days during testing (thank god it was just testing!) with a year group it fails to record any of the registers properly and marks all the children as absent. Sometimes if they attempt to re-save it it will save the marks correctly but thats rare. Im gonna guess and say that the permissions are correct due to the registers saving correctly once in a blue moon.

Nope it's not the software at fault but Apple for removing Ruby 1.8 from Yosemite for no good reason other than to break software compatibility. The work around is a kludge and I'm even surprised that even works but it does work... well for now.

I do believe the Philips screens aren't compatible with OSX, i'm actually quite surprised it's working at all. You could try and find what touchscreen technology it uses and see if any other screen manufacture use it and support OSX then try there tools but I couldn't even being to tell you where to start. You could also just boot camp them in to Windows but I don't think that really wouldn't go down in a Apple Regional Traning Centre.

Can't wait for them to completely break AD integration again!

Don't use Prolific chipset based adaptors, try and find a FTDI chipset one instead. Startech from what I can remember does various USB-Serial adaptors.

Are all the various ports used by Profile Manager open? OS X Server: Ports used by Profile Manager

You could make a login script that removes the local user directory and then makes a symlink to the network drive. rm -rf ~/Documents ln -s /Volumes/$USER ~/Documents

The best thing about OSX is DeployStudio Oh any why in the hell has Apple got rid of resolution stretching in Mountain Lion?!?

Mine still loading after 15mins of waiting.... sigh I suppose trying to load it just before the iPhone 5 launch was asking to much

Do you use a .local domain? If so Apple screwed that up even before Lion (of course they made it worse in Lion!) came out and I wouldn't expect them to fix it in 10.7.3 either. The primary problem is that .local domains are used for bonjour services exclusively (the primary change in Lion) and OSX tries to resolve all .local domains with multicast first. It will try that many times with 5 second timeouts before resorting to standard DNS. You can get around it but it does have it draw backs, here is a workaround guide Centrify (AD Osx plugin) made. http://www.centrify.com/downloads/public/centrify-directcontrol-for-mac-local-domain-workaround.pdf

Yup let's hope Intel counters by dropping the price of the current Sandy Bridge CPU line and finally release the Extreme editions even tho they will be hideously expensive.

I have... good service etc but it's not the cheapest place.

I would wait at least until the beginning of next month, AMD are due to launch their next gen CPU around June 4th(ish). Might as well sit tight and see if its any good.
