Securus - how about the government or LEA takes a look at this and strikes up a deal with these companies. The price of this kit is appalling, we found securus very helpful for catching kids out, we tried it out for a month or so. However we could not justify the cost.

I only wanted to display rooms that were available. I have simple drop down boxes which let you select the "week commmencing" then the day and period and it shows you which rooms are aviable. I have an asp solution which runs from a access database if you like? theres loads out there for free MRBS is quite good, i needed a two week timetable and this wasnt really what i was looking for but a lot of schools use it.

Does anyone know of any software that would enable me to explore a ghost image file without writing it to a new disk?

have you tired removing the fan a dissassembling it, oiling it a little, maybe reseating it? Not sure your "high-end" tiny will provide you with any feedback as far as CPU temp goes?

Had a similar problem with same model, had to replace the fan. Luckily i had a few spare parts lying around so was easy for me, step by step with screenshots below: http://www.techno-mart.co.uk/tinyfansink/ Think this is your only solution, quick fix was to pull the fan apart quick clean and reassemble but didnt last long.

obstacles are varied, depending on IT policy within the school. Each case is different, some schools everything has to go to the governing body. Everything here over £4000 goes to governors for aproval. Agree with CyberNerd 90% training, but its mostly experience. The actual use and logical thinking required. We have share point with class server do i honestly beleive anyone will start creating content within the next 2 years, i very much doubt it. Recently i have been offered a new job, assistant network manager. WOhoo The school is embarking on introducing SharePoint services, outlook web access, sharepoint portal for faculties and also the VLE class server. I really know very litte about how they work/intergrate and would really like to learn more about them. We currently have them set up but the person who set up the servers has left and were in a bit of a pickle. Everything is work ok at the moment but cant help but feel something will go wrong very soon. I can use the front ends and understand the functionality but really need to dig deep and find some back-end information on Share Point. If anyone could point me in the direction of some good resources id greatly appreciate it. Also tuition wouldnt go a miss! Cheers

library element in dreamweaver works for me, add the menu to everypage and only have to edit one file - the library element, very similar to above php solution.

I have a simple excel spreadsheet, using some lookups, when i try and fill the cells with identifying colours they dont show up in normal or page break view, but when i view the print preview it shows up. any ideas?

for the hall we fixed a wired projector to the ceiling, ran all the cables to a switch wihch jumps between vcr, cd/dvd, tvtuner, and computer, this works for us, i know wireless sucks!

Our internet is already filtered, provided by LEA, you can alter the dictionary of badwords to remove perhaps the word jar jar as a racist word? aswel as adding bad words to the dictionary. if anyone can give me any pointers for writing a program similar to this, being a neewbie to programming, then please let me know!

We recently tried Securus, i have to say i loved it but what a price!!!!!! really exspensive! Does anyone have any experience of any alternative programs, perhaps open source. I know of a number of open source programs which can perform parts of what securus can do but not combined? Any ideas? id love to develop and open source version of this software.

I was just wondering, i think this discussion has come up before actually, if it is "legal" to play music to an audience in schools. We do this quiet often, Proper CD's not copied or mp3 downloads. I know it says on some CD cases not for public broadcast. How can we make this possible?

39 degrees, In most of the IT labs in school, server room is fine providing our air-con unit doesnt freeze up again and leak all over the UPS again! this is rediculous, what are the health and safety requirments for ambient tempreture for work?

We deplyed encarta through .msi but still had to go round and grant special permissions on some folders and execute some registry files before it would work correctly! its a sod to install
