I seem to be going round and round different websites (mainly apple sites) trying to workout how I migrate our iPads from Configurator 2 to ASM. This seems to be their main page - https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/apple-school-manager/axm200a54d59/web under the section - Add devices from Apple Configurator to Apple School Manager 3. Is successfully assigned to and enrolled in an MDM server linked to Apple School Manager How do I do step 3. The school does now have Mosyle setup (not used yet). But this has been setup to auto enrol devices directly from ASM, so should I be trying to workout how to get the devices into Mosyle? Should I be following the steps further down the page? - Add iOS, iPadOS and tvOS devices with Apple Configurator 2 Should I be following some other steps? Very confused, as I am not used to Configurator or iPads. Thanks

Just wondering how it went?

Looks like January windows updates are causing all sorts of issues..
TwistedHelixis replied to Jcx500's topic in Windows
I have my server updates auto installed from the 24th of each month. How do we know if this update has been fixed? Might it get pulled and replaced or something. Always been curious, if I block this update, does that cause any issues for future updates? What I mean is, surely this update is included in the next update anyway, so the problem will come back then. -
Wanted to update our SQL 2016 (express) SP2 with SP3, but the MS service pack download from this page - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/kb5003279-sql-server-2016-service-pack-3-release-information-46ab9543-5cf9-464d-bd63-796279591c31 seem to want to install the full version of SQL 2016 express, not just the service pack. When I run the update, I get the options page of, basic SQL 2016 (with SP3) install, or custom install of SQL 2016 (with SP3) install. Nowhere does it list update current SQL install with SP3, so I backed out and didn't go any further. Anyone already installed this service pack. Should I just enable optional updates in Windows update and let that do the update? Any help will be very appreciated.

How did it go? When I tested the migration last year I had a few odd issues, mainly to do with DNS, but I did manage to fix them all.

Good luck. I have got to do similar at some point. Let us know how it goes :-)

Upgrading or migrating???

Last week we had SKY fiber to the house installed, but have an odd issue. Some apps on my phone (only some) now take an age to open, sometimes over a minute. Other apps and browsing the internet are lightning fast. For the slow apps, if I disable the WiFi and go 4G they run as normal. I have done a band scan and the neighbours are not using the same channels. I did notice more than one SSID listed for both 2.4 & 5GHZ on the same band, but realised those are the SKY TV box's in my house. I have tested separating out the 2.4 & 5GHZ SSIDs so they have different SSID names, but the apps still run slow when I connect to either. I have also disabled the SKY parental filter, but that doesn't help. Anyone else have this issue, or any idea how to fix it?

Hi all, a few months ago I signed up for Mosyle, so our cart of iPads could be manged. As an introduction Mosyle set the basic settings up for the school, but back then we only had 1 cart of 32 iPads, so they set that it up that the iPads in Apple School Manager would auto deploy to the cart profile in Mosyle. The school have now decided to get a couple teachers an iPad. I have created a teacher profile but not sure what I should do about the auto enrolment to the cart profile in Mosyle. If an iPad gets auto enrolled to the cart profile, can I simply move this within Mosyle to the Teacher profile, or will Mosyle try to move it back?

Help with script to backup the Solus3 database.
TwistedHelixis replied to TwistedHelixis's topic in How do you do....it?
Thanks :-) I'll test both options out over the weekend. -
Hopefully someone already has this or doesn't mind creating me a script, as scripts are just not my thing. Need the script to run as a scheduled task and take a backup of my Solus3 database. Would be handy if it could keep the last 3 versions in the folder and delete older backups, but if needed it can just save a single copy over itself and I can worry about the versions later. Thanks in advance :-)

Do you have DNS Scavenging setup? Think our lease time is set at 4 days.

Just ordered a Dell Vostro 5410, which comes with a USB Type C slot. Does that mean it will work with one of the newer Type C docking stations? Would I be better to get a 'normal' USB docking station?

Why did you have to remind me, now my weekend is ruined :-)
