  1. We have been trying to get our lego robotics software working on our school Chromebooks. The LA control our filtering / firewall and have asked us to configure the Chromebooks to bypass proxy for our LAN IP + 127.0.0.1, but unlike Windows I cant seem to find anywhere in the Admin system that has 'Proxy exceptions'. How should I go about adding those IPs as a bypass or exception?
  2. Just deployed feature update 21H1 onto my test laptop and the printers deployed from the old server. I'll leave the printers on the old server until I'm not so busy, then have a go from the new server.
  3. Thanks. I have just run round and manually added the printer (old server) so most of the staff can now print, which takes the heat off a bit.
  4. Just to try and get everyone printing I have re imported the printers onto the older 2012r2 server. Unfortunatly I cant seem to deploy the printers using GPO, so for the moment I will get everyone to manually add the printers to the laptops so at least the staff will be able to print.
  5. Just noticed that on the client it is using the older driver, even though it lists the newer v4 universal driver in its list of available drivers. If on the client I manually select the V4 driver it still doent print and if i reboot the client it reverts back to the older driver
  6. Over the weekend I migrated our printers to a new 2019 print server. Originally I had issues getting group policy to deploy the new printers to the clients, but found out they deployed fine if I used V4 drivers. Problem is that nobody can actually print. If I click print on a client computer (even as admin), I can see the job go to the print server but nothing actually gets printed. The job seems to leave the server as expected. If I do a test print from the print server itself the job do get printed, so it looks like the printer drivers / settings on the print server itself are OK. Any ideas?
  7. We have not gone as far as the post above, one day I hope. Currently have Drive desktop app running on Windows laptops, it works fine at my 4 schools and has done so for about 4 years now. Pupils now have Chromebooks. Havent even setup AD to Google user sync, they login with AD account to laptop and then login to Chrome if they have never used the laptop before, otherwise it will remember their chrome logon for a while. Google Drive desktop app uses Chrome login to authenticate itself, so that's a lot better now. For users home folders, I got all the staff to drag n drop any files they needed into their Google Drive > My drive. Only had to help a couple of teachers across all 4 schools. Things were a little different a few years ago, but now for all shared server folders I would install Google Drive onto the data server, create all the shared areas and dump all the files inside the correct areas, nice and simple.
  8. It does still show 'Invited', which I assume means they have ben invited but not approved. EDIT - BTW I dont have GAM setup
  9. Are you saying that if the parent logs into Chrome as the pupil, then gets an email to their hotmail account, the guardian aproval will fail?
  10. Just checked the Classroom pupils list and it has 'Invited' next to the pupils name, so assume its not gone through. I'll try to workout if they are logged into Chrome as another user.
  11. I have one parent who gets the Google Classroom guardian invite email, but nothing happens when they click accept. They also have another pupil in the school and it has worked fine for that pupil. Any ideas?
  12. There is also a section further up the page that probably needs completing. As I didn't get any reply last week, I went ahead and completed the first two setions 'data processing' & 'EU data law', plus the section further up the page. Might be best for you to see if anyone replies with a firm yes or no before doing what I have done.
  13. I found all the drivers and a script to install them on the Geo website. It was not on the drivers section but if you go through the FAQ its in there.
  14. ignore that, I had a different laptop infront of me. Still no sound
  15. it was the realtekapo that got me sound :-)
  16. Just extracted the drivers from a GeoBook G1, but not sure which on in the list is the sound driver. Thanks
  17. Just had the following email from Google, I assume I do need to do this but just wanted to double check (UK) We are writing to inform you that we have updated the Data Processing Amendment (“DPA”) for Workspace (including Workspace for Education) and Cloud Identity services (the “Services”) to reflect the new versions of Standard Contractual Clauses (“SCCs”) approved by the European Commission on June 4, 2021. The new SCCs replace the clauses previously approved under Directive 95/46/EC. What do I need to do? You don’t need to do anything if: you are located in Europe, the Middle East or Africa (“EMEA”) and your Workspace or Cloud Identity agreement incorporates the updated DPA; oryou are located outside EMEA and none of the EU GDPR, UK GDPR or Swiss Federal Data Protection Act (together, “European Data Protection Law”) applies to your use of the Services.Otherwise: if your Workspace or Cloud Identity agreement does not incorporate the updated DPA, you need to click-to-accept the updated DPA by following these instructions immediately; andif you are located outside EMEA and European Data Protection Law applies to your use of the Services (e.g. because you use the Services to process personal data relating to EEA, UK or Swiss residents), you need to follow these instructions by October 27, 2021, in order to:certify that European Data Protection Law applies to your use of the Services (to ensure the appropriate new SCCs apply to your use of the Services); andprovide details of your supervisory authority. Please also add details of your representative and/or data protection officer (as applicable), if you haven’t already.
  18. I now its probably not the issue but have you tried to disable the firewall on the VM? Is the VM network going through its own NIC or OS shared?
  19. The iPad is not listed in AC2, I am gussing it was handed to a teacher and they just set it up themselves, who knows. Would this mean I should reset it using iTunes?
  20. I took over a school a few years ago and when I did they had a teacher that looked after the iPads, which was handy as I had never really looked after iPads. The teacher recently left and I have just had an email saying one of the iPads is locked and needs un-locking. Not 100% sure what this means but think it might mean a password was entered in wrongly or something. Just logged into Apple School Manager from home and there are no devices listed, I do remember the school has a mac mini with configurator installed, would I need to use this to un-lock the device? Any advice or pointers before I visit in the morning. EDIT - the message on the screen is - ipad disabled connect to itunes.
  21. Now have access to the portal with passwords, thanks.
  22. So a while back we ordered some DFE windows laptops which have finally arrived, lol. We ticked the option for non managed but they have arrived managed. I just tried to re install windows 10, but can't seem to as even doing that is locked down. Is it possible to re install windows? Should we send them back?
  23. I would try to delete them using CMD or power shell next.
  24. I had something like this a while back but couldn't delete the folder with the file inside, simply dragging the folder (with the file in) to another location was enough to let me delete the folder.
