Yes, I have had a call open with them since last week, all I keep being told is that they are working on a fix. The issue is that we have 900 students with iPads and therefore none of them can use them.

All we've done is create a calendars account within M365. We then create the calendar and share it with edit permissions to the person who is responsible for populating it. Once it's ready, it's then shared to all staff across the trust.

Hi all, We currently use ePraise for our rewards system and the decision has been made to move away and use Bromcom for reward points next academic year. Has anyone gone through this process? If so I have a question which I know will come up. Can current points be exported from ePraise to Bromcom or would we have to start afresh? Thanks Nick

I'm finding that the framework is running well but I've got a few teachers who can't load the teacher dashboard. Tried all the usual cache etc, different browser. No luck.

It's weird you say this, because I thought the same as a non-teacher, but I'm having reports of teachers not being able to load the Dashboard.

Hi all, How is everyone getting on? Do we have any schools moving from SIMS after half term? We will be moving to Bromcom in September!

I think we're at a stage where we can choose one or the other to get going for a September start. (Going live before the summer) I have been wondering something though. Do either Arbor or Bromcom offer a migration map of sorts? As in, could they tell us where the data from SIMS ends up in their systems? For those who have already made the jump is this necessary to know in advance, or is it quite obvious when the data migration is completed?

Sorry to piggyback on this thread, but we're looking at options at the moment and my SLT has asked me to create a feature comparison matrix of SIMS, Arbor and Bromcom. Has anyone else created something similar in the past? I'm struggling to find a definitive list of features online for SIMS mainly, but it's a bit of a minefield.

A migration toolkit sounds like it might make it easier. What does that entail (apart from the obvious). Will it in effect clone my current domain setup onto the new one?

Hello, apologies if this is in the wrong location but I'm after some guidance. We have just had new Servers installed with a new domain in preparation for eventually unifying our MAT. Our current domain and the new domain are both sitting on the same wired network, with the new servers having DHCP disabled currently to avoid any clashes. What would be my best option in regards to migrating users from one domain to another with minimal disruption? We use Macs solely for our client devices so unbinding and rebinding those won't be an issue as their preferences are all controlled by an MDM. Other than that, I'm trying to work out the best route to take. Has anyone else had experience of a setup like this before? Am I better to just bite the bullet and do it with downtime, or does anyone know if I can do it in stages? Other services that would require migrating is RADIUS, BioStore and Papercut/Printers. There appears to have been another update overnight which has knocked ours offline. The login service is stuck on 'transitioning' now! This is something that has worked flawlessly for years and staff are quickly becoming disillusioned with it now.

Ignore this! I waited a bit and now I can ping the other site by FQDN. Simple case of being impatient.

Hello all, I'm attempting to connect to the DNS of the other school in our MAT. We now have a link between the sites and I'm able to ping via IP and connect RDP via the same route. When I try to create a conditional forwarder to the other school's domain I get the message "The server with this IP address is no authoritative for the required zone, I know for a fact it is, as it's the IP of the DC at the other site. I've ignored the message, but I'm still unable to ping the other site by FQDN. Anyone had any experience with this? Thanks Nick

Just to update. I bit the bullet and synced the students only, and the staff did indeed stay untouched. All 1200 students had a soft-match so it's all good. Thanks for your help.

Thanks. I'm going to not sync staff accounts just yet as they've all just reset and logged into their applications using new passwords. If I change them now there'll be bedlam. Students haven't been given new accounts yet, so if I can just sync the student OUs without affecting the staff accounts then I'm onto a winner. I've already made the changes in AD for the students so hopefully should work.

They'd continue to exist on O365 with our primary domain as their username? I'm just a bit concerned that once O365 sees that we're syncing accounts from AD, it will treat the accounts that are on there already differently and change their usernames to onmicrosoft.

Sorry, by "In Cloud" I mean accounts that are created within O365. We want a mixed economy of both on-premised synced acccounts (students) and accounts created manually on O365 (staff) this is because I'll be unable to match AD staff to their O365 account due to username differences.

Hello, We have just migrated to a new Office365 tenancy. Our old one was synced with AD, but the new one is yet to be synced. We have In Cloud users for staff and students on the new tenancy, and for speed the staff have all logged into these by changing their password, so we are managing two passwords for staff. I'm happy to do this, but doing this for students would be a nightmare. In your experience, if I set up AAD connect again to the new tenancy and only SMTP match students, will the In Cloud users be unaffected? I'm planning on syncing staff at a later date, but as long as they still have access to their new accounts and the sync doesn't change their usernames to onmicrosoft then I'm happy. Any advice/confirmation would be appreciated. Thanks Nick
