Clonezilla is probably what you want, I've used it to clone failing HDDs in the past. We use Salamander which makes new classes each academic year with the year at the start (e.g. 2020-11CSc) based on our MIS. All of the classes in a year are managed by a certain account, we use GAM to archive all the classes owned by that account at the end of the year. Teachers can then still find them and reuse posts and this has been working fine for a few years now. With GAM I would print all the courses of a user gam print courses teacher state active todrive I'd then download as a CSV and archive them all; gam csv gam update course ~id state Archived

This is a bad idea in my experience. HDMI cables get damaged easily... and quite frequently in my experience. You WANT that point of failure at the faceplate, in 99% of cases, it's either going to be replacing a short 1m cable at the faceplate or if the faceplate itself gets damaged, a short pigtail vs the cost and time to replace a 5m to 7.5m HDMI cable. Powered USB C docks for teachers laptops is the ideal though (if I had the money) Back to the main thread - Right angle connectors on a horizontal HDMI connection seems to work well. We do have a load of Sahara AV plates in our newly renovated rooms (1+ yr), they are huge and ugly but I don't think I've had to replace an HDMI cable for damage yet and... function over form imo. For this year, we've just used Google Forms. Restricted to the students so they have to log in with their school email to access the form, their email gets added to their response automatically but we also have then asked for name and tutor group on top of that.

Looks tidy - ours are basically the same but we use 38mm x 25mm trunking in the centre, leaves room for any additional that are added in the future. Usually just USB/HDMI/Power but sometimes we get asked for additionals. Would definitely stick a label on the fused spur though, saves going down to just flick a switch haha. @kennysarmy - With the fused spur, you're basically spot on there. Lop the end off the power cable and (get someone sufficiently trained to) wire it in.

We have about 7 or so students with Dexcom glucose monitors now. For the students who have Dexcom devices, we connect their phones to the wireless and have set dexcom.com to "Do not filter" in Smoothwall. Haven't had any reports that it isn't working so far, from what I could tell it is just supposed to upload via port 443 to *.dexcom.com. I'd look at firewall/proxy logs for the student devices to see if it's dropping anything, or if it's something to do with the power settings as above. On Android there are certain sleep settings that can disable background processing etc.

We've used something similar in shared classrooms as we found those were the worst for remotes/hdmi cables going missing. We had a recoiling cable version screwed to the wall then stuck to the remote. Only had one issue - a student had pulled it all the way out and let it go which then recoiled with some force and smashed the remote... was still in the right place though!

For now, we're not asking students to return them. I'll push for disadvantaged students to keep theirs to help with homework/covid catch-up. The rest I will get re-deployed into Chromebook trolleys for use around the school.

Hello, Looking at buying some new switches and following recommendations in previous threads, am probably going to look at getting some ubiquiti switches to see how they are (I'd usually would go with HPE Aruba). One question - what are people using in their schools, the UniFi range (US-48-500W) or EdgeSwitch range (ES-48-500W)? From what I understand, UniFi range is managed via a controller and is L2 only, EdgeSwitches are web/CLI managed and have L3 capabilities (not really required tbh). Thanks

We currently use OneNote synced via Teams and it works fine for our purposes, sections for different areas (e.g. Contacts, Networking, Printing, Processes etc.). It's quite nice now that it's done via Teams so I can access it at home/on my mobile if necessary. I'd recommend using something like Wiki.js (https://js.wiki/) for wiki-like documentation. I find the biggest thing with documentation is that it's not so much what you use, but that you actually use it and update it... oh and that it's searchable.

We also use Axis Camera Station software, we have it installed on a server (One of our old Dell R620's - Dual 2.2Ghz Xeon E5-2660 procs) connected up to a 24TB QNAP NAS. Got about 100 cameras (mostly IP, about 16 are coax) and can record 30 days worth of footage. We just have the software installed as a client on various machines and dictate access to cameras based on AD groups which is nice.

If you go to M365 Admin (https://admin.microsoft.com) and then go to Settings > Org Settings > Organisation Profile > Custom Themes Did they upload an image for a custom logo and then specify the sharepoint URL under "Make the logo clickable"?

Not sure if this is what you're after (or would even work with your system), but we have a bunch of AXIS M7016 Video Encoders that take our old coax cameras and allows us to use it with our Axis camera station server. We've been slowly replacing any of the old coax cameras with newer IP ones where necessary.

It's been a LONG time since I've worked with any macs (although they were 2010 models so there's that!) but no diagnostic LEDs indicates a power problem. 1) Verify your power source - is the socket testing OK? 2) Verify the power cable - does it work well in another machine? 3) Verify the power supply connection to logic board Where did the replacement power supply come from? Have you verified that it works in another machine? If so, this is when I'd start getting out a multimeter to verify voltage/continuity. IIRC, the way iMacs worked is that the actual C14 socket on the back of the iMac fed a cable which then plugged into the power supply. I'd check that cable to see if you're actually getting AC to the power supply. Only other thing I can think of then is it's going to be an issue between the DC Out of the power supply and the connection to the logic board. Can't remember enough specifics about how they were laid out really.

I'd just recommend OSTicket, simple to setup, simple to use. I would also recommend you as an IT Department use a ticketing system rather than just outlook, so much better for organisation, searching historical issues, reporting etc. If you both used OS Ticket, you could use the same instance but create different departments with separate incoming emails (e.g. [email protected] and [email protected])

There's a space between "Microsoft" in your sourcepath - is that an error? Have you tested it without the source path and just initiating it on a test machine via the command line? Below is my configuration - the PIDKEY is just the generic volume licence key. I found running it with the display level in "Full" mode made it easiest for testing, I switched that to "None" after I was confident it was working. We deploy via SCCM so the XML is stored with the rest of the content (setup.exe and the downloaded data). It's then just called using "setup.exe /configure configuration-Office2019-FullVisibility.xml"
