  2. I've had this before after I updated the server from V7 to V8 but it only happened the first time we connected to the server with our new Mac Suite. What does it look like from the side of the server when it occurs? Does the service stop or do you just see the client connection randomly disappear from the active clients list. Edit: forgot to mention that it seemed to fix itself after it happened the first 2 or 3 times but the server had only been installed for a few minutes so we just put it down to the server not being started correctly.
  3. We use namesco for their MX Filtering which works quite well as you can alter the values yourself and have everything that's blocked dumped in a specified email address. We have however started routing our mail through our sophos firewall which gives us a lot more control over the filtering and also allows us to encrypt emails as well. Regards, Chris.
  4. Hi All, I am looking to sell my Wii U Deluxe Edition with a few games. This will include the following: Wii U + Sensor Wii U GamePad + Dock Wii U Starter Pack 5 Games (Sports Connection, Nintendo Land, Super Mario 3D World, Mario Cart 8, Super Mario Bros.U) Picture shows all this apart from the sensor and power cables below: http://i.imgur.com/4UadTfP.jpg Unfortunately I believe the original packaging was lost due to moving house however I will be able to ensure it is packaged well to avoid damage but if your able to collect the item it will be much easier! I am looking for £160 for this + P&P if you need to posting. Please feel free to post or PM any questions. Regards, Chris.
  5. Someone on my Facebook just posted this: Not sure if April fools or serious....
  6. All the comments on that video are full of hate but i don't think it looks that bad. I guess people will tune in for the first episode so if they get that wrong then they can kiss goodbye to a lot of viewers.
  7. Ah right, I get this: Was hoping it gave more info lol but hopefully they are helpful to find the issue.
  8. What happens when you put ad debug mode on and refresh the thread list?
  9. Maybe but I don't see ads myself so possibly a background process I guess. That said its literally only happened a handful of times and not since the most recent build.
  10. I had that once or twice but it seems pretty inconsistent and I can't see a specific cause.
  11. I'm not seeing them either.
  12. We are having the same problem with that Impero process and it's currently with their QA and developers. Our symptoms are that when users log out it either gets stuck logging out or prompts that imperowinlogon end now task which still doesn't actually log them out. The only way to get them to log out is to send a logout command with impero which resolves the issue but then the machines no longer show as being online on the impero console until you restart the service for the server. It is a bit of a pain but all I know is as above which is that it's with QA and the developers are currently implementing a fix for the problem.
  13. I suggest putting this on the support portal and even just a simple message on the phone system saying you have a bit of a backlog of support requests since without the communication it makes dealing with the product extremely frustrating but at least if this message was made clear in the support portal people wouldn't have the expectation of getting an immediate response.
  14. check the apache access logs as you will likely see where they got in from there. The following may be of help if your using SSH viewing the logs: cat access_log | awk '{print $8}' | sort | uniq -c | sort -n | tail cat access_log | awk '{print $2}' | sort | uniq -c | sort -n | tail - 100 You may need to change the print ID to match the correct field in your logs but one should output the top accessed files and the other should show the top IP's in your access logs. Should help finding the targeted files.

    Mac Mini Help!

I believe our MDM does have this feature but it only supports Apps with identifiers. I'm not sure if I'm right in thinking that programs such as Microsoft Office have those identifiers as they are not installed through the App Store but I assume I would have more control when using the Mac Server anyway since it's a product from Apple directly which usually means it has less restrictions than a 3rd party MDM solution.

    Mac Mini Help!

Currently this isn't something we have as most of the information I found regarding the mac server mentioned it was good for managing printers and shared drives but I wasn't sure how it works with domain users. Is this something worth setting up?

    Mac Mini Help!

Hi All, It is sad times for us as we have started to go down the route of Mac's for our music department and they have now arrived ready to be setup however we have run into issues with setting up restrictions on the Mac as we are not quite sure how to do it! We currently have the Mac's setup on the domain without any problems and we have a MDM solution which helps with some restrictions however users are still able to access things like terminal and the app store and we don't want them doing this! I expect there is a way to restrict these things but I'm not sure how to go about doing this so if anyone has any suggestions or could advise how they manage Mac's it would be a great help! Also if anyone has Impero setup on a Mac if they could advise how they deploy the browser add-on to every user as I can't figure out how to do that either since it appears to be a per user installation rather than installing it to the entire system (although the Impero client itself is on the entire system and works fine). Regards, Chris.
  18. I can't think of any way to manage the deployment of both steam and the games as the games would likely need to be on their own account and they would need the privileges to run/update the games when required. I remember when I was in college they had one of the computer science rooms as a games room as well so each machine had steam on but it was restricted to a local account which a member of staff would log the machines being used in with. Also the games were all on accounts managed by the college so the games would be booted up ready to play but they were all free to play games so counter strike wasn't something that was played. I don't think paid games is a good idea here but it does require a certain amount of trust which isn't always a good idea with some prats you find in college.
  19. That's ridiculous, they may as well have just come over and smashed the controller with a hammer and told you to go buy another one. Anything under warranty shouldn't cost you an arm and a leg to receive and frankly the fact they damaged the item themselves means they should wave any costs. Very bad practice for any company!
  20. It seems that when you enable notifications they don't disappear since I opened the app and checked my notifications and marked the unread posts as read and it still shows 4 notifications on the app on my home screen. Even if I open the notification menu on my iPhone and open the notification itself it still doesn't remove the number of notifications on the app itself.
  21. I like it also, very responsive and easy to navigate but I'll see how it goes for the next few days.
  22. Not sure if this is the right place but it is internet related, if you use heart internet they have experienced a total power failure at their main data center so customer websites are offline along with VPS's and Dedi's I believe. It seems they are keeping people updated on facebook and twitter however but if anyone wants to post here if you have any problems i'll see what I can find out.
  23. If the director of IT is saying no to the solutions then there isn't much you can do. Frankly I agree with MYK-IT since it would be the most logical solution to take the problem away from the OS and just let the splitter do the job instead.
  24. Do you have any machines with the same setups which work without any issues or is it affecting all your machines which are set to duplicate? If it's affecting all of them I would say it's more likely a windows related bug of some sort as I have seen similar issues with Windows 7 but it happens extremely rarely and for no apparent reason. If this affects all your PC's which are set to duplicate have you tried a machine on Windows 7 or Windows 10 just to see if the same problem occurs since that may be worth looking into to try and nail down where the issue is occurring (hard, software or the OS itself).
  25. Two possible options: Heart Internet - I used to work for them, stable servers and UK based in both hardware location and support. Tsohost - Also UK based, not used them myself but I know many people who do and it comes highly recommended.
