Thanks all, I agree it's up to the ICT department with the HTML teaching but mainly i just wanted to have an idea what others used or have experience with. They like the idea of visually creating the website which is why coffeecup was an option since it is very easy to use but also lets them dabble with code like you would in notepad. I'll give them a few options and see what they come up with but @Fazza I expect your correct since some of the PC's don't event have graphics cards in them but I think the plan for one of the ICT suites is to get some refurbs (since the machines are about 7-8 years old now) and buy some cheap GFX cards to handle iClone for all the other ICT rooms. We do also use Kodu and one PC which has one of my own GFX cards in has Blender on for a specific pupil but again I was just curious about what software others were using for the same subject.

Hi All, We have noticed our ICT department has some difficult requirements due to the software they are using currently and would like to try and move away from some of this software so we don't have to support the high requirements. The two main pieces of software are: Sharepoint 2007 iClone 5 We have the software 'CoffeeCup' as a possible replacement to sharepoint 2007 since it's used to teach HTML and has been for many years hence why it's never been changed but since we are starting to deploy x64 operating systems we don't really want to continue to use old software. If anybody has any other suggestions to replace sharepoint 2007 we are happy to take a look and pass on our recommendations to the ICT department. The main software we want to replace however is iClone 5 since this was purchased against our recommendations and has high spec requirements (RAM and GFX) which we cannot afford to meet. The machines currently running iClone will crash often since the internal GFX cannot handle the animation at all so we want to replace this software but are unsure what we could use. The main features of iClone which are preferred are the fact you can animate easily since there are lots of presets for actions like 'waving' however it has the option for you to add custom actions and custom objects which are required for part of the course. If anyone has suggestions for either of these please let us know as we would like to get this software replaced sooner rather than later as we currently need more iClone licenses and would rather not pay for them if we can avoid it! I've seen this happen for a number of reasons which for us are either: 1. Printer is pulling more than 1 piece of paper through incorrectly. 2. Printer driver is causing the extra page to print. In the first instance it was due to the printer needing a clean since it was an old HP laserjet but in the second case we use the HP universal driver and this seemed to be causing the issue but once we updated it the problem seemed to resolve itself! Although no changes may have been made to the driver it may be worth checking if there is an updated version just to see if that helps but those are the only two reasons I have experienced myself. Edit: Also to add that the driver also started randomly malfunctioning for us as well but we aren't sure why exactly since it only affected a small number of clients around the target printer although the driver was pretty old so that's why we updated it. I suppose a corrupt driver could cause this also.

Hi All, We are looking for anyone who has stacks of old DDR2 (or DDR3 if you don't need it!) laptop memory sat in their office as we have quite a number of old laptops in our school which are stuck with 1GB of memory so ideally we need 1-2gb sticks to upgrade these machines. Unfortunately there is no budget for this as the units are being run into the ground and then not replaced so we won't be able to pay for these but we would be more than happy to take them off you if you don't need the old stock. I have started to see this as I have been setting up 6 new iphone 6's for staff and found that the screen wasn't responding on some of them. I thought it was the cases/screen protectors but I did notice it briefly on my 6S so I guess it's a bug in the current iOS.

I'd say that's probably the case but I like the credit idea, seems like the most simple idea but more than likely you will get the answer easier that way than using the debugging.

My only thought on this is that because papercut doesn't log anything more than just 'web print' when you use the web printing you may need to turn on web print debugging to produce extra logs since that may actually record the device, browser or IP/MAC that's sending the requests allowing you to trace it. I believe the following may help: PaperCut KB | How to Enable Debug in the Web Print server We don't use web printing ourselves so I can't be sure if this will work but hopefully it gives you some more useful information!

It depends on what platform your hosting the server on but usually you just need to download the required mod files and then run the modded version of the jar file which executes the server. It's better that you start a modded server from scratch since it will cause less issues with compatibility but you can also try injecting mods yourself with the mod loader. This is how we had it setup however if you end up going down the route of papercut that integrates with ricoh devices fully so you won't need to edit the drivers since papercut handles all the print requests. I would certainly recommend it if you have a decent amount of printers around your site.

If your offering we haven't had a RAM upgrade in a long time and some of our machines are actually still running 1gb and I honestly feel sorry for the staff using those machines but I think everyone's in a similar boat in some way or another.

We have that problem although another issue is that we use a thick cable tie on the back of the PC to stop kids opening the PC (it's not one you can put a screw in) yet they still manage to try their best to get inside for some reason. We also had a classroom in which the kids flipped all the SFF machines upside down so they kept sliding on the desks since the rubber feet were only one on side. I have no idea what possessed them to do that although that room does have machines which are 7 years old now o.o so they probably got bored waiting for the PC to boot!

We have this problem in one of our ICT rooms because the teacher who uses the room only works 2-3 days a week currently so the damage always happens when shes not in school. Thankfully we don't see many other issues as the ICT staff have their own rooms so they make sure to look after it. I found that making it known that the rooms are being checked will prevent this problem and generally if we see a lot of it I'll make sure to visit the room frequently for about 2 weeks until the kids get the message!

So I have gone through the steps to remove and re-add the PXE/WDS setup and now the distmgr log shows the following: PXE provider is already installed.~ $$<06-02-2016 11:29:45.139-60> This happens when re-enabling the PXE option so it seems to think that the provider is already installed when it's not. Not sure how to go about fixing that as the service isn't showing now and the features page shows it as not installed as well so I'm not sure why it's being a pain!

Thanks all for the suggestions. I am working through some of the steps now to try and get WDS reinstalled through SCCM so hopefully that works but if not I'll be going through the guide that @DalekSec posted to make sure the entire installation is setup correctly. In regards to that, I'm not exactly sure since it wasn't me who installed them both on the same box but we got a new server and decided to use it for SCCM and other similar products but the problem we have is that there isn't much local storage on the box! We would use a SAN but we don't have any available we can use currently as our cluster needs to be rebuild so we are currently moving data off the SAN so we can reinstall the windows storage OS since it keeps giving errors! Once that's sorted however we can start to use that SAN for extra storage for some VM's and SCCM.

iPad's don't because, you know, Apple being Apple give you a fancy box instead.

I'll take a look through all the configuration tomorrow to ensure it's setup exactly how I need. Thankfully we do have another server which has an old installation of WDS that we used to use so if I have no choice I could use that to deploy the image as a quick fix. Thanks for the link however as it seems to give a lot of detail which i was lacking on previous guides.

Unfortunately the job was partly done by my network manager however when I picked it up the server was setup but it was setup as a CAS in error so I had to reinstall as a stand-alone primary server which meant I uninstalled system center and reinstalled it again. I had no errors or problems during the install and we then upgraded the installation from 2012 to 2012 R2 SP1 so it should be as up to date as possible. I could look into setting up everything again but there are other SCCM products installed on the server so it would have to wait until my network manager is in next week since he set a lot of the other products up although as far as I know it's bits like the virtual machine manager etc which shouldn't cause any problems with WDS (as far as i know).

Hi All, I'm quite new to using SCCM however I have managed to take an image of both a VM which I am using for a core image and also a new laptop which I wanted to test taking an image of since I need to image about 40 laptops with that same image ASAP. The image has been taken without any issues however the problem I'm having now is that the WDS side of things doesn't seem to be working and the machines don't see the PXE server even when it's enabled. I checked the services and it looks like the WDS service isn't started but when starting it I receive and error as below: In the event logs is: I'm not sure however why this is happening as the WDS role wasn't installed before I installed SCCM so as far as I can see it should work but apparently it's not. I'm a bit stuck now since all the information I can find relates to WDS only installations and don't seem to relate to the same error codes I'm seeing. Anybody had experience with this issue?
