Sounds like something on the board may be shorting since the battery indicator should only warn you when the battery is running low on charge or needs to be replaced. If you have a spare battery just try that anyway to see what happens but if it doesn't help then it's likely there is not much you can do about the warning light. Unfortunately liquid damaged laptops often are never the same again unless your lucky so if the only problem is the battery light I'd call that a winner considering what could have broken instead!

What are the errors your seeing exactly here? I've not used 1 and 1 in a number of years so I'm not sure how their MySQL database setup is but if your using phpmyadmin you will need to ensure the user your using has the correct permission over the database or it will fail to connect correctly (if that is the issue). If you can provide more details then I can advise further or alternatively feel free to PM the URL etc and I can take a look. Chris.

Personally I find this type of issue a huge pain as there really isn't anything (that I know of) which can make this easier. A few idea's would be to keep the equipment that people would want to borrow in your office or a store room only IT has access to so they HAVE to sign when they take something but if the iPads use the same Apple account you could just lock down the iPad through you account if it's not been signed out correctly so eventually staff would learn they can't take equipment without signing for it first. We use an online booking system for camera's so if they do go anywhere off site we won't let them be taken out our office until it's been correctly requested. I'm sure others may have better solutions however but that's just how we deal with our cameras. Chris.

Although nobody has posted yet we have managed to find a work around here by setting the staff members appdata help on the staff server to be available offline which seems to resolve the issue however as to why this has become a problem with 64 bit we are unsure but at least we have a working fix now. We have not however managed to get it fixed using group policy yet but as 64 bit laptops are quite rare in the school it shouldn't be much of an issue as of yet. Hi All, We are currently seeing an unusual issue with our staff laptops in which after upgrading them to 64bit and installing any version of office we have (2010 or 2013) the user is unable to load up office correctly when they are not on the network. This means that the staff members are unable to use their laptops at home since as soon as they open office it prompts them with the following error: Your AutoCorrect file, MSO2057.acl, could not be saved. The file may be read-only,or you may not have permission to modify the file. If the laptop has a network connection in the school this will not happen as it seems the autocorrect file is kept on our network but we have never had this problem with 32 bit installations so we are quite stumped as to why this is happening only on 64 bit machines. Could anyone suggest why this may be happening and if possible any fixes for this as most articles point to the file being corrupted or broken in some way however this is a case of the file being missing but since it's looking for it on a network that it has no access to placing the file locally doesn't help since it won't look for it locally. Also we have tested this by installing office completely off the domain however as soon as you hook up the laptop to the domain and login as a member of staff if you then unplug the network connection it will give this error. Thanks for the suggestions guys! We have been wanting to look into VM's for a while but it's not been a priority until we had this request come in from a few of the students. The network does block a lot of scripts however but some of these kids are quite bright and we don't want to give them the temptation to mess around with scripts in notepad++ since it makes reading scripts a lot easier so if we only give them this platform to use notepad++ they won't be as tempted to try and mess about with scripts on our systems. Hi All, I am unsure if this is the correct location to post this as it fits under lots of categories but basically we have a few students who are part of a games club where they use gamemaker and a few other type of games development software however these students wish to use notepad++ to make it easier for them when writing some parts of their games. Now my network manager doesn't wish to allow them to use notepad++ as it would make it easier for students to write potentially harmful scripts and since these kids have already been in trouble for poking around the network before we don't want to give them any incentive to do so again. We came up with the idea of possibly setting up a VM which isn't tied to the domain so this way they can't poke around the network and can just use that VM when creating their scripts with notepad++ since we would likely run windows 7 on the VM. The problem we have is that each user would need to be able to save work to their N drive but of course this would require access to the network which is what we want to avoid. Rather than spend huge amounts of time on this for only a handful of pupils we wondered if anyone else has this sort of setup maybe for other purposes rather than the same purpose we would like to use it for but if anyone has suggestions on ways to do this please let me know!

Those temps are standard really although the cooler the better of course. Most hardware can operate under high heat and the CPU itself can run up until around 90 deg which is when it usually shuts itself off automatically. Since your no way near that I wouldn't expect this is a temp issue and is more likely either your GPU or your OS causing the problem. Try booting up to a USB using a linux distro as if you don't get any black screen issues it would suggestion it's your windows 10 install.

I'd recommend Fedora when it comes to linux distro's although I have never tested it on a netbook with such low spec before although I can't see it being a problem with most distro's as long as you only install the core requirements along with a GUI like gnome.

So they offered me £95 for my iphone 5 in brand new condition yet I could get £135 from CeX. It looks like this is mainly a gimmick for Apple fans to try and persuade them to get the new devices.

I did indeed, in fact upon phoning Impero they gave me some additional rules to add as well which unfortunately didn't help either (no fault of impero just symantec!). The good news is however that symantec has now whitelisted the files as I received an update from Impero this morning confirming this and it seems to have resolved the issue so everyone else with the same problem should not experience further issues as long as they update their definitions.

Hi All, Just wanted to advise users of this issue however currently Version 5 of Impero is suffering problems for users who have Symantec Endpoint Protection as the Impero files are reporting as false positives. This was also an issue in the original release of Version 4 however it was fixed when Impero submitted the false positives to Symantec. After discussion with Impero they have again submitted the false positive reports to Symantec however it doesn't appear there is anyway to stop this issue as exceptions made on the Symantec server don't seem to stop the files being automatically removed. This causes a number of issues for Impero and in some cases deletes the Impero Client SVC service entirely but you should be able to sort the issue by removing Impero and using CMD to delete the service. Impero will of course help with the issue but if your using Windows 8.1 I have found that the registry is sometimes affected and this took some time to fix but if anyone experiences these issues please feel free to drop a message here as I'll try and help where possible. Good old CONCORD...I remember watching a 200m faction battle cruiser getting owned by concord as he decided to aggro them for no reason. At that time I didn't have much ISK and hadn't really seen any expensive ships and I couldn't believe someone was that reckless!

Yeh I started when I was younger so hence why I made the mistake but with all the skills I made up now my account is much better and I'm a pretty good armour tank although I don't like PVP that much lol. In terms of your TS 10 slots is fine for a start as at least there's somewhere to go so if you don't mind making the details public you could post them but otherwise feel free to PM me them!

Yep that's about right! It's much easier to solo on WoT than EVE as well but the last thing I was doing on EVE was getting mastery on some of my ships so that my skills were better overall since from the off I basically just rushed to get a battleship which was great but I couldn't use any good gear We could do with a teamspeak server or something so if anyone gets time they can jump on and game or just chat so it's not as boring while playing EVE solo.

I used to play this a bit but then I just ended up paying and leaving my skill queue going for days without logging back on again! Tempted to play again but I don't have as much spare time now and play world of tanks instead.

The best way to fix it is to setup a block for googleearth.exe which you can enable in specific rooms. Google earth is used for geography so we only allow it in that department but you can also setup detect only policys to email you when users access it so you can keep track of people using it and check to see if they are bypassing everything. I have informed impero of this anyway so hopefully they fix the problem!

I would also recommend Impero as it does everything that's needed and although there is a small problem which means users can bypass the blocked websites using google earth this can be easily managed. If you want to know about other software I believe the following isn't so bad either: SchoolVue Classroom Management Software | CrossTec Corporation I have not seen this in quite a number of years however so I can't really say how good it is now days!

We have quite a lot of storage available from a past upgrade so storage isn't an issue although currently we do limit staff to 500mb of space and pupils to 200mb. Currently the exchange server is also a physical server so that is why the storage is limited but the new server is going to be a virtual machine so storage isn't an issue. I'm not sure about our AV though as the network manager set the original exchange server up but I believe our AV server covers that along with all the PC's as well although that said I still like the idea of 365 it just depends on the budget we get next year!

We have considered it however we have an EES agreement with Microsoft so all the licenses are part of the fee being paid so upgrading exchange doesn't cost us any more that it does already. It is something we have and will still strongly consider since although it's nice to have everything on site it would be one less server to manage which makes the job a little bit less stressful!
