  1. screenshot the reporting tree page for us? Have you got any filtering on sen stages so it only shows current?
  2. sorry - busy day today - I hadn't even looked past tab 1 so anyway, tab 1 - only filter selected is "2018" - SIMS market share is 78.91% which is obscene but believable. Let's then pick 2017 as well - the number of schools looks sensible- 17101 in 2018 and 17632 in 2017 - but the percentages aren't doing anything clever - so we've got 38.91 for 2018 and 40.12 for 2017 - this is wrong. Even more fun is that if we pick just one year and one MIS then that MIS get's 100% of marketshare. If we pick a second MIS they just split the 100% between them. At each point the numbers look fine, it's just that your percentage calculations aren't being at all clever. While writing this I had a play with tab 2 and that seems to be a lot more sensible - the percentages look to my untrained eye as if they are behaving when combining filters.
  3. public publishing is free afaik. It's when you want to restrict it that you have to pay. @GREED your market share calculations screw up the second you try to do any multi-year comparisons
  4. If you aren't cross linking areas then you aren't really using powerBI to it's potential. Normally the reports you get within your MIS will do all the straightforward analyses. That said the beauty of powerBI is adding new features when you think of them. As long as you've got a good data model and relationships setup it's really easy.
  5. I would never have opted to have it hosted. I could swear I've seen threads either here or on Capita's MyAccount site about this issue. don't recall a solution.
  6. and the last one... https://www.pupilasset.com/gdpr 6. What levels of data security do we employ? The Pupil Asset SaaS is secured to industry standards. Data in-transit and data at-rest are encrypted to AES-256 level. Our cloud data centres are located within the European Economic Area (EEA) - physically within the UK. Our UK located cloud hosting providers are ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certified. So other than testing our google skills what was the objective of this thread?
  7. [h=6]RM Integris - meeting GDPR compliance Where is the data stored?[/h]In a secure UK datacentre. https://support.scholarpack.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360002132132-ScholarPack-GDPR-Guide [h=1]Where exactly does ScholarPack store our data?[/h]School data is held in secure Tier 4 data centres within the UK that are protected by both physical and logical security, and conform to industry standard security practice. Our live systems and backup systems are hosted with different providers in different geographical locations within the UK. https://www.isams.com/platform/add-ons/disaster-recovery/ The service works by taking an encrypted copy of your school’s MS SQL database and application server web space and securely uploading the backup to data centres in Dublin. In the event of a hardware or infrastructure failure, we can access the backups and have your system running from a secure iSAMS-hosted infrastructure within four working hours.
  8. It's been this way as long as I've used SIMS - Esteban's workaround will do the trick.
  9. The question I always ask is "Is all the information I'm putting on this report neccessary?" We certainly don't put DoB on them - just the student's name and form group - then their grades. The "risk" if this is lost is very low - it would tell you that a student attends our school and that's about it. The fact we've moved to a parental portal where they view the reports securely online has made it that much more secure.
  10. you running anything CPU intensive like Impero?
  11. isn't SIMS ID a paid for service? I'd love my new SSU to be able to handle this for me!
  12. Something that trumps SSDs, are your GPO's making login times 10+ minutes? - cos a fast hard drive isn't really gonna fix that.
  13. because it's early 90s tech?
  14. gotta love Crapita - yes your support may be through your LEA, but they don't have access to Crapita's online services stuff so they'll end up requesting the exact same thing from the exact same people. ho hum.
  15. just contact capita to get your address fixed. Then you can reinvite your other users. The data is not linked to your account.
  16. Agreed provided you want to send directly from outlook - if it was driven from within your MIS then it could be done more creatively.
  17. surely it could be done on the fly? Semi-static groups for each student does seem like massive overkill. alternatively SIMS does allow you to message all the teachers of a particular student using the inbuilt SIMs messaging system - does inTouch allow email as well?
  18. what do you mean by "personal" account - is it the same as your new 365 address? They've got two different microsoft sign-in options - a generic microsoft option and a 365 option - can you not re-invite the accounts? The only issue would be with whoever has your admin account as Crapita will probably have to reinvite that account.
  19. If you master the find and replace technique for the resultset then the same report can be used all year long - saving hours and hours. As much as I love doing whizzy things in Excel this would end up costing me more time than simply blasting the aspects using the sims word add-in.
  20. a CTF is just an xml file formatted to meet a particular standard. You can make them yourself easily enough. So in terms of this "feature" there is no fundamental reason that any other supplier would have the same bug, as the issue is in the code they are using either when exporting the data from SIMS or (like last time) the code they are running to match the data from the file to the students in the database.
  21. So it's a good thing I postponed upgrading until after Easter?
  22. Yes - except for the gardeners and other contractors that don't have direct contact with the kids - they are maintained on a seperate list where the company has produced evidence that their staff are all DBS checked. Daily supply are treated the same. so if Ofsted or anyone else asks on the day, then we can pull together the agency documents with the SIMS SCR report we wrote and that's a comprehensive list. Inventry could give us the list of DBS approved staff on site (peripatetic staff, LA advisors etc) - but they would also exist in SIMS.
  23. We've got Inventry but it's not our central place to store the SCR details. Since SIMS can and does record the checks for us (list 99, DBS/CRB, RtW etc) that is the source for our SCR. Inventry can help by telling us about those occasionals on site the day someone wants to see the SCR.
  24. it's a good test of your backup strategy though.
  25. make them write it again, it can't take that long. when you're talking about restoring the report - you mean natively from within sims or from your backup solution? the reports are stored in the DB as best I know so unless your DM had exported it already you'll have to get a test bench restore of the sims server up and running then export the report you're missing.
