  1. creating a new folder in her "my documents" for the sims documents won't cause a problem.
  2. The licence costs are really reasonable and will solve all these problems.
  3. so your result sets aren't year group specific? I only get this issue when the i have year 12s resitting the year. If you do have non year group specific result sets then a date filter (as you seem to have done) is the only way to tell the computer what the difference is.
  4. they can use their own personal phones - the only issue would be if they really don't want to install a school app on their personal phone - which I would fully support them in objecting to. either way only a handful of staff here have to use the 2FA and there is a USB dongle option if they really don't want to use their phone.
  5. This is the holy grail. However I just get by with a marksheet with all the subjects across the top and all the kids as rows. Ultimately I have external software that handles this for me, though it wouldn't be beyond a bit of clever Excel to reformat it so you can have subject 1,2,3 etc rather than ALL the columns. The issue with doing it an easy way is that the computer doesn't know how many subjects the kids are supposed to be doing in 6th form - we've got reg/pshe/re/3 alevels (but sometimes 4) and then some elective subjects on top - so the count per student can vary between 5 and 10! (only 3 of which anyone really cares about).
  6. We had a load of those - but it didn't appear to be causing an issue. Don't think we followed up as even Capita's guidance on it was vague and non-committal.
  7. you can't cover forms unless they are scheduled as far as i know. I'd go with panosthegreat and just whack everyone's max load up to take account of it.
  8. I'd like it not to count history - but the software won't listen to me! If you really aren't going to count contact time as contact time (as this certainly is contact time) then you're going to have to flag it as non-contact time. else the easy answer is to subtract it at the end when you do your calculations?
  9. try a much smaller number of students - maybe even start with 1. it's a demanding routine - it could just be overloading your server (any idea of it's spec?)
  10. I'm loving your 64 KW server - are you working in google's data center?
  11. a blub?
  12. login to the site first, then copy and paste the link i gave you....
  13. https://myaccount.capita-cs.co.uk/Notifications/SIMS-Release-Download-Links/ However I'm not going to be the one to break the rules and give you a copy of the file directly. If you've got SIMS you should have an account - it doesn't matter who your support provider is. (at least I've still got access after dumping the enhanced support contract).
  14. Facility Scheduler wasn't quite at that level but it was so much more intuitive and capable than Nova. I'm presuming that since TimeTabler can import and export to SIMS and Facility you could use it as a convertor from one to the other? Or even just use timetabler itself as pretty much anything is better than Nova.
  15. you can have additional supervisors in the pastoral structure - this should allow them to see the year group marksheets.
  16. make them look at SIMS! Emailing lists of kids with medical conditions around is bypassing pretty much all the security you have within SIMS to keep this data known only to those who need it.
  17. sketch-up is a good starting point
  18. I should win as my current NVMe is looking very lonely by itself
  19. 2 answers to this. 1. SIMS releases ALWAYS have a bug so your point is moot. 2. Aren't other schools with less cynical IT staff our test environment?
  20. pull out the attendance sessions on both methods and don't convert to percentages - it'll show you straight away where the differences are.
  21. just found my new tag line - thanks @synaesthesia
  22. So start a brand new report - data area: student add whatever identifiers you want, first name/last name etc then find the parental consent in the reporting tree and expand it, inside you'll see a blue box called "parental consent" - add as many of those as you have different consents. On each you will then double click them to get a menu at the bottom of the screen where you can filter that blue box. - this is a subreport! shout if you need more help.
  23. you need to change MIS to Progresso which still uses Scheduler afaik and that can indeed do what you want perfectly Nova-T is a POS. Can SIMS itself even render a timetable like that?
  24. anyone other students got an issue on that day?
