Why isn't it easy, we spend most of our time implementing stuff to make our job easy so much so that some never really have to leave their room. Its not hard work and you probably know that. Just think of all the jobs out there that are much harder than your own, usually physically harder but still harder than running your network.

I do not now if your a graduate or not but I suspect your income is good, after all you left a school as an NM to work for the LA so the job must have been attractive. You've worked in the public sector for to long Dos_Box, 20 to 25 grand is not going to get you on the housing ladder these days. And after a year most graduates would expect to earn more than this. Their figures are right most graduates will earn between 3 & 5 grand more than a Teacher on appointment, and remember even though their salary increases after a year so does the graduates outside teaching.

O2 do a 3G connection that uses a USB dongle modem, this connects you to their network. Coverage is improving for their service with the best connections gained around the larger of our cities noticibly London. If there are only single machines in each classroom connecting to the 802.11a APs, dependent on the design of the building and its structure, are you not concerned that quite a few of these would need to be deployed. Rather then running Parallels or Fusion could you not use Crossover, this would allow you to run Windows apps without running XP.
