  13. @gumbygaz, i only populated the staff AD accounts with initials not students (i left these blank). So when I ran the test sync it reported that it had modified the staffs given name but just left the students names as they were.
  14. @gumbygaz in the groups have you selected the tick box that says list this group in the directory? its under information in the group access settings. I know in ours if i go to classroom, students, invite. contacts. In the drop down box that says My contacts change it to directory and then in the search box type i.e. year10. comes up for me.
  15. Hi @gumbygaz, i have just had to do this exact same thing at my school due to several members of staff unhappy their given name was displayed in the contacts list that students could see. They way i have done it is to make sure in AD that in the initials field it has the staff's initial then in GADS the given name attribute I have changed to initials. Re-run the sync tool and works a treat. Still amazes me despite my ten plus years in education what I would say is a small thing what staff get hung up about.
  16. @LukeC, its a good one you'll like it. Its all about job role and responsibilities. One's your paid to do and others you inherit or get lumbered with!!!!
  17. fun, but also a good chance to network with colleagues and listen to relevant speakers. The soapbox is a good one this time, will hope be a good discussion point among those attending.
  18. I have restricted our student users form sending and receiving emails from outside our domain. They are in their own OU with each having a Restrict Delivery rule set up just for them. Emails between all internal users are working fine (including the OU's with the Restrict Delivery rule). Group emails do not deliver to the OU's with the Restrict Delivery rule; group emails work to all other OU's that do NOT have a Restrict Delivery rule like the support and teaching staff OU's. When I disable the Restrict Delivery restriction, the group emails will go through to the group that previously had the Restrict Delivery rule. Any one else had this issue and how did you resolve it, i am hoping i don't have to turn off restrict delivery for the students. I have looked on the various Google forums etc but despite it being an issue no one has a answer or resolution.
  19. My partner is one of them people who buys next year's Christmas presents at the boxing day/new year sales. My lad had seen the Thunderbird set as well but I thought it was expensive and esp without the vehicles, which are another 30 quid.
  20. I can confirm I can now access the support page and have already submitted a ticket.
  21. Getting the same here as well.
  22. Mine doesn't get past the reset password bit even after the bit above, I'll contact support they are always spot on.
  23. wont let me login even after meeting the password requirements.
  24. We are having issues like this, just running a basic report its bringing the whole system to a grinding halt. It stopped staff registering in PARS why I don't know. We have done all the usual methods people have recommend on here, past it up to our SIMS support company.
