    PC Fire!

Had an old external HDD, plugged it in to see what was on it. PC wouldnt detect it, saw smoke coming out the top... unplugged gave it some time and opened it up. Yupp lots of burnt marks! Turns out i stuck the wrong DC adapter in!
  5. We go via a reseller and also pay roughly £4 a user! We use Academia, never had issues with them
  6. Agreed with rest of your points, but interesting fact on why the logo no longer lights up on the MacBooks. With apple trying to make them as thin as possible the cut out made them less structurally sound, but more importantly, it was so thin that when outside sunlight would shine through the plastic and you'd have a bright mark in the centre of your screen!
  7. My first thought (depending on the nature of the tic) is will something like a roller ball mouse work better?

    MDMs

We use Mosyle, does everything we need it to for MacOS and iPadOS. We don't do 1:1 though only shared! Jamf is the best MDM hands down, but is also $$$!
  9. ... No comment Any of those days are ok with me
  10. Thank you Glad i'm not the only one having issues with contacting them!
  11. Hi All, We have an issue with one of our Epsom Projectors and want to get it replaced under warranty, i've registered the warranty and contacted their technical support emails. Both times I haven't heard back! It's out of warranty in a couple months so need to get it moving. Does anyone have any contact emails/numbers for them? As all the ones I seem to use I get no reply, not even a email confirmation that they have registered my warranty or received an email! Thanks Dalek
  12. Just remember this image, might be of use!
  13. Just registered Hopefully to do Microsoft Azure Fundamentals AZ-900!
  14. No worries, just sometimes need a fresh pair of eyes to look at it!
  15. Have you got a stage that installs the Wi-Fi Drivers?
  16. Agree with this, only bit i'd add is another option is move away from adobe to a none SAAS software with Apple Silicon support
  17. Which bit of adobe do you use? If video you can go over to Final Cut, photoshop theres alway GIMP! The education discount isn't tied to your school email, you have to verify the school email but is still tied into your personal one. You can also get discount on apple devices this way using UniDays Adobe is £16 a month for all the suite for Teachers and Students, or £50 if not! So makes sense to use the discount if you do go with the SAAS option. As for Final cut, it's £200 but you also get the rest of Apples pro apps like Logic with the education offer
  18. FYI you do get a nice sizeable discount on the Adobe Suite if you sign up as a Educator. I used it for about a year, but in future moving over to Final Cut (Also get a nice discount with being an educator) as the monthly sub is annoying i agree. But with CS6 being well past it's sell by date now and at some point you're going to have to make the jump up to a higher version or another software. Also with the current lack of virtualising ability in Apple silicon i wouldn't recommend running it in a VM. In the future maybe, once parrells pulls their finger out.* *Just seen they now support the M1 chip from last month, don't know how stable it is.
  19. Reminds me of this, How do you make a Pirate angry? You take the P out of him
  20. Good thing we teach both Pro Tools and Logic, both on mac
  21. We're a very Microsoft 365 school, but even we see why Macs have their place. Logic is an industry standard now so you have to teach the kids how to use it if they want to go into the music industry. It's not that hard now to get Macs and Windows working together, just a half decent MDM and you're good to go* *Yes i know you dont need an MDM to domain join Macs but good luck managing them without one!
  22. LHP..... now what? ... Welcome!!!
  23. Firstly, get a decent MDM to manage the Macs, Jamf if you have the budget. Mosyle if not. You should be able to map home drives simple enough, Mosyle picked it up straight away from our AD users and mapped it to the dock. No issues with file corruption, been awhile since had any issues between Mac and Windows in general. Only issue normally is people saving .pages files! Unsure on the AD Password exp as we don't an expiry. We are also heavily into 365 so all our shared areas are in SharePoint so no need to map extra drives etc. As i said before, first thing is to trail some MDMs and make sure they do what you need them to do.

    Cricket

Looking to get back into the ol Cricket after 10 years out. Needing a new bat firstly, struggling to find one that fits. Looking at Kookaburra Kahuna lite atm, but according to sizing guides i need a long handles (i'm 6ft 3) and there doesn't seem to be many at my price range! (max of around £175). Where do you guys gets yours from? I'd like to stick to Kookaburra if possible as i like their stuff.
