I think it's a chain rather than belt on the 1.3 CDTi engine, they can go slack and snap the camshaft. Diesels are also trickier to work on at home when there are faults. There is no, lack of fuel or spark to diagnose, it's all high pressure diesel lines or lack of that causes issues. (I was trained by a Ford mechanic, but worked on everything from Ladas to Porsches, back in the day). I'd also check the clutch, and a quick acceleration then braking test, whilst not holding the steering wheel to identify any suspension/braking issues.

If you remove the wifi card, does the intermittent booting up become regular booting ? The wifi card dying might just be a symptom not the cause.

I use a USB/CD with Hiren on, for testing hard drives and memory. I have a PSU tester for quickly checking power supplies. A multimeter is also handy. With a known working stick of memory, CPU and graphics card, there isn't anything that can't be quickly diagnosed. For diagnosing faults on motherboards I use a bench power supply and a multimeter, my stereo microsope also helps greatly. Access to schematics and/or the boardview helps. Fixing broken/dead stuff gets me out of bed in the morning, it's my favourite part of IT.

As mavhc says, malware covers all malicious software. Spyware, ransomware, trojans, worms, adware and viruses. Not running as Admin helps mitigate attacks, granted running some anti malware/virus software is better than none, but it still gives a false level of security I feel. "ooh i have antivirus i can click random links and open emails as I'm protected". I've spent 15 years cleaning infected machines and have seen every home solution compromised both paid and free and also Sophos and Microsoft Enterprise solutions beaten. Chrome seems especially easy to compromise with tainted addons/extensions.

I'd pick the AirPort over the Superhub. I don't like the idea of Virgin having access to it, they can see all the connected devices. You can't change the DNS on a Superhub, and changing from Virgin's to another had provided a speed increase for me when browsing.

Abillybob - HD Ready TVs in Europe have to be capabale of 720 horizontal lines of resolution. 480 was a resolution found on old Plasma TVs. Tesla - Your TV knows a 1080p signal but it's only displaying at its max which is 1366 x 768.

What's the model number Tesla ? It might detect 1080p but only be displaying at 720. There is also HD Ready 1080p.

What's the model number ? Chances are it's a Vestel just rebranded with the Panasonic name. Check your backlight setting and turn it down some. Vestel are well known for failing LEDs.

Have you tried Winamp ?

Quite a nice picture on the series 5 Samsungs. I'd advise turning down the backlight setting (which is a different setting to the brightness) to extend the life of the LEDs. Free lollipops from Richer Sounds too.

As a man that fixes and sells TVs I will chip in with.. You will notice the difference between 720 and 1080p when using a PS4. You can tell the difference between 720 and 1080p on a 19" compared side by side so definitely on a 32" There is a lot of number fudging from manufacturers especially concerning frequency (think PC World selling a laptop on hard drive size). Frequency is not refresh rate. There is a reason most TVs have a gaming mode. TVs vary wildly in quality and specs even from the same manufacturer even certain models have variations with the panels they use.
