I am trying to create an MSI by installing from the cd so that I have serial no etc. all done
-
Our school uses Macromedia Fireworks 8, and since our summer upgrade to Windows 7 I have just not been able to deploy it over the network. I can install on a clean machine while I create the MSI and all works great I can open/close the program no problem but as soon as I try to deploy the MSI I am getting nowhere I have tried GPO and SCCM. I have multiply suites to get this installed in so I am starting to panic. Someone here must have deployed this, if have how did you do it? Also what are other school using now? what have you replaced fireworks with.

I tried this over the weekend and it didn't work for me, it seems that the leases didn't transfer. So what I have ended up doing made the lease duration on my original server 6 hours, and then deleted all the leases and allowed the clients to get their new leases with the shortened time. Tonight I have deactivated the original scope and activated the two scopes on the new servers, fingers crossed all will be fine in the morning.

thanks I will have a look and see what happens

So I have taken the plunge and set up a couple of 2012 servers (Don't you just love Hyper V) and installed DHCP on both and configured the scopes and options, and they are sat waiting to be authorised. So how would you move forward? at the moment I have a 2003 DHCP server so I thought set the leases to a short time and then unauthorise the 2003 DHCP server and authorise the two 2012 servers over the weekend.

I have a Galaxy S3 and I am with the 3 network I am not on contract but I pay £15 a month on a 30 day rolling contract, I get unlimited data, and believe me I have tethered my laptop and streamed Iplayer, footy matches and downloaded loads and I have had no problems. I get 300 mins talk and 600 txts but I don't use either of these to the point that I worry it was for the data. I don't know what there coverage is like in your area but I think this deal is fantastic, plus I don't have to worry about using too much data

As the title says really. We have almost deployed our entire network using SCCM2012 however we have a couple Lenovo desktops on site and they use a Realtek PCIe GBE family NIC, and I can't find a driver to enable me to image them. I am wondering if anyone has had this problem and found an answer.

I will as soon as management make their decision, if it was the other way around I would of had to do it yesterday.

Thanks for the replies guys I have got it working using a different method but not dissimilar to what you suggested LeMarchand, this way I don't have to put the file on each machine. user - windows - internet explorer maintenance - automatic browser configuration - enable automatic configuration enabled Automatic proxy url (.js .jvs or .pac file) file://\\location-of-share\wpad.dat Only thought I have had iswhat happens when it can't see the share? does the browser just assume there are no proxy settings.
-
I have been trying to get this proxy.pac working for our laptops and I have just drawn a complete blank. The code I am using is quite simple. function FindProxyForURL(url, host){ if (isInNet(myIpAddress(), “10.0.48.0?, “255.255.252.0?)) return “PROXY staffproxy.swgfl.org.uk:8080?; else return “DIRECT”; } I have followed several on-line guides all of which are very similar. I have created a second site on my IIS server called "pac" because port 80 was in use I have used port 1500. I have deployed a gpo looking to http://server-ip:1500/proxy.pac That works but the proxy settings are not applied. I have also tried using wpad.dat and entering a cname entry that fails too. All our clients are Windows 7 with IE8 our servers are 2008R2, the proxy server we use is offsite. Is there an alternative way of getting this solution? Also if I enter the file locations directly in the browser that doesn't work either.

ok thanks I will look into that tomorrow

This is what happens when I click on the RDP link. Is this the way it works? you have to save the rdp shortcut? you can't click on a link on the site and open the ap that way.
-
the rdweb folder is at the root of the HAP structure. I have managed to move a little forward (I think) I now get a "save as" box when I click on the word link.
-
Hi Nick I have done that I found a post quite a way back that you mentioned to do that. extension .rdp MIME type application/rdp entry type Local
-
I have added a folder "rdweb" and added my remote app rdp files, I have tested my remote apps and they work outside of HAP. However when I click on the remote apps link I get [h=2]403 - Forbidden: Access is denied.[/h][h=3]You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.[/h] Here are the parts of my config file that I have changed

I ran RSOP and got an error Error Can not create folder "\\sccm-01\redirection$\Student\Desktop\Programs" ErrorDetails This security ID may not be assigned as the owner of this object I tried all the solutions suggested by Microsoft yet nothing worked. So I stripped out folder redirection and still I have no start menu (maybe a clue here) Anyway I created a separate GPO just for the redirection and started with a folder in the netlogon directory, and it worked, But as so as I try this script I get nothing, I have noticed that the icons are not being copied to the local folder, but the folder is created.
-
I have been trying to get this to work for quite some time now in between other things, but it just will not work. I can't get redirected menus to work for students no matter what I do I have tried sharing from a folder share and netlogon yet nothing works. I must be missing something but what. In the redirection GPO it seems the desktop and start menu don't work yet in the group policy modelling wizard it passes. So anyone have an idea? Servers are 2008R2 clients are Windows 7

Thanks I have followed the information we will see tomorrow if it works

Hi I have installed the office 2010 KMS package But I originally used the MAS key, but I found this script on the Microsoft site to covert the MAS to a KMS key CD /d C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14cscript ospp.vbs /inpkey:*****-*****-*****-*****-62Y93 cscript ospp.vbs /sethst:kms-01.domain.local cscript ospp.vbs /act office is a application in SCCM 2012 but it is installed at the same time as the image using a task sequence. The strange thing is some machines are fine some are not.
-
I have rolled out my new Windows 7 environment and I have also setup a KMS server but I am still getting some office installs asking to be activated where some others are fine. when I run slmgr.vbs /dlv I get the following Can anyone tell me if it looks ok I am struggling to find any info on how to understand the ouput.

In that case I think mine is about there then, time to show it to management.

Just an update I now have Server Uptime working; in the initial config I had set domain\user for the active directory setup and everything in the setup worked. But by removing the "domain" the server uptime live tiles now work. one last issue if I use clicking on the tile goes to the HAP server not the Exchange server I have modded the line to This works for the live tile but I still have to log into OWA when I click on the tile, is this right?
-
Thanks for getting back on a saturday night NickX The Server code was the same just my server names As to the SMTP this is what I have at the moment so do I replace SMTP Server= for SMTP exchange=
-
I have got V8 up and running with just basics at the moment however I thought I would try and add a few extras last night but completely failed. I tried adding the server uptime and when I log on the tile is there but I get a message in red about unable to log on on the left hand side of the that disappears. I have also tried the calendar live tile and that fails too. Is there something else that need to be configured? And one last question should you be able to go straight into outlook web access without logging on?

[V8] Not loading assets (stylesheets, images)

I had that today and I cured it by recycling the app pool
