As a technician in a school that moved to CTS, they made us interview for our own jobs, and was seemingly lieing to SMT while being nice to our faces, whether this was because they thought we'd command too much money, or whether they wanted to try and move us elsewhere, I'll never know as everyone found better jobs and left. From the staff that I've spoken to since, they have a poorer response, have often broke things by not following guides left behind and trying to do things themselves, and generally disliked. I've had teachers tell me that CTS was apparently one of the factors that made them leave a school... -

For distance, you'll need a tool like this: https://www.flukenetworks.com/datacom-cabling/fiber-testing/fiber-quickmap For version, it should be marked on the sleeve, like ethernet cables, so if you are able to read the sleeve before it goes into any walls you should get the info there

That doesn't stop people unplugging the patch leads? The only things I've seen are bits of plastic that lock the locking tab in place.

Can't say I've seen any issues, we also use the outlook tool for some users, and delegated mailboxes show up there fine as well.
