  1. I have this exact problem at one of my schools, it really gets on my nerves because the Teaching and SLT attitude towards it is they can't be bothered and we probably easily change 100 keyboards and mice at this particular school in an academic year. I work for 2 schools and the other school is considered "worse" behavioural wise but they treat the ICT Suites with more respect because the ICT Teachers there are much better with there classroom management. We change less than 5 at this school!, it's so frustrating but I do think good classroom management stops this.
  2. We have Inventry at my 2 schools (not my choice), and I wouldn't recommend it. In my experiences with them, we have a Cloud Console which only a handful of staff are able to login to, as the remaining staff have issues with not getting a valid token, and there support team seems stumped but it doesn't seem to get progressed/escalated up the chain. The Cloud Console often doesn't report the correct numbers of staff signed in, or visitors. It has very limited reports compared to the "full" console version. Unless you plan to put the Inventry Screen/PC on the domain, you will struggle to connect to a console via W11 PC as NTLM has been depreciated and they don't seem to have come up with a new method. There 1st line support is Outsourced outside of the UK and it is not always easy to get put through to the 2nd line team who seem to be UK based. The 1st line team just seem to read from a script and I've found it's not very helpful for the issues we've encountered. It really is the SIMS.net of signing in systems in my opinion. Good Luck if you go down the Inventry Path...
  3. I would raise with SLT and see what the response is. If they don't seem to want to take much notice then do what @PotNoodleTech said above. I have the same issue at my school, even with CCTV in the rooms. The SLT don't want to know unless it's serious enough i.e a monitor has been smashed. So we just buy cheap stuff and take our time with replacing it.
  4. We have around 120 Flex Micros and 15 or so of the Flex Minis. The Flex Micros have tiny fans which we have had to replace around 30 of them after we had an issue where the fan was constantly on and had a loud whining noise. We've had better experiences with the Flex Minis. The support from Very is good but the build quality can be a bit hit and miss sometimes.
  5. I don't think they can directly, but lookup IEVO. It integrates with Paxton and they do work with Biostore. In essence it would be like adding a middleman to make the 2 of them work with eachother. We never got round to installing it at my school but was discussed a year or so back.
  6. I would check by emailing the teaching staff member with a non-school email account such as a gmail for eg, and see if they receive it. If they do then sounds like a mistyped or incorrect email on the external senders part, and perhaps it has cashed the details incorrectly.
  7. I thought Adobe Express was online only via a browser? If it isn't i'd also love to know how to deploy it!
  8. We've not used LGFL Email for about 3 years now so not overly helpful but I didn't come across that before.
  9. Hello, Does anyone use a system whereby you have an inventory of what's in your stock room? I work in a MAT with multiple sites so we have a few different store rooms, it's hard to keep track with what is in stock at each school. I was thinking along the lines of a QR code sticker that we can scan on a mobile phone to "Check out" the item. I guess it would be similar to an asset management system except we wouldn't ordinarily put small items on it so I think some other type of inventory system would be better suited to our needs. Preferably something that doesn't cost a stupid amount! I was thinking of a Google Sheets spreadsheet but it would be time consuming to manually make a change every time we take an item out. Thanks
  10. It's done via Conditional Access in Azure AFAIK but requires a certain type of Azure Premium license. I've no idea on the costs involved.
  11. This has worked, thanks
  12. Hello, I accidently released 2 iPads from our ASM when troubleshooting an issue instead of unnassigning the MDM server. Does anyone know if it's possible to add them back? I have seen elsewhere it may be possible through AC2 but has anyone had any experience doing this and how did you get it to work? Thanks!
  13. Not sure if your devices are in warranty still but might be worth asking the warranty team (they've been very helpful for us) [email protected]
  14. Are they FlexMicro's? We've had the same issue with VeryPC's and after speaking to there support team, they sent us a bunch of CPU fans so we have replaced them ourselves which was fairly easy.
  15. This post is straying away from the OP but just to add to the ongoing discussion, I work in a school that uses CC4, and I have worked in other schools in the past that have used Vanilla. I can see the arguments for both sides and I'm not really pro for either side but I have to say that CC4 works well in my current environment and we don't tend to have many issues with it at all. RM Support when we have had to contact them can sometimes be a watching paint dry experience but i'd argue the same for some other suppliers in the industry (IRIS i'm looking at you!). I guess it's about weighing up the needs and priority of the school vs the technical ability of the staff supporting/managing the network.
  16. My place ditched Cunninghams when I had just joined but from what I heard it was pretty terrible. We moved to Biostore who was decent at first but now Iris have got there claws into them the support has gone down hill. It's a struggle to speak to the right team as the 1st liner's are just copying a script etc which sometimes is ok if it's a minor issue but not so good if it's more of a complex one.
  17. We use pins within our Biostore setup with a handful of kids whose parent's have not consented to biometrics. We have a numeric keypad connected to the till via USB cable and it works well.
  18. Newer build versions of windows 10 have issues (they may even not support them anymore?) with Roaming Profiles
  19. Same at my place. It has worked well for us. In terms of Office 365, our global admin accounts are the @onmicrosoft accounts so not tied to any RM Unify accounts. Providing someone else didn't change the accounts and/or passwords, RM should have a record of the credentials to be able to access it and create you an admin account.
  20. We've been struggling to get a quote for a new HP/Aruba WiFi system for the past 3 months. We want Aruba as our other school in the trust had one installed and we want to standardise. Not sure if there is a general issue getting pricing for WiFi!
  21. We had issues with our O365 and PSFinancials failing. We did this to fix it. In Powershell connect to Exchange Online and do: Set-TransportConfig -AllowLegacyTLSClients $True https://office365itpros.com/2021/08/19/exchange-online-to-introduce-legacy-smtp-endpoint-in-2022/
  22. Carrying on as Normal at my 2 schools.
  23. Thanks all, we already have Lightspeed MDM that we pay for anyway so we won't be moving away from that at least not for the foreseeable future. I've put an application in for ASM and just waiting for it to be verified which could take until next week.
  24. Hello all, It's been about 4 to 5 years now since I dealt with iPads and back then I was using Apple Configurator 2 alongside Apple VPP for purchasing of apps and used Lightspeed MDM. Fast forward to now and I am working in a different place, we've just got 60 new iPads to replace an aging estate of iPads that couldn't be updated past iOS 9.3.5 or something! The good news is Apple Configurator 2.5 and Lightspeed MDM is also in use here and they are by and large pretty similar to when I last used them. I've heard about Apple School Manager and DEP but I don't know too much about these, looking elsewhere has confused me a little with all the apple talk and acronyms they bring up and since it's been a while for me since I was dealing with iPads I was hoping someone on here could point me to what the current best practice is nowadays? Thanks in advance
