Did you get anywhere with this, we have different integration versions across all the windows servers from 2008 to 2016 now under hyper-v and how the updated integration services are supposed to be delivered seems to be pretty sketchy i.e. windows update via WSUS that needs approval, via the host itself?

The economy of scale that Azure, and AWS can offer should make it extremely difficult for others to compete on price. I believe if you are education you can buy through the "G Cloud" procurement framework as well which will give you better pricing and also checkboxes all the security and data protection stuff without you having to lift a finger.

Veeam cloud connect on Azure should be pretty cheap given there storage costs and you can now restore veeam backups straight to Azure as well now which makes it an excellent all round DR solution. Will want to setup a site to site or point to site VPN though which is reasonably straightforward

The SAN element has no impact on the number of licenses required. Standard edition licenses for 2 virtual machines on two physical processors, so yes 2 standard licenses would be required to run 4 virtual machines on a single host. Datacentre licenses for an unlimited number of virtual machines on 2 physical processors. Datacentre licensing is going to be the simplest and most cost effective license type if your going to be hosting large numbers of virtual machines per host.

I knew a fresh pair of eyes would do it, i will add it and retest but that should do it. I can only assume it removed the default reference when i added the advanced config database settings and automatically added these rules to the share after a regeneration.

So i am trying to Automate OS deployment as possible through the use of the Share rules (customsettings.ini) and bootstrap.ini in MDT 2013 however my rules just dont seem to be working correctly and i'm seeing screens that should be skipped and settings that should be applied and i'm wondering if some of the rules are overriding one-another. I've used both plurasight and cbtnuggets, probably has the better instructors but the issue I've found with the newer MS exams is tech changes quicker than the content. This is particularly evident with Azure and office 365 courses.

My current place use uniflow with cannon and cards which are also used for building entry. Works ok, preferred equitrac but it does everything required of including scan to me.

The interview process for all the private sector jobs I've found far less stressful. But using decent agency makes all the difference.

I made the move from public to private sector about 7 months ago after 9 years and I wish I had done it sooner. Even if you arnt sure yourself yet I'd go for the interview and see what you think of the people and the place. If nothing else you will gain some interview experience.

Support for server 2003r2 isn't ending its ended! That should be made a priority for replacement. Windows 2008r2 and Windows 7 are good until 2020 so yes you might be missing out on the shinny new stuff but if there isn't a legitimate business case to move to a new OS then I wouldn't worry about it, you are in no worse a position than many business.

The only problem I've found with veeam and the use of synthetic full backups is they take twice as long to complete as a bog standard full backup, although I've not tried the forever forward yet.

Last time I had a quote for impero there where a couple of options by an outright licence and pay or annual maintenance and support, this came out £12 per PC and nearly £1800 a year for support so is very expensive. Or pay somewhere around £2800 for a yearly subscription which includes updates and support. The value for money equation really depends on how much of the functionality you are planning on using vs tools you already have.

That's encouraging, i wish vendors where a little more transparent when it comes to list pricing, specs and features as I've always found it very difficult to do side by side comparisons with SANs, resellers can have wildly variable pricing as well which somewhat clouds things.

Under 24k for a CS220 with gigabit Ethernet install and just a years support at the time. I know nimble did us good deal as they had not long entered the UK market but I was hoping they would maintain discounted pricing for schools.
