I have quite a few gold areas, so they are complete, the mystery things with the tetris blocks that are the clues confuse me. Something to do with button combinations. Although the QR code one was good. I love the joke of its a 2d world that discovers it is actually 3d and that you have to collect 32 blocks :-)

Time to watch Indie Game the Movie. I am sure I have seen it on Netflix a couple of time (need a break from my House binge on that)

So, in my infinite wisdom, I downloaded a game off of PSN (for £2.49) called FEZ. OMG, I have actually stopped playing all other games, including dragon age for this. It has so little guidance on what to do, but I love it. Anyone else come across this one yet?

Well I am going up on Friday, just had it confirmed from our Headteacher (she wants me to look at these new fangled LED whiteboards over the ones with projectors :-) ) I will be looking at anything I can play with and looking at our next lot of laptops. I am really lucky, because I live in Gravesend I can get the off peak (after 9:30) HS1 train from Gravesend to Stratford International (which only takes about 15mins) then DLR straight to Excel :-) will @VeryPC be frequenting the same place as last year?

So this is my first Dragon Age game, I have been playing it pretty solid. I did get a bit confused at first as there is so much you can do, i got to a bit where I thought it was the end story and then discover there is tonnes more for that. Looks like I won't be starting FF XIV for a while yet. Still kinda plodding on through not really knowing what I am doing.

@Steve21 Parents Evening System does have a free trial, where you get all the functionality and it stays open until you have completed your first evening. Thats what allowed us to test it out. Was great. @witch Do you have less than 250 students or less than 500 at this school?

+1 for Parents Evening System, started using it last year here and haven't looked back since, and the prices are very competitive.

Silly question time, I am just installing SOLUS3 at the moment, with the idea that I will use Autumn Release 2 as my test to check it is running. Can you install the management console on other workstations at all?

I called them up the other day and got the instructions. You need to have student email addresses in SIMS, which we do thanks to the bulk update took available on here. I haven't implemented it yet though. One of those holiday jobs.

I would get a list of user directories and use the =concatenate formula in excel to make a bunch of formulas at the end which can be copied into a batch file and run. - - - Updated - - - Also I would run roboccopy /? in cmd to have a look at it switches :-)

Hello All, Thought 2012 was the most appropriate forum to put this in. Simple question here, if you are virtualising your servers for the first time (ever mind hosts and SANs etc as I am getting quotes for them form various Virtualisation Specialists) but all I would like to know is what would/do you use to virtualise your server infrastructure, VMware vSphere or Microsoft HyperV and the reasons why. Can you really remake BTTF, at best you can go for a Special Edition (George Lucas Style), the time periods would not line up anymore. Especially since we should all have Hover Boards very very soon

Yeah that .net bit that requires a restart but the install was silent so it didn't notify you. Service just starts and then stops straight away (like performance logs and alerts when they are not active) very annoying, Capita now want to remote in. took them 3 days to decide that one :-(

I am waitin on a callback for a remote sessions to get SSM working for InTouch, cannot do the upgrade without it but at least this version allows us to run an older version of InTouch with the latest SIMS release (for once)

Depends exactly what you need @Pete88 I have deal with David Pott from time to time SIMS Assessment Manager Blog - Using SIMS Assessment Manager for School Improvement His blog is quite useful and he does do consultancy, but he does have to come down from up Manchester way, but I have bounced ideas off of him before and worked on solutions.

I would also think it would be a no, we still have everything as House in SIMS even though they have been called communities in our school for the past 11 years.

Oh how I love EIS (and that is not sarcasm) their SIMS support if much better than dealing with Capita direct. There has also been some lovely characters on the helpdesk :-)
