OK all, I know this can be done in theory, but I was wondering how many of you are physically doing this and can give pointers :-) At the moment we have Office365 for all, it has been running for two years and has everyone using it (although "full fat" outlook as a client for staff can be very flakey I find compared to an onsite exchange server). I have been asked about Google Classroom and all their other tools, which everyone seems to be raving about (I have no doubt they are good and probably easier to use than the M$ tools). It comes down to this, I know we are not using Office365 to its full potential but we want to Offer GAFE but here is the thing with no emails at all at present, but maybe looking at testing one or two later one and see if they perform better (and works with Outlook ok) and if it passes look at migrating over. The big one is to all of you running both at the same time, can you get away without emails on GAFE or is it needed to really complete the package? Also how did you set it up to run both? I have read about GAD (which seems to make sense) but will I have any other issues to really think about? I hope I have made sense and look forward to your responses

I've always wanted a page that pulls out all the open tickets and lists who they are assigned to and how long they have been open. Trouble is I am pretty rubbish at any kind of web coding and using dreamweaver. Just wanted it to display the tickets on a nice large screen which can be used to visually show what is going on :-/

Lets see what happens as I have a subcontractor coming in to put in M$ DPM that week, so I just need to confirm the days they are coming in :-)

I think you need a specific link for upcoming events in the menu, as I couldn't find that from the homepage, but it could be me being a bit dumb

Morning all, Thought this would be a good little subject to get some ideas bouncing around. At work I work on an iMac all day with a windows VM in Virtual box for the majority of my tasks. I have 2 separate accounts, my regular bog standard staff account that I use all day long with no elevated rights, this is the account my email is connected to, has all my documents and I use for day to day tasks such as SIMS. It does not have the ability to run any of the MMC addins for AD, GPO and all the other fun. I also have a domain "support" account, which is pretty much a full admin account, which I use to use RDC to connect to servers and make changes etc. I was thinking of setting up a secondary VM on my mac that this account could be open in for a lot of the AD and GPO management stuff etc. I was thinking about having it as Win7 64bit (as we still do not have any DCs over 2012, but that is being sorted in the summer) and installing RSAT on in for the AD stuff and our Safecom Print Management. I was thinking how would you guys do this, would you add on any extra tools, specialist settings etc. The good thing is that I can leave both VMs open in full screen and flick between them. As I run access Spiceworks and Edugeek all day through Safari on OS X and flick to my windows VM for outlook etc. Look forward to hearing all of your suggestions.

The School Report in SIMS can do this for you, you have to use the Aspect Mapping tool and have the CTF KS2 grades there (like you of the the exams PI data) but then it is just a click and run job. I have also made a marksheet with lookups and calculations to do it, don't know if I can export that one for you to look at.

I didn't know you could set up a forward to outlook.

Must admit, I do love a good holiday camp, May Half Term last year, I had to get away, to last minute booking over the bank holiday weekend and I went down to Butlins Bognor Regis, had a great time.

I have had this with the HP Universal Print Driver and also had it with corrupt roaming profiles. It drives me nuts

In the network section of system preferences, you can setup locations (as an admin) one with the settings you want for school, such a proxies etc and one without them for home. The user should them be able to select the necessary ones without admin rights. IIRC you can even put in certain conditions for it to automatically switch between home and school but I cannot remember exactly how to do it. In your personal opinion, is it worth App-V'ing the Visual Studio free products for the computing students to use? I have python running locally for them, but I think they need something beefier. Need to read up on the whole MDOP properly. I have the feeling DaRT may come in very useful. UE-V does look like it needs some config, but xml files and the way it works seems a lot more efficient than the Roaming and Mandatory profile mix we have at the moment.

Well for future reference, MDOP is cheap, £2.30 per FTE. Head has authorised getting it as well after our mandatory profile for students corrupted and caused login times to go from 1min 30 over wireless to almost 20 mins. Better get researching ay. And App-V may be the perfect way of supplying more apps for our computing students.

Hopefully it is around £2/3 on EES. emailed out supplier.

Good point, don't suppose you have indication of cost of the EEs agreement?
