  1. Can I sign up and attend this session?
  2. It's not as though they couldn't just add GPOs for those specific items in the next version of Windows. Bad Microsoft
  3. 2013 on 8.1 2016 on Windows 10 Plan is to put everything on Windows 10 and Office 2019 in the summer (although this was planned for last year and didn't happen due to Covid-19)
  4. We had similar with TVs with no freeze function. Tried the dual-screens and mostly negative feedback Despite showing them how it works and makes things like videos on one screen and something on another that you can't do with a projector. Put a dual-monitor clamp on one room and the teacher has now moaned they can't see the kids! What can I do to win here?
  5. We found some of the Epsons with the laser unit above a plain whiteboard were a bit hit and miss. How did you find yours?
  6. No complaints from staff about non-interactive screens at all?
  7. Interesting topic - we're in a similar position at the moment. Whether to replace projectors (Approx £500) or go for TVs (Approx £1-2K each)? I'd prefer to all-in. Replace them with TVs (IMHO Full HD should do it for the lifespan of the units) and AV faceplates with a modern PC capable of using them. Some of the rooms with TVs I've trialled a dual-screen setup on TVs - one screen for the teacher, one classroom screen connected/duplicated using hardware to the board. Mixed feedback to be honest which was a tiny bit disappointing. Different place we had a cheap TV from eBuyer doing signage that had going on for 4-5x years old, being on 40x hours a week, every week etc.
  8. Yeah I've had to pretty much dismantle one UPS before in order to get the battery out of the chassis it had expanded that much.
  9. I only ever got to got to BETT once . Spent half the day travelling, 2x hours there then back home. Seemed a bit pointless and a waste of time the way they handled it.
  10. Thanks these especially will be useful tips for something I'm having to get involved with. Are you both of the opinion it should be what I called the "service owner" e.g. English department completing the document mainly?
  11. Something on a spaceship goes wrong after an unplanned stop.
  12. Oh man the pig's cool. What is he? Who's the owl? I'd be interested in them.
  13. I'm of an age I remember seeing that in the cinema

  17. Over eager police officer relocates to quiet town for a change of pace.
  18. I saw this and wondered what others in IT would think of it. I think it's a bit demeaning and insulting to IT professionals to be honest.
  19. Have you got the link to a news page/announcement etc of this at all? This is what I can find here https://community.smarttech.com/s/article/Does-SMART-Notebook-11-4-software-support-Windows-10-operating-system?language=en_US#:~:text=A%3A%20No.,Windows%208.1%20or%20Windows%2010. But as of today I've got it working on Windows 10 1909 x64 and it seems fine? I know "officially" it's not supported in Windows 10.
  20. It's interesting now how IT risk assessments for returned kit from homes, surely will have to say now (based on this) that they need to quarantine for 28x days then as a minimum?
  21. No good for me. I need 9x pallets of cones at a minimum. [emoji23]
  22. If it's any help years ago we had similar issues with some laptops. After many months of hassle and research, I found others had problems with the exact driver version we had. Got a newer one direct from Intel and it solved the problem. Sometimes it's the daft stuff.
  23. I'd be mighty tempted to put an external forward on the relevent school phones to their customer support phone number.

Plus a lot more reliable than anything software-based. I assume they didn't bother to any due diligence or risk assessment beforehand? e.g. forgetting an iPad latest update drops the iPad OS they're using Cloud service stops working/cloud outage Wire, switches (not network ones) and connections have a very low chance of random failure
