Some of their updates have caused a nuisance, but their support as been spot on. Been a customer for about 7 years now and no complaints this end - despite the cost of the product!

So it looks like Leeds update 5 has a bug. Rolled back to 4 and all is now ok.....

We had facebook blocked on our smoothwall but all of a sudden it is now available. Facebook.com is available, but facebook.co.uk isn't. It is blocked in the categories. Any suggestions?

On our pro-curves we are having a slight issue with the config of our IT Services VLAN. This VLAN already exists, but we are trying to reconfigure an existing switch to the IT VLAN. So the core is configured with the IT VLAN with an IP Helper. All good. Works elsewhere. I have configured the edge switch which goes through another switch. All fibre ports are tagged with the IT VLAN. For some reason I cannot get the VLAN to work at the edge. Any idea's?

I pretty much change every year using quidco. No loyalty anymore in business.

Get out the way then

Parking annoys me. People are inconsiderate where they park. Only because you can fit a car on the pavement, doesn't give you the right to park there. Park on the road. If you were allowed to park on the pavement, there would be markings.

Wrong advice. Only move if it is safe to do so and doesn't cause issues for other road users. If you cannot move over safely, you do not move over.

I wouldn't even contemplate handing in any notice, unless you have another job lined up. A good employer will wait for the right candidate and be understanding.

Why not sell them to staff and students?

This is why SLT have finally listened to me and have a clear out. GDPR has really stirred things up, in a good way. There is student data which isn't even password protected. How big are you folders? We have around 800gb of 'stuff'...

Staff shared is the most obvious one, but there must be more imaginative? No? Oh well...

So we are looking at creating a new shared folder. We have two but want to combine into one. One contains Dept files, the other data files. Any suggestions for a share name? It will be for all School staff and not pupils. I have some idea's but they wouldn't be appropriate in a school environment! The winner gets naff all.

It'll be a disciplinary depending on their procedures. If there are no procedures in place, then there is no comeback.

Be interesting to see what happens. This will decide if we disable USB devices completely...

I remember watching one programme a few weeks back. They had faulty tumble driers on which caught fire and BMW's that would cut out. One caller didn't know what to do. Stay in or go out. He had both items!

But what does that actually mean? Is it a technical thing or data retention item. It seems to have landed on my desk...

Does the office 365 work in outlook? It looks like it only works in OWA? Or am I misreading it?

Any recommendations. We use Office 365, but after a secure email system. Our local council use Egress. Need two more for quote purposes. It will be for approx 10/15 users.

What is it? People seem to think it's my job to know what it is! It looks as if it's to do with how long to keep data? It's not a technical thing?

It's got to be down to cost. For example, I bought 4 limes from asda. It cost £1 for 4 limes but in a plastic container. 4 limes seperate would cost me £1.50. I know it's only 50p but things have to cost the same. Money is tight, so I need to think about me and my kids first and foremost. It sounds selfish, but thats the reality.
