Excellent idea! Thanks!!

Unfortunately I can't do it on a virtual machine else I would have!

I can't find the drivers unfortunately, any other help? Haha!

Hello, I just downloaded the R2 ISO from the volume licensing website, burned it to a disc and am attempting to install it on a laptop. This is only temporarily so we can trial the OS. The problem is, it loads the disc and then says 'Load Driver'. 'No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK.' Tried burning a new disc and still the same problem, any ideas?

Hello, We have a folder on our network that we want to secure so that only the IT team can open the folder and view the contents. It has information in such as serial numbers and license agreements etc. and we don't want your average Joe to just stumble upon it. Even better would be having to type a password to open the folder, but I don't think this is possible within Windows Server default. Best ideas for making this folder secure? Thanks!

I'm attempting to encrypt a folder on my server (2008 R2) however I get he following error; Apparently I need to export the expired certificate, create a new one then import and enable it? How, in the simplest way of explaining, do I do this? Thanks!

Apparently we've had that in the past and it didn't work too well!

Hello, So I'm aware the GOOD YouTube options extension for Chrome is no longer free, but does anyone have any good alternatives? So that you can hide the comments etc. and I would like to know how to deploy this via a GPO?

Could try this, would need to send a registry adjustment as well for it to work on the desktops. Any other ideas?

That's how I currently have it, but the other members of my department aren't too keen on this idea...! :-/

Is there any way of hiding all the system tray icons EXCEPT for the Volume Mixer and the Network Connections? We have a LOT of icons there, and I want to lose them all except for those, as they are used often and are important. Any ideas? Thanks.

Is there a real way of setting a global desktop for all students? All the desktops currently have a mixture of software, but some generic software is on them all. I want to be able to send out a global, LOCKED desktop for all the students with shortcuts to the generic software. So for example, all the Serif software would be in a folder called 'Serif' on the desktop, for easy access. What is the best way of doing this? Bearing in mind, some students may have altered their desktops already, and I want these to be reset.

That SHOULD be the case, but it isn't. I hit close, then a few minutes later, the email to say it is closed is sent out, and then the ticket reopens with this:

Only problem I seem to be having is, when it emails to say 'ticket closed' that causes the ticket to reopen? Any ideas?

Okay, so is there an easy way of finding out which machines in the computer OU's are in use and which arent? There didn't used to be a naming system, so all machines are like 'GRITCHIE' 'GRITCHIE-2' 'GRITCHIE-NEW' etc. etc. etc. I suppose I just want to clean it all up and make it neat and tidy - I have OCD when it comes to things like this!

Don't think so! We already have two domain controllers, however it's really messy and there are ou's and group policies all over the place, so I kinda want to redo the entire group policy system mainly.
-
Installing this now!

Hello, So I'm wanting to rebuild the domain controller at my workplace (if my boss allows it) however is it particularly hard? I've done the whole setting up a DC from scratch, but obviously this involves migration of users, group policies etc. How hard can it be? Let me know your thoughts/advice! Thanks.

Hello, Not really too sure where to post this, so I presumed this was the most related category. I'm wanting to set up a ticketing system however we don't really have room in the budget for it, so I've been looking at some free software such as osTicket, however it's not all as easy as it seems. Does anybody know of any software that they recommend which allows Active Directory integration and the ability to email in tickets, which is free? I don't mind setup time but we just can't make any purchases! Any guidance would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Yes - the settings are like that already!

Only just got these messages, sorry, yes they are those AS1's!
