  1. Hi, We've noticed since the latest Office update (12th Nov 24) staff have been experiencing issues with Word and Outlook. This causes word to throw up pop-ups about macros etc when opening word, and Outlook giving errors and not sending emails (stuck in outbox). When send/receive is run it fails. We've not found anything else online supporting this bug so wondering if anyone else has been faced with it? We're going through the process of removing 2019 and installing 2021 on machines affected but they're coming in thick and fast. Windows 10 64-bit Microsoft Office 2019 version 16.0.10416.20007 Anyone else experiencing Office 2019 issues since last update? Thanks!
  2. Currently we use NetSupport on classroom student stations, however the issue we're having is also taking place on admin machines - which do not have any management software.
  3. We're starting to have some real issues with the school I work in regarding network users logging into multiple stations and leaving them logged on and then other members of staff using the account. I'm just wondering if there is a way to limit users from logging on more than once at a time. The other problem is that we also use remote desktop for cloud services. We want users such as teachers to be able to log onto their classroom desktop, but also the remote desktop on their laptop if needed. So in essence, 2 logins allowed at once and if a third is attempted an auto log off on the physical computer already logged on. Ideally displaying a message to the user once logged in or on the log in screen so they are aware. We have repeatedly told staff they need to log off or even lock their computers but it's not making much difference. In the interim we have put on a password enabled screensaver for those that continuously offend, however we want something more site wide. Thoughts/advice extremely welcome!
  4. Thanks, I think I'll stick to what we're doing for now as I really dont want to be reconfiguring 300+ iPads until absolutley necessary.
  5. tbh I dont have the time - but someone has to do it. When I started this back in 2014 there wasnt any Apple School Manager or DEP. When I approached Apple with some questions at an education talk they had in store they had no answers for me except 'Apple Classroom' was going to be introduced - which didnt help with my MDM questions. They 'unofficialy' said they knew of other schools that had/were using Meraki and found it worked well for them. At the time we were only managing 30-60 iPads. I'm now responsible for over 300 and they just keep growing. Ideally I'd like to scrap it all and start a fresh - but i doubt they'd let that happen!
  6. Not using Apple DEP, adding meraki profile via the MDM systems app provided by Meraki. I have a workaround - not sure if it's a full solution though. I found an old profile that when installed (with the existing one removed) the iPads were able to connect to other PCs. I compared both profiles side by side and made them mirror. Once saved and applied the old profile still allowed the device to connect. The only different between the two that I can see now is the Unique ID of the profile. I have also re-uploaded the old (now with new restrictions) profile to the MDM profile. This seems to have resolved the problem, whether it lasts or causes any other conflicts I don't know.
  7. Yes free version of Meraki. AC2 is on latest version. I was starting to think it was something to do with Meraki or AC2 itself as we have a btach of 30 ipads that havent been updated or touched in a few months and they can connect to other computers fine and they have the same profiles installed as the ones that wont connect.
  8. Hi All, I'm hoping I can get some answers. I was thrown in the deep end a few years ago with configuring a meer 30 iPads for our academy. Since then it has grown to well over 300! I use Meraki MDM to deploy apps and Apple Configurator 2 to manage/supervise them. Recently during the summer holidays I updated around 200 iPads - all updated security settings and a few new restrictions. As I am aware there is an option to allow/disallow iPads connecting to non-host machines. As these iPads are used throughout the academy I have this box ticked so pupils and staff alike can plug into any of our machines and access photos/videos on the iPad they wish. Since updpating during the summer it now appears that when plugged into a PC, we get the error message "This iPad is supervised by another computer and cannot be used by this computer". We've never had this problem before (apart from years ago when first figuring out I had to tick the box to allow it) but suddenly it's became an issue. I thought at first it was because we have a mixture of models and iOS (9.3.5 > latest) but it seems to be across all versions and models. Am I missing something? Is there a different option that is conflicting? I have a number of restrictions set and disallowed system apps but not sure what could cause this suddenly. Help please! Stace
  9. Okay, so after sitting down and thinking about everything i done yesterday that might have changed the way the iPads were configured, i remembered i added the MDM URL to the supervise settings. I have since removed that (As i was applying the profile in the 'profiles' section on the supervised tab), and now they seem to be working? Anyway, sorry for the ramble and unnecessary post. All is working here now. I'll be back if i have any more problems! Thanks
  10. I left them over night and they're all still on the same screen.
  11. Wi-Fi profile is set in profile from Apple Configurator. Using the same Apple ID for every iPad.
  12. Hi Guys and Gals, Im in charge of around 150 iPads at a very large cluster of Academies. Today i was asked to configure 5 more iPad minis to add to our collection. The way i configure the iPads are as followed: 1. install the same profile created on my mac using apple configurator 2. install the Meraki Cisco profile I use for MDM, that again, is used with all of our current iPads. 3. configure the account settings to match the apple ID used with Meraki and deploy apps. This afternoon i have been faced with a new option (I have never seen this before so new to me!) I'm not sure if its part of the iOS update, Apple Configurator update or OS update. So part of the profile that i put on the iPads bypasses a lot of the standard OOBE and just asks for language and location. Wi-Fi is automatically set so after passing that the iPad usually goes straight into the OS and displays the standard apps. HOWEVER this afternoon (now) after passing on the wifi i was given the option to allow the profile that i just installed to configure the settings on the iPads so i can control them over the air. I selected apply configuration and 'next' and now they have all been stuck on the 'Installing configuration from *****' screen for nearly half an hour. As a test i did choose 'don't configure' on one of them and as you can guess, none of the profile options (such as do not allow app store, etc) were applied. I then unsupervised the iPad and supervised it again, choosing 'apply' and it is now stuck like the others. I don't want to restart the iPads as i don't want to get them stuck or have to restore them. Note: These are brand new, never been configured iPads. Any help or advise is extremely grateful! Stacey
  13. It worked! Thank you!
  14. Does anyone know the server address for the Apple ID Server? We're having same issues and recently we updated our Smoothwall Filtering. Hoping it's something that we can easily fix.
  15. Wow! I didn't expect so many replies so quickly! Originally, I started to use the Apple Configurator alone, creating a profile that stored the Academy's WiFi info and proxy settings. This deployed fine onto the ipads however I couldn't find a way of deploying free apps using the configurator as freebies can only be deployed via MDM and not a redeemable code (when purchasing from VPP). To get around this i looked into the MDM solutions and found Meraki! I thought "this is great, I'm going to be able to get these ipads off my desk at last!" But no. It turned out that when i tried to install the Meraki profile (after preparing the ipads with our settings) they kept failing. Eventually i decided to leave the Apple Configurator all together because when it was installing okay, the iPads were forgetting the WiFi info, thus needing to constantly typing in the password again! Now I have only used the Meraki on a couple of ipads OOTB and the WiFi doesnt seem the be an issue (hoorah!) The issue now is all about the Apple ID prompt. Am i really going to have to have the ipads brought back into my office every term or time a teacher finds a new app that's resourceful?! I have questions regarding VPP too but Ill get to that once i know what my options are!! Thanks for all the responses guys - i dont feel so alone!
