MLS eclipse replacement - Accessitlibrary??
Decimas6 replied to timbo343's topic in Enterprise Software
Do you happen to know where pricing is in comparison to MLS? We have the self hosted internal MLS and never updated due to cost (nevermind the bad press). -
Sorry for the late reply, is the RDS server going to be accessed from the web or internally only? I would set it up with your own certificates first as in the link I followed, check it all works then look into getting registered certs and what you need to do. We already had an exteral facing web server setup and I did not need to go through that part of the process.
-
We already had this certificate for our external facing server so did not need to buy/set one up.

I just configured RDS for us here. I got this error when I had the RD Gateway server name entered wrongly and when certificates were not trusted. This is what I followed https://www.virtuallyboring.com/setup-rd-gateway-role-on-windows-server-2012-r2/

Hi, We previously had 2 of the same print devices/queues going to the same printer. Yesterday I deleted the 2nd queue and changed the other to default B&W. I haven't been able to print from any devices since. When I print a test page directly from the Copier's admin console it prints out fine, and I can copy fine. When I try to print a test page from Print Manager on the Server it goes through the queue, says "Printing" and leaves the queue, the copier revs up like it's going to print something but doesn't, there is then no trace of a document trying to be printed. It is being pushed out via GPO and when printing from a client Machine, it leaves a "Printer State Error". A popup box should appear asking users to enter a user number, after which it will then print. To try and resolve this I have reinstalled a new print device instance - no luck with default settings. There is no interim software, just a the MFD Sharp admin console and Print Manager on 2012. Restarted the Spooler and restarted the Server. Any ideas?

Deploying Windows 10 with MDT/WDS - Fully Unattended
Decimas6 replied to Zoom7000's topic in Windows Server 2012
We have started deploying W10, I install core software such as office/chrome/antivirus on the image before capturing, so there's no need to add them to the task sequence. You can add all software if you want, I just do one basic image that gets installed on everything then different task sequences to install the different software groups (Staff, IT, etc) As mentioned above, you a can turn most options off with a line in your Deployment share rules/settings.ini. -
We run windows defender, disabling the Action Center was a major part of stopping access, along with restrictions you'd normally have for control panel etc. I'd also recommend disabling Toast notifications.

[mdt] Unable to capture image MDT - Invalid DeploymentType
Decimas6 replied to bondbill2k2's topic in O/S Deployment
I found this a little while ago, it has been useful when troubleshooting MDT issues, rather than messing around trying to get the log off the computer itself, you can set up to store them in your share https://scriptimus.wordpress.com/2011/05/31/mdt-2010-storing-log-files-centrally/- 4 replies

I can't say that SkipProductKey it isn't you're issue, as I'm no expert, but I set up MDT over a year ago with "SkipProductKey=Yes" set since day 1 and I haven't had any issue capturing. Have you got a log of a failed capture?- 4 replies

Hi, we have had an issue for sometime now where users will log in and not have a drive available (that they have permissions for) or the drive will be there for so long and they will then lose the drive. I have not seen the issue first hand, and I can't say if it is effecting everyone, but it is often reported by the regular users. Is there anything we can look in to?

I haven't had a chance to try what's here in the thread yet, so sorry if it's an obvious answer, but I'm guessing you disable the Taskbar Search and Window View in settings and that is copied with the start items? Or is there is a different way about it? Do you know if you can pin items for all users?
