Sorted - It was the Connect.ini which was set to Redirect instead of the Server name\share

Thanks for the info. I believe that is correct but it doesn't seem to work for me, I installed SIMS on the session host by browsing to the network share and installing Simsapplicationsetup.exe, it ran through fine, the sims.ini on the SH C:\windows points back to sims share (a UNC path), but still doesn't work. When the SH doesnt have the S:\ mapped then it comes up with the "Incorrect s:\simsconnect.ini file" - Mapping s:\ manually works fine.

I`m trying to get GPP running properly on our RD Web access without any joy! This works fine on the network but I cant seem to get it to work through RD Web, we have published Sims through RD Web which requires the S:\ to be mapped for it to work. I have published explorer.exe and I can map the drives manually but I need it to run automatically (so it then maps the Sims share for Sims to work) Am i missing something?, GPP should still work fine through RD web right?

Thanks Where would you typically install the Veeam Backup proxy on? Another server than the B+R server?

Could anyone using Veeam share their Backup schedule? I`m implementing Veeam in the next few weeks, planning to backup to our 20tb QNAP TS-869 PRO, currently I backup all our VM`s to this using Backup Assist. Is it possible to do file level restore using Veeam or should I still use BA for this? Thanks

Thanks for your replies, I have changed the drives to 2 x 300gb 15k SAS and 6 x 600gb 15k SAS. Also gone for another X540 10gBaseT as redundancy, the 10G cards are planning for the future as we dont have 10G setup yet. Do you think a faiover is needed or could I use the 1G card for this?

Thanks, I usually setup a Raid 1 on the 2 x 200gb Drives for the OS and then a Raid 10 for the 4 disks. I think i will change the Broadcom to an Intel card

No not got Veeam (yet) So, the best bet is moving both VM`sat the same time including datastore. Host A is old and will be shutdown after i have moved these. Cheers

Yes Internal storage, Eventually I want to move both VMs and datastore to another host but at the moment only one of the VM`s. I don`t mind moving the datastore to the new host but don`t want to screw up the other VM on Host A! as its one of the DC`s! Cheers

Quick question, This is probably a straightforward one but don`t want to screw it up! Host A VM1 VM2 Host B I want to move VM1 on Host A to Host B leaving VM2 intact. Using vCenter "Migrate", when on the Storage selection page, "change both host and datastore" would this leave VM2 on Host A working ok? or does this move all files from the Datastore?

I`m in the market for a new Server and looking at planning for future upgrade to a 10gb backbone. Can anyone offer advice on the best options for the Dell Poweredge`s?, are the Broadcom adapters ok? or best to go for the Intel cards? Cheers

We use AC2 and Meraki (Free version). The problem we have now is Apple ID`s, we used to use one for all. Staff Ipads that go home isnt much of a problem as they use their own but pupil ipads how do people manage this?

Yeah sorry, "busy" isnt a great way to describe it! lol. It just seemed there was more activity on the switches than there should have been, but now you mention WOL then that would probably be the reason\explain it. Probably being too picky and as you say if there isnt any issues then I think its ok Thanks

Not really sure on this one, my switches look like they are always busy, (even at low usage periods) but I`m not experiencing any network performance issues, browsing to network shares are almost instant, log on speeds are ok. Pings to Servers are <1ms How else can i test? Switches are HP v1910 and 3com 2900`s. STP is on on the switches. Surely there would be network performance issues if there was a loop?!.

I think i have finally found the problem! Thank god!. As previously mentioned, by installing KB3172605 makes all the clients report to the server within minutes, it also fixes the Long long wait for updates sync between client and server. Edit : I installed these on the client and not the server

Anyone got any ideas on what this could be, this is doing me head in! I have moved the Wsus console to another Win2012r2 VM, half of the network communicate on a daily basis but half dont! There no rhyme or reason to it! we have a mix of Win 7 pro and Win 7 enterprise, I cant see its a FW issue as half are fine on the same policy, same with a Windows update (on the server), Re imaging seems to work so far, so this points to something on those clients but what!?, I could do with having to re image half of the network! Any help would be great!

Hi, I need to run a quarterly check on low disk space on clients with 120gb ssd`s, does anyone have a script i can run to output to CSV or recommend any software to check these? cheers

Yep a good few miles away FTTC plan is apparently April 17 but im not sure how accurate that is and how often that gets put back?!
