  1. The issue I have is the GPO inability to add an account and set the password these days due to security restrictions imposed by MS. If I could create the account, I could sort it
  2. I now have the image deploying correctly (slim image - thanks @computer_expert), however I need the build to add a local admin account (specific username and password), and to run a script to remove a lot of the pre-provisioned store apps. we normally do this prior to capture, however I can't work out how to do this after the slim build:- * GPO no longer allows me to add a user and set the password. * The scripts to remove the apps won't run even when execution is set to bypass in the task sequence Can anyone offer any guidance on this?
  3. TBF because I've never changed the status quo here (although I used slim in previous schools) I've switched to that, and added an unattend.xml file, however the one thing I haven't got working yet is the initial request for the install locale and language. If I can work out why that is still popping up, then I'm laughing
  4. Well I got to the bottom of yesterdays issue, however when I'm capturing an image for sccm to deploy, the capture gets this far and then just stops and waits there (It's been there for about 4 hours now) I'm at a loss where to even go now... about ready to put the PC in a cupboard and give up..... HELP!!!
  5. Foolowup:--- I've just found the SMSTS log, and it seems it is trying to write to a Z: drive (I've no idea where that is supposed to be mapped to)
  6. I have also just seen this offer, so could you please contact me as well. Thank you
  7. I'm going through the process of installing Windows 10 (20H2) * Install from ISO * make required tweaks * remove provisioned apps * Install windows updates * Run disk cleanup wizard * reboot * Mount "wxcapture" iso * run "launch media" * Point to UNC path to store image Sysprep then starts, runs for a couple of minutes before failing with a 0x80070070 error. Googling show this is a disk space issue, however there is plenty of space on both the C drive and the UNC path. I can't see anything obvious in the logs in the sysprep/panther directory I'm at a loss where it is running out of space Can anyone help?
  8. Whilst all my nightly backups are running correctly now (thank you to everyone who replied on my earlier post). Looking at my database backups specifically, the 15 minute snapshot is working fine on the exchange databases, however on the 2 SQL servers in the same protection group they don't appear to be happening (although the nightly full backup works correctly) Beginning to wish I'd never moved the DPM server now.
  9. Thank you Lee. I have used both Sophos SG and XG in different roles for many years (and indeed run the free XG license at home), so I am familiar with the technology.
  10. Okay so I've come in this morning and checked the DPM server. Most of the backups are now running correctly, although a couple of databases on one server don't appear to be still running the scheduled backup (all the rest on the same server are fine) UPDATE:- It is only the "model" and "reportserver" databases on out main DB server that are backing up - the rest I've still got to do manually - could this be the account that SQL agent is running under?
  11. Thank you - I'd missed that step, and we had many tasks disabled. Having enabled them and run the DPMSync, I've now waiting for it to sort itself out as just over half the backups are showing critical (replica inconsistent). I'll feedback once it's had time to update
  12. Yes max server memory is fine. It seems to be running fine this morning, so no idea what the issue was
  13. I've got everything running now (after changing the SQL services to the local Microsoft DPM account) apart from the SQL backups (So file backups, Exchange databases and Hyper-V machines are now backing up correctly). Any advice on troubleshooting why the SQL backups aren't running?
  14. Yes it is virtual, and everything else appears to be running fine - - - Updated - - - Raid status is okay on the host cluster - although I'm migrating the storage to different drives in case of disk issues
  15. I know there have been a few discussions in the past about which is best, however I am re-visiting the project in school. We currently have a Smoothwall appliance which is due to come to end of it's license period in May next year, so I'm starting to look at replacements. I have plenty of experience with Sophos technology, so am considering the Sophos XG, however I would also like to consider Fortigate as an option. What is everyone's opinion and experience with the different technologies, which would you recommend and why? I have already contacted a number of suppliers to quote on all 3 solutions, so this is now a fact-finding exercise to give me the ammunition to go to SLT alongside the quotes.
  16. We had an issue with Sims stopping responding earlier today. A reboot of the DB server has brought things back online, but it is running extremely slowly (Took ages for the server to come back online). I'm currently running resource manager on the server and getting te following:- CPU ~ 34% usage Disk 9Mb/sec Network 10Kbps Memory 28% physical used / 0 hard faults There is nothing obviously wrong, and nothing in the event log so not sure where to look for the slowdown Can anyone help?
  17. I've recently set up a new DPM server to backup file shares, SQL db's and HyperV VMs. All my protected items are showing as okay, however the backups are not occurring as per schedule (although if I create a recovery point manually that works). I've already checked the SQL agent service is running, and have also removed and re-added the protection groups. I'm at a loss what is causing this, however I need to get to the bottom of it. Can anyone suggest what is causing this? Cheers
  18. Login to Azure AD admin, then choose All Services, and Groups - I seem to remember I had to delete expired groups in there as well
  19. I've always found AMC-IT great for pricing - 01536 513 679
  20. If you use SDS, you can login to SDS.microsoft.com and run a cleanup in there... drop me a message if you want more details
  21. I have recently installed a new DPM server and set up all our backups again (old server was dying). Since then, I'm finding I can manually tell DPM to create a recovery point however the scheduled recovery points are not happening (e.g. today I haven't had a backup since the 2nd October). Can anyone suggest why this is happening?
  22. It's really strange - if I try and do it with the developer tools open, it works perfectly well. If I do it without opening the dev tools then it doesn;t work
  23. I'm trying to get all staff to complete the Cyber Security module at https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/training/top-tips-for-staff-web/story_html5.html however when they try and complete the knowledge check quiz it won't let them submit their answers. I think it may be getting blocked by Smoothwall, however despite putting it in authentication exceptions, https do not inspect etc it still has made no change.. Can anyone advise why this is not working?
  24. Can't see why not.... I'll have a quick run though to clear out anything sensitive then post it up
  25. We use an in-house PHP based system I wrote, which manages workflow from initial entry, through various authorisations, to eventually receipting the goods
