We use MS routing and remote access, and give the staff a preconfigured installer to run on their own machines to securely connect. This client will automatically connect, map their drives, open their home drive in explorer and open the school intranet

If I disable the piece of software it hangs on, it then hangs on the next piece of software in the sequence, which would suggest it's not that piece of software. The software does deploy individually without an issue

I'm having an issue with building a machine using a task sequence in SCCM.. The task sequece runs prepares the disk, installs and configure Windows, and then on a particular piece of software, would sit on installing it forever. I've tried disabling that piece of software, and it now does it on the next in sequnce instead. I then tried adding a reboot after the previous piece of software, and this has not resolved it either. As there're nothing in the SCCM log to indicate any error, I'm at a bit of a loss. Can anyone help?

We are currently running Eclipse MicroLibrarian, and have been contacted recently pushing us to upgrade to their cloud hosted version to overcome Silverlight issues. As a school, we feel the costs of the both the upgrade and the annual charges for the hosted version are prohibitive (even with the discount offered). As we predominantly only use the system for booking, we are needing to look at what other solutions are out there for schools to use - better still if there are decent free/Osource systems available. Has anyone any suggestions?

I've had a similar problem in the past and managed to solve it this way.. * Open CMD as an administrator * Use pushd to navigate tothe share on the server in question (not the DFS share) * Use takeown and icacls commands with the /reset and /grant options to force access back. It's worth making sure you have full access to the parent folder as well, as without that you may not have success with this resolution.

We are currnetly having an issue whereby an agent suddenly becomes unreachable from our DPM backup (reports agent not reachable. A reboot of the protected server will resolve the issue, howeve rebootign a production server isn't feasible. Can anyone advise what could be causing this (I've googled but to no avail) Cheers

Thanks again Steve - it was the missing system attribute. Not sure why it's creating the profile without it, but a quick login script is resolving it. Just on the offchance, there isn't a quick way for history to be stored within the roaming profile so our SBM can get her history from any PC in school? CHeers

Thanks Steve, Even while the session is open, there is no history being shown so it's def not delete on exit The history folder in the local version of the roaming profile has the same permissions as the rest of the profile (inherited) so can't see any issue there. I find it strange that the filter only shows the one option

I'm having a problem enabling access to internet history in IE11 for staff. Currently, if they go to history, they only see "Search History" with no entries. When logging in as admin, I see the history as I would expect it with the various search filters (view by date / most visited etc.). I'm struggling to find the setting that my predecessor has used to restrict this - even Google isn't giving me the answers I need. As I've tried with both a mandatory and a new roaming profile, I can only presume it's a GPO or a script being run but just can't locate it. Can anyone suggest how this could have been done Cheers!

I've just replaced our SSL certificate for Exchange with a certificate from another provider. I've added and applied the certificae in Exchange EAC, and added the intermediate certificate in the Certificates MMC snapin and restarted IIS. Since then, clients are getting a message saying they are using a certificate they have not chosen to trust and cannot connect to the server. I'm not sure what I've missed on this, however I need to resolve it this week as the old certificate only has a week left to run. Can anyone help please? Cheers

I'm trying to get Dreamweaver 8.02 working reliably under Wnidows 7 64 bit. Whilst it will load as an adminsitrator, it seems intermittent under a user account - sometimes it loads fine, other times it takes ages or doesn;t load at all. Has anyone come across this, or have any suggestions?

I've recently deployed Dreamweaver 8, followed by teh 8.02 patch onto our PCs. Whilst the software runs fine when logged in as an administrator, the windo never opens when starting as a standard user. I've googled around a bit, and see lots of refernces to the 8.02 patch, but can't find any other causes. has anyone else had/no of this isseu, and how to resolve it Cheers

I have one single PC (in the same collection as many others) that isn't PXE booting correctly... It start the PXE boot, thens its at "contacting server" forever I know it's not a network issue, as it's on our workbench, and is used to build multiple machines. I can't see that its'a problem with the collection it's in as other machines added at the same time, into the same collection are working. I've removed and re-added the PC Can anyone suggest anything?

We use GLPI with a custom simplistic front end that is embedded in our intranet. No-one ever sees the GLPI interface

We currently experience some very slow logins for our staff and students who all use mandatory profiles. The delay seems to always be at "preparing your desktop" (yes we have verbose on). I've tried creating a new profile for them, however it seems to make no difference. I've tried this without GPO's applied to the user/computer as well, but this doesn't make much if any difference We redirect appdata, documents and start menu so they shouldn;t be causing a delay. Can anyone advise what I can do to speed up the logins?
