  1. We’ve bought a number of tablets for use as a bookable student resource. Obviously they will want to access their Google Drive accounts, however I’m concerned that once a user adds their account it will then be left available for the next student to access. Do any of you have shared Android resources, and how do you manage this issue? Any guidance on how you have them set up and configured would be helpful. Cheers Iain
  2. Thanks @pcstru - I'd not been made aware of the implications (and haven't seen it myself yet), so it may be a manual install on one users PC in that case.
  3. I'm trying to roll out the various bits and pieces of addins for BromCom that are needed locally. The only one I can't work out how to install silently is the excel addin. No matter which switch I use, it still insisits on popping up with a confirmation whether I want to install or not. Has anyone got any suggestions for this? (I've tried running it though USSF, but that returns nothing either).
  4. Thank you @3s-gtech - it was the smartquotes. It's working properly now :-)
  5. Whilst it sounds like it's working, the query "Select AddressWidth from Win32_Processor where (AddressWidth=”64″) " isn't running the GPO on either a 32 or a 64 bit PC Will a test for bit size work even under a user gpo?
  6. OK - so far I've got a seperate menu structure setup and I can redirect to that using a user GPO. As soon as I add the WMI query to limit it to 64bit machines, the policy stops applying with a deny reason of "False WMI Filter". I'm new to WMI so am tearing my hair out
  7. I'm trying to get this working using WMI queries. I've currently managed to get a seperate start menu structure, which is applied against the user account. As soon as I try to add the WMI query to identify the 32/64 bit the policy stops applying with a deny reason of "False WMI Filter" WMI is a new area for me, Im teaing my hair out
  8. We are currently running Windows 7 32 bit across the board, with redirected start menus. We are looking at, as we replace machines, replacing them with 64 bit Windows. The proble we have is that a lot of the software shortcuts are different on 64bit machines. Is there a way to redirect the start menu differently depending on the machine in use? I know this can be done with GPP but I can't find a way it GPO
  9. Mornign all, I've hit brick wall getting the invigilator dashboard working. Whilst it will run find under a roaming profile, as soon as I convert that same profile to a mandatory profile, the program won't run - event log shows a .net4 unspecified program failure. I can't understand why it works under one but not the other. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so what was the solution? Cheers
  10. Thanks @newpersn - that's BRAdmin Professional which I have. I'm starting to the the web-based version has been discontinued
  11. That's where I've been looking but can't find it anywhere

  13. I'd like to configure the default windows download directory to point to either the users (redirected) documents folder, or ideally to a subfolder of that (which may or may not exist yet). I've looked at a few gpp/gpo suggstions for this, howeve I've not had much luck with them Has anyone had any success with this, and if so what was the solution?
  14. Eventually after running a repair through powershell repeatedly the database came back to a mountable state. We then migrated all mailboxes onto a new database. Out of approximately 1500 mailboxes we lost 3 that were too far gone.
  15. We had an unexpected power fail on our Exchange server this morning, and our mailbox databases will no longer mount. I'm currently runing ESEUTIL /p and ESEUTIL /d to try and recover them, however the online guides all mention running ISINTEG after that before mounting. Obviously ISINTEG is now deprecated in Exchange 2013, so I'm not sure where to go next on this recovery. Can anyon please dvise on my best options? Cheer Iain
  16. I did dismount it as I've created my own databases. I've just tried again with the database remounted and the same error occurs
  17. I initially tried it from the 2007 server (which is the error I screenshotted), however I've also tried it from the 2013 server
  18. Well the Exchange migration is well underway, but I’ve hit a snag and wondered if you had any thoughts?... When trying to migrate a mailbox to the new server, I get the following error:- The odd thing is RAFA is our Exch 2013 server rather than our old server. Googling tells me it’s the system attendant service on the old server, yet this is running (I’ve also tried restarting both the service and the server) Any thoughts as I'm tearing my hair out here, Cheers Iain
  19. We use GLPI, but have written a PHP front end for it to make it look more user-friendly.

  23. I’m repeatedly receiving the following Advanced Threat Protection C&C reports from my Sophos UTM, all referencing to one of my domain controllers. Some of the alerts are identifying C2/Generic, whilst others are reporting dubious DNS queries to a lock.bz domain or a .tk domain Threat name....: C2/Generic-A Details........: http://www.sophos.com/en-us/threat-center/threat-analyses/viruses-and-spyware/C2~Generic-A.aspx Time...........: 2016-11-08 08:50:23 Traffic blocked: yes I’ve run a SAV scan, run the Sophos virus removal tool, and checked our DNS server for references, with nothing appearing. I’m not receiving reports for our other DNS server (which is replicated through AD), so am at a loss to identify this issue. Can anyone help on this? Can you please advise
  24. I'm trying to print to printers that have been shared from papercut using Google Cloud Print from a chromebook. The chromebook is logged in as a user that exists on papercut, yet whenever I send a print I get the following message showing a completely different email address, that obviously doesn't have rights to print to the printer:- Has anyone else seen this, and what is the best resolution? Cheers!
  25. We're equally having a problem getting a reply from Adobe for a distribution license - I've now applied several times over a number of weeks, both using a school email address, and also using a school standalone gmail account - but had absolutely nothing back
