1. We've gone the SharePoint "page of links" for staff homepage. Before that we had a homemade HTML page with a simple table to organise the staff links.
2. Totally. All I'm saying is that it kind-of tracks that a lot of people are forgetting the new rule, when you consider that there's an older similar rule that was equally forgotten.
3. How so? Govt guidelines (according to the UK reporting) are that the aircons can't be set to below 27C. So surely you set the aircon at 27, and whatever the room equalizes at (presumably somewhere around 27) is where it has to stay. Unless I'm missing something.
4. To be fair, I don't think most people remembered that, even before the new rules, pedestrians crossing a side road had priority over cars approaching the junction (so the minute you step into the road you technically have priority over approaching traffic). Until the new-ish changes it's always been perceived as cars/vehicles having ultimate right of way on the roads.
5. How much power does that use though? (I guess a lot less than heating the whole room) I just have a 10tog "winter blanket", it's like sleeping under a giant pillow.
6. I daily drive either the Corsair K75 or the Logitech MX (which are both lovely, but I find extended typing sessions on linear mechanical keys quit hard going). But some years ago I picked up a i-rocks D10 on the advice of a friend (apparently he got it for the keycaps), and that thing is a dream to type on.
7. Fair enough. I'm sill hopeful for another series. The Orville's felt on the edge of cancellation practically since it started, so I'm just glad it's done as well as it has.
8. To be fair, I rather like the amazon basics (or amazon essentials as they're called now) jumpers.
9. We started watching From on Scifi last night (not sure how long it's been available, it just popped up in the Sky recommendations and I remember watching the first episode some time ago when AMC had it online for free to promote the show). I'm getting strong Silent Hill vibes, and some hints at an interesting mystery. (and apparently already renewed for a second series). I thought the Orville's future was looking up as Disney+ bought the rights to show it. You've got to think if other Streamers are interested it improves it's chances of not being canned by the network (and there is talk of a succession plan if Seth wants to bail at some point).
10. From my point of view (as mostly a cyclist) not a great deal has changed. Most pedestrians mostly still look both ways before crossing the road (TBH we've been running campaigns to get students who walk to school to take out their headphones and pay attention for years). Most car passes are good enough. Things still get a bit hairy as all the school drop-offs fight to get as close as possible to the front of the school (and still let the kids out the driver's side for some reason). And other cyclists seem to be cycling along much as before (still see a bunch of school kids cycling on pavement). Talking to one of the student admins before we broke up and apparently her daughter failed her driving test because she didn't slow for a pedestrian who was walking on the footpath by the road and might have tried to cross (admin was miffed as instructor had said this should only have been a minor) - so there are still some very odd interpretations out there.
11. Looks like you can download the telescope data yourself
12. Any idea when this feature might be coming out?
13. So the only way to use the Performance Management system right now is to set it so the staff using the system can see everyone's Appraisal?
14. Hi, I'm trying to set up Bromcom Permissions for staff appraisal and Can't see how teachers can get to just their own Performance Management. If I go to My Profile under the user menu then I don't see the CPD/Performance module. If I add the permissions here, then the staff member can browse the staff list and see everyone's Performance management. What I really want is for the Performance Management module to appear under My profile, but I'd settle for having to go through the staff list if they only have access to themselves. Thanks!
15. and now a yellow warning for thunder storms...
16. https://app.weathercloud.net/map#EGLL (As of now, it's holding at 39)
17. TBF most of the forecasts I've seen suggest that while temp has ramped up more quickly through the morning than yesterday, it's going to peak earlier and then let off a bit through the afternoon. (At least in the south) Apparently the block of warm air (the "heat dome"??) over the UK peaked at about ten last night.
18. Our finance team are trying to have a clean-up of the 2,000 odd suppliers listed in FMS, and have asked if there's a way to bulk edit suppliers (mostly this is to mark them as inactive). Does anyone know if this is in any was possible? Thanks!
19. At this point, there is question of why would someone test? People who are feeling well probably aren't doing random "spot checks" since they stopped giving out free testing. And even if you're feeling unwell, would you bother testing or just call in sick and stay home until you feel better? (I guess if you had some free test left over, you might take one).
20. Most commentators I've seen blame the success of Lost and Fringe for the "mysteries that just keep adding questions" trend, although they're both pretty old now.
21. I got this table off Smart last year when we stopped our site license. (although the page it was on either doesn't exist or has moved, so take with a pinch of salt)

Feature With the basic version of SMART Notebook

Activities If the file has existing activities, the content is maintained but cannot be edited. 22. I'm almost certain that doesn't include the 100+ West Sussex schools who Bromcom got.
23. Yes, we went back to check if we'd missed the final episode somehow. Cutting off at the end of the climax without having a proper (just a truncated) denouement/epilogue seems to be a trend floating around at the moment.
24. Just finished watching the Undeclared War on Channel4. Not what I was expecting, but very compelling.
25. Curtesy of our reprographics tech...
