I have fixed the error code by resetting the Windows Update components on the server as I posted above and what @3s-gtech posted and posted it back in case anyone else came across it - I still can't read the WindowsUpdate log but as long as Windows Update carries on working that can be a fight for another day. Thanks for the additional replies though.

Get-WindowsUpdateLog can't decode it for whatever reason, just returns a load of unknown entries with "No Format Information Found".

We do Biometrics for those who consent and offer a PIN number to those who don't or the biometrics just won't work for them for whatever reason, no real issues. Suprisingly for us a number of staff refused to have their thumbprint taken, yet quite happily use it to unlock their phone.

Just in case anyone else comes across this, still can't read the Windows Update log but an old fashioned Windows Update reset fixed being able to check for updates.

Sounds like the students were added to the classes as an additional teacher/member of staff in order to allocate them a timetable if that is really how it worked. In regards to Show My Homework, you just need to go to the staff members section, edit those required and then just make them teachers by adjusting the slider.

Tried that, even left it off for an hour in the vague hope it might do it but alas no. Can't even read the Windows Update log file because the system can't decode it and no amount of Symbol updates seems to fix it.

Anyone any advice on this one please? I set up a new WSUS server on Server 2016 3 weeks ago and all was fine, looked at WSUS while checking a couple of things for tomorrow and noticed the server hadn't checked in for 8 days. Running Windows Update gives update error 0x8024500C, it did eventually check in though. Anyone any hints as to what it might be? Googling produces errors relating the the "Dual Scan" functionality of Windows Update, but out of all the policies enabling it all I can see is the only one I have enabled is the one which disables it checking against Microsoft Windows Update. Tried manually installing the October Cumulative update and enabling the do not allow the defer policies to trigger checking against Windows Update but still the same result. This is only affecting the server 2016 machines, Windows 7 / 2008 / 2008R2 / 2012 / 2012R2 are all checking fine. Stumped now, any help appreciated!

We use NRS and Schoolcomms, our caterer favoured NRS and we specified that as we were already using Schoolcomms for trips and other online payments that is what we wanted to use. Only a couple of minor issues here that we've resolved by just adjusting scheduled report upload times slightly. NRS's requirements for virtualising the server backend were extremly OTT IMHO so we ended up with a physical box in the catering office (because I didn't have the physical resources to meet their requirements), but I will probably just try P2V'ing it in the future.

The report I specified does, it outputs the data to a pivot table. Only come across it recently because it was broken when someone tried to run it.

Diesel are better for longer runs, depends on where you are driving. 10 mins on the motorway might benefit, if it was a lot of short journeys and traveling around town then you'd be better off with petrol, shorter runs mean there's a chance the filter won't be able to clean its self. 10 years is about the time DPF filters started coming in.

Do you need it for a specific time? Whoever does your school census is likely to have copies of the census reports and they'll contain your own roll numbers at census times.

I do everything via GPO. NetSupport DNA agent just get's pushed out via GPO with the server in the config file as per the instruction. NetSupport School, I have 2 folders - one for the student and one for the tutor. Config files in each and then 2 GPO's. The Tutor PC's are placed into an AD group, the student install GPO gets configured so that the the Tutor PC group doesn't have read permission to the GPO, the Tutor install GPO has the filtering so that only the Tutor PC's have read permission on the GPO. Link for GPO's to the room and then configure the rest of the details by ADM. Hope that makes sense!

We've had that and a case open, Capita say it's a Microsoft problem and a known issue, however it isn't listed as a known problem on any of the KB articles so we're having a rather unhelpful discussion at the moment.

I keep my account and my admin account separate, so if I need to do anything I specifically log in as an admin. Would certainly solve your issue! My admin account is also cloud based where as everything else is DirSync'd so should anything disasterous happen that wipes all our sync'd accounts out I can still gain access through the cloud account.

This is what we do too. If it's an individual parent needing to be emailed then the member of staff can send it from their own email address or route it through the main office so it goes out via the admin address.

Sorry Jen, I got tied up with other things. You are doing exactly the right thing, when you see the box asking you to displace it, you will see that the right hand side says lock/clash: Put a tick in that box, then the box will turn Green because it has a hard lock on it like so. When you then look at the bands screen, you'll see that that slot has turned black because it now has more than one block in it (ignore the number of black boxes visible on our screen, we have a lot of clashes....) If on the Displace window you don't tick the Lock/Clash column then it will simply swap the block out as you've previously discovered. Hope that makes more sense?

@timbo343 - just been messing with something in AzureAD (although probably not best for me to admit that) and in the Enterprise Apps in the properties of ArcGIS my "Require User Assignment" option is set to no - perhaps the reason you might need to assign them is because it's set to yes? Not sure why mine is/was set to no in the first place however would explain the difference in our setup if it was the case.
