Full blurb here: Announcement: The Yammer Customer Network is moving. - Computer Products As per our previous post from last July, we're really enjoying using Yammer amongst the team here. We hope that this increases the number of Edu establishments that use it also, but what are your thoughts about Yammer? We'd be interested to hear how you use it (if at all) For example, we know it can be handy to teach social network skills/web safety to pupils and staff alike - all within a safe and secure internal environment? Or alternatively as an active message board to assist with organising certain projects or timetables for rooms/areas or equipment amongst staff? Communicating more effectively with parents? It'd be good to hear your thoughts Joe

I wouldn't recommend factory resetting unless you have saved a copy of the current config (Administer-> Backup-> Save Backup) and have a full understanding of the configuration i.e. VLAN tagging, WPA2/PSK's, SSID's etc, however I would suggest this won't provide resolution for this issue. What lights are showing on the Access Points? On the ZoneDirector event log, what alarm is listed at around 7:30 on Sunday? Main thing is to check you have valid support on the ZD, if you PM me your serial number I will let you know the support status for the ZD as if you are covered then your reseller should really be running through the trouble shooting for you (it's what you are paying them for after all!), if you aren't we can assist on getting you covered and providing resolution. Thanks, Mark

It should indeed be changeable, have you tried logging in as global admin and seeing if it is still greyed out? Thanks

It isn't the supplying at all, it is the more the post sales/post installation support. The part where most tend to disappear! It isn't a small, off the shelf purchase. It is a solution and as such needs be supported correctly. Chris

If you are all working on the same tenant, you need to have different fqdn's for each participant. You can add multiple fqdns to a single tenant or you will need a separate trail tenant for each user. I'd suggest you create a tenant in advance as a spare in case there is a provisioning problem on the day of the training and one domain for each participant.

I'd hazard a guess its the dreaded foil backed insulation in the newer section; nightmare for signal penetration. As for the tinted glass, tend to find that the worst ones for RF are the metallized tints- as you can imagine coating glass in a layer of fine metal inst great for radio waves passing through it! As many of you have outlined coverage per AP is entirely down to the specific on-site environmental conditions and this really sums up why a proper site survey is needed, with real world signal testing, rather than the dreaded "guy with clipboard walking around taping on walls periodically" type that I come across all too frequently. A lot comes down to AP model with regard to client density capabilities, which models are currently deployed and which are being backfilled in? As mentioned AP per classroom isn't a great idea as Tx power even at its minimum transmit power will still lead to several AP's being visible to each other and increased packet collisions etc.. One thing I see quite frequently are misconfiguration within the ZD, if you didn't do the original deployment then its worth going through section by section to check that nothing silly has been ticked or unticked; particularly pertinent to this is checking whether load balancing is enabled. If you want to chat in more detail on it drop me a PM. Thanks, Mark
-
You can increase max client load per radio within certain restrictions based on the AP model; Which model is this? If you go to Configure-> Access Points-> select the relevant AP group (if you haven't set any then select default) and set the "Model Specific Control" to the AP model you have within the group, this should then allow you to increase it over the 100 client limit. Also under Configure-> WLANs-> select the relevant SSID and select advanced options, you will then see an option "Max Clients" you can then adjust this as well. to increase max load. One other thing- which encryption method are you using? Any problems drop me a line and i'll guide you through it. Mark [email protected]

DevilsAdvocate is indeed right, Dimensions (W x D x H) 43.5 x 38.3 x 4.3 cm, you've then got maybe another couple of inches depth to allow for the power lead etc. If you've got a spec in mind drop me a PM and I'll get over some smaller form factor options. Thanks, Mark

Traktor is awesome but not the cheapest. It is a bit of a cheat regarding the mixing side of things, but it means you are free to add to it and so create a hell of a lot more while mixing. You will be truly amazed though. Hope it helps. Chris

Affordable wireless controller/system for a primary school?
Haptic replied to JJanisch's topic in Wireless Networks
Have a look at the Ruckus AC Access points as they are on offer currently. Not as cheap as the Unifi, but packed with more features and it doesn't always boil down to cost, sometimes best value wins out! Chris
