Roughly translated that means- "The draw is getting close but there is still time for your last minute entries, contact your account manager or email [email protected] for details" Amazing how much info Wookies can communicate in a growl... On an aside, if you haven't seen this we highly recommend a viewing, looks epic!

Certainly an interesting topic. With our 1:1 solutions we negate any risk by working with both Insurance and lease providers. We selected both parties based on age of organisation and financial position. We also offer Schools and colleges an additional insurance built into the scheme, this protects against the potential for under/non payment from parents. Regarding the roll out, we strongly advise a test/trial batch. Change management and adoption are always far more important than the financial aspect in our opinion. Joe

So like Terminator movies (seriously who asked for Terminator Genisys?!), as time goes on the way you look at your current WiFi infrastructure will change; no longer does your 802.11b/g system make you purr with pride, instead you've watched it get swarmed and overwhelmed by devices like it's the Battle of Yonkers. What can you do? Budgets are tight, business managers are adamant there is a "wiffy" and therefore it's not an acceptable use of funds and you're left watching your previous pride and joy get beaten into unconsciousness with no escaping the hordes of devices. There's hope- We are currently offering a trade up to 802.11ac (waves 1 and 2!), from now till the 30th September 2015. This offer is based upon you trading in your old a/b/g/n access points, both Ruckus AND Competitive, and getting them replaced with the shiniest of shinny things: • ZoneFlex R710: The ZoneFlex R710 redefines high-speed and high capacity WiFi. The first 4x4:4 MU-MIMO Wave 2 AP enables customers to maintain a reliable wireless network in high-density, capacity-challenged RF environment. It delivers superior Smart WiFi access point performance, increased device density, and WiFi monetization with Internet of Things (IoT) technologies enabling new business models for the Enterprises & Service Providers. The ZoneFlex R710 is available now. • ZoneFlex R500: The ZoneFlex R500 delivers high-performance and reliable 802.11ac wireless networking at a competitive price point. It was built for enterprises requiring reliable high-speed client connectivity. It is ideal for a variety of medium density enterprise and hotspot environments including SMBs, hotels, retail outlets, and branch offices. The ZoneFlex R500 is available now. So how much discount I hear you cry? It's on a case by case basis but it is substantial- not quite back to the buy one get one free offers of yesteryear but not a million miles off. To discuss how much you could save on getting your system upto date please contact your account manager or [email protected] Terms and Conditions: • The access points identified to be decommissioned need to be in working condition (as determined solely by Ruckus Wireless) to qualify for this offer. • The deadline for an end customer to decommission their existing AP is by December 31, 2015. • By participating in the program, you will be asked to acknowledge that you are the rightful owner of all devices being traded in. • This offer cannot be combined with any other promotional offers, special pricing programs/agreements/vehicles, including Ruckus Education and Hospitality program. • Ruckus reserves the right to change or cancel this promotion at any time for any reason.

Hi, sorry for the late response. We finished our training with Ed Doan of Google US on Friday, I posed this question to him after the session. [Paraphrases slightly] Its disabled if the network doesn't have MDNS turned on and client isolation. he said a quick test is to plug in a chromecast and see if you can pick it up. He likened the issue to Airplay/Bonjour, most issues of this happening are due to the network. Failing that, once a Chrome Management License is purchased for a device you receive 24/7 support from Google. It might be worth raising a ticket. PM if you'd like more assistance with this. The Google UK team are really looking for ways to help people with potential/existing Chrome deployments. Joe

Good questions, other partners nodded in agreement to these: 1) End of Q3 is the official word 2) Other than Google Play, everything available in the US is available likewise in the UK. Cited were differences in grade structure and curriculum. I'm interested to hear more examples of this, I'll certainly pass them on if you PM them. -

Haptic replied to Haptic's topic in O/S Deployment
Certainly, we've heard some answers for some questions (sadly we didn't get the chance to ask them all) although we're at a Deployment workshop tomorrow with the team from Google so we can pose more then. What we gleaned from today, we asked the below and received some very high praise for the questions you asked. The Google staff were honest and very open with their responses. 1) When can we disable bluetooth on Chromebooks using the management console ? Bluetooth really isn't very helpful from a wifi perspective when devices are searching as it causes masses of interference! Response from Google: This has been logged as a feature request, already on the 'work in progress schedule' - Q4 latest. 2) is peer to peer chromebook updates going to be available anytime ? Again, bandwidth sucking Response: The Google staff were genuinely interested to hear more, they requested more info on the types of update you refer to. However they were quick to highlight the update process is completely configurable by Network Staff, using the admin console and calendar function. 3) It would be useful to be able to have CB's in the management console AND have developer mode on. Lots of students want to run Linux. OK, I knew I was heading for a roasting with this one, but after 6 years of supporting this forum, I know you have to back the tough talk... The response I received was truly great, the other partners creased, as did the Google Staff. Ultimately, the main task they've faced (mainly in the US) is network managers asking how to keep Linux OFF CB's. They also hinted at apprenticeships for students deploying Linux on chrome books. Ultimately it doesn't look set to happen any time soon. 4) PLEASE let us have an inhouse only G+ site with no external contacts Again, this received high praise as a very straight forward question, response: Google+ is recommended for 13+ however you can restrict sharing, not outside of the domain. A suggestion was to use Google Sites as an intranet instead? I hope these helped in some way, as we now have direct access to both Google's support and tech dev team we really are interested to hear your views/feedback/hopes/negs about the Google proposition. We will be in a position to handle more questions tomorrow, please keep them coming! Mark -

The initial sign is is (admittedly, even by Google themselves) a little difficult. However you receive 24/7 support from Google included in the one off £19 management fee per device. Again we can help you with log ins/putting you in contact with the right people. Feel free to PM Chris -

Certainly, if you PM your details we can facilitate this, it's going to be the main way to inform sites of the benefits of GAFE, Google Chrome and Chromebooks in general. We're happy to help you with this. Mark -

Morning All. We’re posting this from inside Google HQ in London, invited down here for the day to learn more about the benefits of Chrome O/S and Chromebooks in general. Our day will be spent learning more about the deployment, integration and management of Google Chrome across all aspects of Education…and possibly sitting on the odd bean bag. We’ll be posting some pics to our twitter feed @HapticNetworks As Google Education Partners we are now able to supply Chrome Management Licences as well as the devices and installation/support services. We wanted to take the opportunity to ask anyone to post their questions, comments or feedback regarding Google Chrome OS and we’ll gladly fire them at Google directly at some point during the day. We’ll post the responses a little later/tomorrow. (crouches down, covers intimate areas and awaits onslaught) Chris & Mark @ Haptic
