Ive read this a few times and still dont see how I can implement this. CSS and web design aren't my specialty

Hi everyone. I need a bit of help with our website. www.rbsc.somerset.sch.uk Its based around sharepoint so uses html and css. the main body of the site is basically a html table with a width of 1004px aligned in the centre of the page. I have been trying to create a small shadow effect to go around the edge of the table but I cant seem to get it quite right. My question is, what is the best way to achieve what I want to do? Its currently set up with a row at the top and bottom with an image of a shadow thats 1004px wide and a couple of cells to the left and right with images of shadows in. I dont like it, its messy and doesn't view the same in different browsers, especially if the contents of the site stretches more than 1004px and the top shadow doesn't fit. Im sure one of you clever web designers can help me, it stretches just beyond my capabilities. Thanks James

I think it very much depends on the situation. If I walk past a student and they are on a game when they should be working I'm not going to repremand them during a lesson, thats the teachers job to manage the class. I do however, make a note of the site and filter it immediately. If they are on a site that is very inappropriate I will tell the teacher and let them deal with it. Then filter the site. My job is to manage the network, not the students behavior

I disagree completely. At 23, qualifications do mean a lot not only to yourself but also at this time in your career, they show to a potential employer that you're not a complete cowboy. Microsoft do loads of qualifications and there are many wasys of training for them. Im sure someone on here will be able to tell you more than I can.

No, I didnt miss it. I ran a full backup of the servers c drive because I didnt think there was an option to backup just the system state. The backup of the c drive completed successfully but the backup of the system state failed.

SOLVED - So I updated the agents and it still failed. Whilst looking on the net for how to update the agents, I found some instructions on how to perform a system state backup using Windows Backup (I thought I could only do a backup of the whole of the c drive) So I ran the backup using Windows Backup and it failed with a much more useful log than BackupExec ever gave me. It turned out there was a folder where the permissions were set to everyone denied! The location of this folder was C:\Windows\SYSVOL_DFSR\domain\DfsrPrivate\ConflictAndDeleted\ I changed the permissions, deleted the folder and voila, backup completes. After looking in this folder there is all sorts of old stuff. My question now is what is this folder for and can I delete the contents? James

Ive rebooted all servers, and the backup is still showing errors. Ive updated the main backup exec program, how do I update the remote client?

yes. you dont need to delete her local profile from every machine in the school but only the one she will log into for the first time after you rename her server profile. Then when she logs in, a new profile will be created for her.

when you renamed the old profile, did you also delete the local copy of her profile on her machine?

Ok, just performed a backup of the servers c drive and it completed without error. Anyone got any ideas on how to proceed?? Edit: Forgot to mention that I performed the backup using Windows Backup, not BackupExec

Its not a Hyper-V guest. The machine is a second DC and is replicated from the main DC. The main DC machine backup completes without error, which is strange because the SYSVOL folders should be identical??

Im having a problem with backing up the system state from one of our DC's. We use backup exec and Im getting the error code E000FEDF Im pretty sure its just a permissions problem. Ive enabled logging on the system and searched for the error code in the log and this is what I have found. How do I find out what is going wrong? How can I find out what the component is thats failing? TIA James

it was 200 degrees in a fan oven.

SOLVED - This appears to have fixed it. I put the motherboard in the oven last night at 180 for about 10 minutes and then tested it. I powered on. So I rebuilt the laptop fully and then tried to switch it on and it was dead again. So I put it back in the oven, this time I did 10 minutes at 200. Now its working perfectly. Thanks for everyones help with this. J

I think I know the answer to this already but Im going to ask the question anyway. Does this include server OS'. If I buy into the scheme can I upgrade from 2003 to 2008

thats actually a great idea. Ive done it in the past with a printer that stopped working here. Ill try it tonight and see what happens.

ok, ive just tested the cmos battery and it was dead. volt meter measure 0.01 for a 3v battery. So ive replaced that but still no joy! Would a dead motherboard battery make a difference to it not starting anyway?

I have managed to put a multimeter on the motherboard where the powerboard connects and it has a voltage of ~4v. I have tested at the top of the power board and im getting the same result. The picture shows the mainboard and the power switch board. Where the mainboard joins the power board, there are six connectors. from left to right, If i bridge connectors 1 and 2 the led on the power board lights up so I know power is getting through. Could I be unlucky enough to have 2 faulty switches? Does the switch on the powerboard just create a circuit between the remaining 4 connectors? If i were to bridge the 4 from the right, would that do the same as pressing the button on the power board?

I came to the same solution. I have replaced the board already with one from ebay (I did mention in the original post). The problem is how can I test it?
