  1. Just read through the documentation again and I stand corrected! Good job you guys are here.
  2. Really?... I'd better go and have another look then. :tugs-at-collar-to-release-steam:
  3. @chrbb I think you've probably figured out how it works by now, but just to clear up a few misconceptions... No you don't. That's the whole point of EES - you pay your subscription and you get licences for all your computers whether they currently have a licensed version of Windows or not. That is one of the reasons why companies like VeryPC offer computers without an OS. Ignore me - I'm talking rubbish! As others have noted, with EES you pay per full-time employee regardless of how many computers you have. For the purpose of EES, full-time employees include anyone who works over 200 hours per year and has access to a computer (so you probably won't need to count cleaners, welfare staff and the like). Not sure if there is a difference in cost/benefits, but we went for a Windows Pro subscription and Enterprise is included as part of Software Assurance. Any member of staff included in the count can purchase a copy of Office Pro Plus to install on their home computer for £8.95, for as long as the school maintains the subscription (and the member of staff is employed there). I'd heard about this but haven't looked into it yet. Now this I didn't know! Did you take out a Server/CAL subscription or is this included with the Windows or Office one?
  4. Oh, the irony! Campaign against mass surveillance and the homepage asks you to enter your name, email and country and encourages you to share on twitter, facebook, google+ and tumblr.
  5. Stop with the anagrams; I've got work to do!!!!
  6. What, you mean as opposed to the usual Al pulling a name out of a Broadleaf One chassis? Edit: ...during a highly entertaining video.
  7. Not got an i10 but the next one up - the i20. Just coming to the end of it's 5 year warranty and, overall, it's a good little motor. Bit cheap and plasticky on the interior but solidly built, handles well and very cheap to run. I'm sure the i10 would be just as economical with the fuel and it's only £30 road tax.
  8. I group the students home directory and OU by class so that teachers can easily locate and access the students work when they need to. As children move class each year, I just rename the folders and use the %username% wildcard to update in AD. Not sure if this is the best method but it works for me.
  9. Not surprised! That's pretty spectacular playing! As an aside, I went to see these guys (The Katona Twins) just before Christmas. While, they were technically brilliant, I had to leave half way through. It was meant to be a 'chamber concert', but they were wirelessly amplified. Despite it being a stereo setup, there was absolutely no panning on the sound so everything just came out of the same place. Despite sitting quite centrally, the position/location of the speakers meant that everything seemed to be coming from my left - despite the fact that they were both positioned slightly to my right. It was like listening through one side of a pair of headphones. My head couldn't cope with that so I left at the interval. It actually sounds better to me on here that it did in the concert hall!
  10. Wh...whha...wwhh..So we're...*sob*...not your fff..fff...ffriends then, @VeryPC Al? Are we just your...*sob*...little playthings? :heart-ripped-out-and-stamped-upon:
  11. DDRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!! ME, ME, ME, ME, ME, ME!!! I need one now that I've just drooled all over my laptop!
  12. Hey, Frenchy! Head is looking for a new laptop. Do you reckon you could get him a Thinbook to have a play with for a couple of weeks?
  13. Now THAT is fantastic!
  14. Woo-hoo!! VeryPC competitions rule! (As today is exactly my 42 and a 1/2th birthday - do I get half a special prize?)
  15. Although, technically, it's not Gregorian chant (and it's ****** awful!)
  16. With VeryPC, we're ALL winners! :wink, click, point, teeth-sparkle: (I can say that now I've actually won something!)
  17. Got to 'fess up. I typed my entry after I read post #165, but by the time I'd posted and refreshed there were already two posts referring to mine! I think the ripplies of the Madvent time distortions may still be washing up debris on the shores of Edugeek!
  18. Bring me the trackball!!
  19. That should be about now then.. Edit: Expected to have been beaten to the punch by other posts. I'm early for once!
  20. Coming up next... TRIIIIO!!!! TRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIOO!!!!
  21. I was half expecting @X-13 to claim the prize he gave away originally.
