Anyone off to the Education Innovation thingy in Manchester
StevieM replied to cobra427col's topic in General Chat
I'm on my way now. ICT co-ordinator was meant to be coming with me but circumstances prevailed. I did a bit of research yesterday and I'm all prepared...I know where there's a good real ale pub for lunchtime. :-D -

TBH It stopped working for us after a little while too. Not quite sure why. Are you using Smoothwall by any chance? I was thinking it may be worth posting directly on their forum. -

My trackball came on Monday along with the head's shiny new Thinbook. It's taking a bit of getting used to but it's pretty cool. I just love the fact it looks like an R2 unit piloting a speeder. EDIT: The trackball - not the Thinbook! On a separate note, I had a dream last night I was at some kind of BETT like conference/exhibition and the VeryPC crowd were there. I snuck up to their stall and shouted 'BRING ME THE BOX!!!' at Al, only to discover that there was a very important presentation going on at the time. People were not best pleased. I then woke up and suddenly remembered I'm supposed to be going to the Education Innovation conference in Manchester tomorrow. I'd completely forgotten about it and have made no preparations whatsoever! -

Not been online since the video draw but by my reckoning I've got about 45 minutes to get my entry in for the bonus competition. Can't decide between 337 and 241 so I'm gonna toss a coin - heads is 337, tails is 241... heads it is... 337 please. -

Don't worry. The sharp objects were banished when I was sponsored more money to grow it than I was to shave it. :we-need-a-beardy-weirdy-smiley: -

Collared! It's a fair cop! (Didn't enjoy being in the BB anyway, but there was no scout group nearby when I was little.) And whether I win or not, a VeryPC competition draw video still counts as a great way to start the half-term. (Bonus entry for brown-nosing?) -

Oooohh!! Getting all excited! What a great way to start the half-term holiday! Awww, thanks Al. -
On the up side, as I was driving home last night a plastic council recycling box blew across the road in front of me. As I was about to stop at the lights anyway, I hopped out of the car and threw it in my boot before it blew onto the main road and caused some serious damage. When I got home, my own green box had blown away. At least I don't have to order a new one now!

Think I'll need to lock my cap on the way home tonight so it doesn't blow off my head! Or should I post that here?
-
I'm hoping to upgrade to one of those after half-term.

Wind picking up in Liverpool, too. I can see the poplars in the park opposite taking a bit of a hit. It's also triggering my asthma (and I'm still indoors!). I can't abide windy weather.

@VeryPC You can put my trackball in with the Thinbook that I've got on order if that makes things any easier for you. -
We purchased server and CALs outright a couple of years ago when we upgraded from Server 2003 to 2008, so we've only subscribed to Windows and Office for now. And was this information ever posted in the 'What cool thing(s) did u do today?', thread?

The question is now is 'How do I buy an extra home-user license for the head's new laptop without him noticing?' Apologies, too, to @Mr.Ben for doubting his expertise.:embarassed:
