Free to a good home (Stocktober 2 surplus prizes)

What a great idea! I wish I'd thought of that. -
Or there's George Benjamin's short opera 'Into the Little Hill', which is based on the story of The Pied Piper of Hamelin.

Yaaayy!! That makes me the coolest person on the planet! (Sorry for the late reply.) -
...or Pierre Boulez or Elliot Carter. Personally, I'd go for something like Olivier Messiaen's 'Quartet for the End of Time'. Great background story (written and first performed in a WWII POW camp with the instruments available) and you can get the children to listen out for different birdsongs.

Don't worry, @sparkeh, there are several of these IIRC. -
Please don't mention moustache twirls. We had Victorian Day last week and I thought that, for once, I'd apply a little moustache wax to my facial follicle feature. Followed the instructions carefully but when I applied it, it wouldn't spread and it looked like I had a massive bogey. Took me ages to get it out, taking several hairs with it. Yeeeeoooowwwwww!!!!

Ahhhh. That's better! Coolio! Just don't do it over lunchtime when I've got Recorder Club... No problemo! Knew that already. Can't ever accuse you of being unfair. -

Me Please! i bagsied this ages ago! -
Phew! That's a relief. Last time we played this venue, some poor unsuspecting bloke in his 60s got swamped by a crowd of lads who were a little 'enthusiastic'. He went sprawling and his glasses flew off. He scrambled to his feet and I managed to rescue his glasses. After the gig, I went over to thank him for not kicking off - which he had every right to do - and his response was, 'I ****ing LOVED it! Best night out I've had in years! Took me right back.' (Shameless plug: Anyone in Liverpool who fancies a night of grunge, get down to Stamps Too in Waterloo on Friday night for the mighty Shigpit!)

The irony is, the rest of the school is running IE9. A visiting tech must have installed IE10 on the server. LEA came in and installed a Smoothwall kit, changed the proxy settings but didn't include the bypass for local addresses. I try to update the GPO and find IE Maintenance section gone. Oh well, all sorted now.
-
They were set up in GP but the option is no longer there since IE10 was installed. Managed to do it by editing a VB script. Thanks anyway.
-
Forgive my ignorance, but how do I apply the settings for all users? I have them set up correctly on an admin account, but the settings don't apply to other users.

This is something I'd never even thought of. I'd always assumed the venues PLI would cover it. I suppose if someone trips over a lead or an abandoned guitar case, the venue would want come back from the band. Yikes! We've got a gig in a local bar on Friday night and it usually ends up with a bit of a mosh pit and people crowd-surfing, etc. Maybe we need to get everyone to sign an indemnity on the way in!

Woo-hoo! Mug arrived all in one piece. Thanks @VeryPC! Clean big logo wins hands down, although you could get away with an URL and/or phone number around the bottom edge (or even around the inside of the rim). Oddly enough, I had a mental picture of the mug being black with white writing and green logo. I was quite taken aback when I opened the box and found it was white. Not disappointed or anything - it looks great - just surprised. I have just christened it with a refreshing brew of nettle infusion. Grrr, @sparkeh! Followed your recommendation but the chocolate just melted when I added the boiling water. -
This is the first I've heard about it. Personally, I think the Network Advantage Licence will be provided by our LEA - perhaps with an increase in the annual cost of the SLA. If not, I'm more than happy to not upgrade to the next version of Smart Notebook. No great loss there. It also takes away the hassle of having different versions of it around the school.

Totally agree. However, I think the main complaint is the fact that they sent out the email telling people that they were stopping the free service on the day that they stopped it. No advance warning, it was just gone. If they had sent an email 2 months ago saying it was ending on 21 Jan, people would have had the option to either buy in before hand or find an alternative provider. I probably would have bought in then, but not now.

Didn't you know that tea is the answer to everything? Whenever anyone has a problem it's always, 'Sit down and I'll make us a nice cup of tea. How's that, eh?' EDIT: Woo-hoo! Just had the go-ahead from the head that I can go ahead and... go.
